I did get a few good deals but the main stuff disappeared from my cart throughout the nightmare ordeal.
FYI - A few items are available again today. I didn't really want to place an additional order and pay the high shipping cost again but I told myself it was for charity. Bill and Ted and Transformers Animated movie are both back in stock as of now. |

I forgot about this yesterday, happy to get Bill and Ted today. And now it shows sold out, maybe I got the last one.

Thanks for the heads up, I was just able to get 4 of the ones I missed yesterday. |
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
Great -- made a catch up order and got about half the items that I lost out on with the 1st order yesterday. i going to guess it's impossible, but I wonder if there's any way they would combine the 2 orders and save the send S/H charge.
I guess I might as well ask. Worst they can do is say no. |
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
Hopefully none of us will receive emails like this from 2016:
Thanks so much for your recent EAA order! Due to the overwhelming response, we quickly sold out of a number of items and unfortunately went into an oversold situation. If you ordered one or more of the items listed below, we regret to inform you that it is no longer available. We will be processing refunds as quickly as possible. Please allow us 7-10 business days to get this done. The good news is your order will be shipping soon!!! |

I'm glad several of you were also able to score some titles you missed the first round. :) Their site is working much better today, though it's still a pretty imperfect site experience.

I still can't log in. I emailed them, hopefully, they'll bother to write back. Charity or not, I'm getting irritated.

All you need to do to get to the sale site is click "Login", Choose any Company Name and enter Charity2018 as the Company Password. You actually don't even need to do that until you get ready to go to your shopping cart to checkout. You can actually go through the titles and load items in your cart without a password at all. You can't get to the shopping cart without entering the Company/company password (sometimes more than once as you go through), then you try to get the free title to add, and progress to Checkout to enter name/addresses/payment card, etc. |

Try using your browser’s Incognito mode and logging in then. If there’s some weird cookie conflict, that’ll work around it.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
But I'm still not understanding where you're stuck or what you're seeing. I really can't believe they're sophisticated enough to run an IP block when they're having trouble with a simple checkout page.
I'm not even sure popup blocker or javascript blockers could be affecting this page because I'm not really seeing much of anything I am getting a "Not Secure" warning in my address header instead of the usual safe/lock -- could something in your browser be blocking you from going a site like this |

I can't even get into my wishlist this weekend. I was previously able to access it. I guess they're selling enough that they don't care.......... they don't have to. |
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
From facebook
DUE TO A TECHNICAL ERROR, THE SALE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 12/19 AT 2AM PACIFIC |
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
No restock since Day 2.
Just put it down and get busy fulfilling orders. |
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
I gave up on this after 10 or 15 attempts to log in over a few sessions. They also did not return an email & I actually have a legitimate music retail business (though it's on it's last leg).

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
Amazon does sell a lot of import music cds, and I've been buying those over the last year. Streaming, I cannot stand. I want CD-quality music at the least. Non of this MP3-quality crap that has no place in a current world that has very inexpensive memory that can hold all of your music on typical CD-quality formats or higher.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
any idea when they will start shipping--i know they wait till they have received all the titles from the studios to start filling orders? anyone received a shipment yet?
|
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
A few people already have shipment sent and received mostly in the Socal area. A few others have UPS shipment notices.
You probably won't get a shipping notice, but it appears packages are going out UPS so if you're sing up for UPS My Choice they'll notify you when a package in registered. They normally don't process anything until after the sale ends and in the middle of Holiday season I'm surprised anything went out before New Years. I was expecting about 4-5wks which wouldn't be significantly longer than previous sales which seemed to be 3-4 weeks from the beginning of the sale I got a generic email yesterday saying. This wasn;t the email I ordered under this sale, so it much be something I used in the past. Generally it sounds like things should start showing up next week. "SHIPMENT UPDATE: We experienced a delay in the transfer of the orders to distribution. All orders are currently processed and being shipped except for those containing New Release product from HBO. Those units are in transit to our warehouse and will ship as soon as inventory arrives. Thank you for your patience." |

The package was from Precise Media Services located in Ontario, Ca. (Southern California). I live about 40 miles from their warehouse. Interesting note: I made 2 orders, the 1st when the site went live and a small 2nd order about a week later. The package I received was the small 2nd order. Haven't heard a peep about the larger 1st order. |
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
I think it easier for them to get a complete order of 2-3 ready and send those out, rather than an order of 10-15. They do seem to ship as packages are completed and I swear the local area have gotten most of the confirmed shipment, but I haven't seen any evidence that that are jumping people in line for stock that is sold out.
The sold out items have in the past gone to the earliest orders regardless of when the rest of the package was ready to ship. Some of the people who got their shipments first, but ordered later were the one's who also got cancelled Oversold items. So far I've also not heard anyone having items cancelled yet this year. I have 2 orders -- one 1st day, 2nd the next day when a ton of stuff came back in stock. Neither appear to have shipped, but I honestly when i heard the Sale Dates I wasn't expecting anything to ship until after Jan 1, so the fact some folks got theirs this week surprised me |
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
On December 21 I received an email thanking purchasers and the studios for making the sale possible. At the bottom was this:
SHIPMENT UPDATE: We experienced a delay in the transfer of the orders to distribution. All orders are currently processed and being shipped except for those containing New Release product from HBO. Those units are in transit to our warehouse and will ship as soon as inventory arrives. Thank you for your patience. |
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
One of my two orders has shipped as I received a UPS shipping notice from Precise Media this evening. Shipped UPS ground . Received by UPS December 26th at 11 PM in Ontario Ca. Expected arrival Friday January 4th. I am in the east.

Mine finally shipped, says it’s 6.5 lbs

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
Received two of my 4 orders yesterday. Both the smallest of the four, about 6 and 14 movies each.
No communication,UPS did send tracking info. The two other order left are 15+ movies, cds each. Did get the Vampire diaries.I guess now it is waiting game for the other orders. Not sure if I should post what I received. Really wanted Dexter,Billy Jack and one other. But really happy that I even got some great movies and shows. first two orders were day one about 6 hours after the sale started. Added: Kind of surprised third order received today.I did placed all my orders on the first two days of sale. Had to make multiple orders because the site was so slow. |

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
Checking their website for order status using order number and last name, my second order placed December 7 is still listed as downloaded. First order, placed December 6 is in transit and still listed as expected to be delivered on Friday 1/4. At least I know for sure which order I am receiving.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
I think I received my orders around the first week in January a few years back.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
Yeah, I remember the download status, too. I think I received mine when it still displayed downloaded. I know my post is around here somewhere about it. If it's "downloaded", it's coming.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
I'm still irritated that I was unable to log in at all; which is kind of silly as there was nothing at all I was going to be really excited about! I originally had 8 picked out solely based on pricing.

Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
My second order has shipped. Due on Tuesday. So both orders in transit. Again you need to check their website with order number and last name. I did receive an email from UPS that order shipped but nothing from Entertainment AIDS Alliance.
|
Re: EAA Charity Sale - Deals on Shout factory, Warner, Criterion, others
I got two shipment mails last night for my 2 orders yesterday from UPS, but it was at the email address used for the EAA order and not my regular UPS My Choice email so sort of the dispatch email is being generated through EAA via UPS.
The Order Status page also shows the tracking number and a summary of my orders and no longer just says downloaded -- no cancellations which is a bit shocking. |
