Eureka Martial Arts Sale — from £10.99
https://eurekavideo.co.uk/promotions...rts-sale-2024/

(of course, their promo email arrived moments after their shipping notice for my recent order of several recent releases. None are in this sale, and all are LE versions that don’t always last until sales, but I really gotta learn to hold off on their stuff. I did buy the standard editions of the LINE OF DUTY movies in recent months, so . . . d’oh! )

A very HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our customers! Many thanks for your custom throughout 2023! To kick of the new year, for a limited period, there are a number of Martial Arts titles are on sale via the Eureka Store from £10.99 each!

Sale ends at 12pm (GMT) on Friday 5th January 2024.

Diabolik has some ‘damaged’ copies of Shawscope Volume 1 for $59.99, for those that might have missed it before it went OOP. Not sure how bad the damage is, but I believe others here have mentioned their damaged stock is usually not that bad (?):

Entering the code gives me a "Enter a valid discount code" notice.

Edit: I emailed them and it's been fixed.

Re: Deals Thread for Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

Grindhouse Video is doing a ‘Ten Months, Ten Sales’ promo to celebrate their tenth anniversary. I thought I posted about this here before, but maybe not. First sale was Blue Underground, but the usual discs at the usual prices. New sale is 88 Films, with a mix of prices on mostly their Hong Kong goodies. I only really need their most recent releases, which are all $20-ish, so I may hold out for lower prices down the road (especially with free shipping only over $100). Tempted, though:

Definitely a good buy on ITLOD (tempted to get a couple for resale; it’s ridiculously overpriced up here), and several others. A lot of those old Shaw editions are good value at $8.79. No deals on the newer releases that I need, naturally — BLUE JEAN MONSTER, INSPECTOR WEARS SKIRTS, LONG ARM 1-2 — so I guess I’ve got to hold out for them a while longer.

Re: Deals Thread for Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

Further to the 88 sale at Oldies, I clicked off that sale page and when I got back to the home page, I noticed they’re actually having a larger martial arts month sale, March 5-26, of which the 88 titles are just a part. This also includes stuff from Arrow (mostly mirroring the sale at MVD shop, including Shawscope 2 at $69.95), Severin, Dark Force, MVD, and older odds and ends from smaller dvd labels. Free shipping kicks in at $75, so this expanded selection might make that easier.

Even though I've been spending money like an idiot lately, I couldn't resist this Oldies/88 sale. I grabbed :

The Postman Fights Back
Martial Club
Human Lanterns
Dragons Forever
Flying Guillotine 2
Magnificent Warriors

& then found a couple cheapies outside the sale ( "Kill Or Be Killed" & the 1991 NCAA National Basketball Championship ) to get free shipping.

Anyone know pricing history on this company:

https://ravenbanner.store/collections/blu-ray-dvds

Noticed them last year but missed their BF sale (are they a BF only sale player?)

No idea but I'd strongly advise renting Kill Her Goats before buying it blind from them. Super cheesy indie slasher with some admittedly fun T&A.

Re: Deals Thread for Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

Raven Banner is legit. They’re a Canadian company based in Toronto that distributes theatrically and on video. Some of their editions differ in terms of having extras that their US counterparts don’t, in my experience. I’m not sure whether their store has distribution from Canada and the U.S. or just Canada, or whether that affects shipping costs.

I’ll also second the warning about KILL HER GOATS. In fact, I’d recommend avoiding it entirely. How that thing got the publicity and distribution that it did is beyond me. Threadbare “story”, almost zero nudity despite playmates in the cast, little gore. It might as well be rated PG.

I bought the 4K SteelBook sight unseen and regretted it. I guess it got publicity for being a throwback in terms of casting pretty girls more for their looks than acting ability. Even indie horror films these days mostly cast ugly people.

There was definitely a lot of hype around it, which turned out to be very undeserved. The girls were indeed stunning, and relatively mediocre actresses, to boot, which, mixed with gore, was a sure-fire recipe once upon a time but it’s a real slog here. And in fairness, there is more nudity than my previous post suggested, but there’s a lot more ‘tease’ with endless bikini and lingerie shots (not that that’s a bad thing, but this film actually makes it tiresome by not paying it off as much as you’d expect). And I’m still not sure that the motivations of the ‘killer’ made much sense to me.

Since I bought the Vinegar Syndrome April Fools Day item can I add to exiting order now or does it not count for that?
