Re: Target deals

Target has a 50% off for Jurassic World through tomorrow.

They also have John Wick for $8. Amazon has price matched as well.

Damnit!!! I should have waited. I picked it up release week for $24. Way too soon and I had already seen the season on AMC. I guess I hadn't seen any deals for the last few seasons, so I prematurely pulled the trigger. Foolish me.

Re: Target deals

Yes! I got the final two Mad Men seasons (Final season 1 and 2) for $8 each online with store pickup. Too bad Simpsons season 17 was no longer available at the $8 price (Amazon has it for $13) I was waiting for that one to go down too. At least I never paid more than $10 for a season of Mad Men since they seemed to go on sale every Black Friday.

EDIT: the Target site lied, I looked and found plenty of Simpsons Season 17 for $8 in the store when I went to pick up Mad Men. Of COURSE, by the time I got back home and tried to cancel my Amazon order of it from this morning, the order was "not able to be cancelled" even though I chose the no rush shipping option. Grrrrrrr web sites...

Re: Target deals

Screw it, I went ahead and got the final season 1/2 of Mad Men. At $8 each, that's probably about as good as it will get. And there's no more in the future, so I'm satisfied with these last 2 purchases.

Re: Target deals

I went to Target this morning at 8 AM Central Time and found everything I was looking for except Birdman on Blu-ray. It wasn't crowded. Some of the discs weren't labeled at sale prices, but they were on sale when I scanned them.

I picked up:

Mad Men Season 8 Blu-ray $8
The Duff Blu-ray $6
Outlander Season 1 Vol. 1 Blu-ray $10
The Lego Movie Blu-ray $6

Re: Target deals

I ventured out to Target just to get Mad Men final and Outlander. Mad Men was in the wrong spot and the wrong season was labeled. Fortunately, there was a price checker near there and it was the right price. Outlander was nowhere to be found. The electronics department was no help, telling me it was out of stock. Honestly, they all appeared to be stoned out of their minds. I'd hate to think anyone was normally that dim and lethargic. On the way out I ran across six or eight huge displays of movies in the clothing department. Of course, the stoners in electronics never mentioned them. There were three copies of Outland on Blu-ray left. Now there are two. I got what I was looking for, but not without a bit of effort and a little luck.

Re: Target deals

Went to target. Nothing for me except a shirt for 40% off. They did not have The Duff BD so I ordered it for instore pickup at the next closest target for me and will pick it up tomorrow or Sunday once the BF mess clears up a bit more.

Re: Target deals

I went back to Target today to see if they had restocked their supply of Birdman and they had. Employees had two huge carts full of discs and were restocking so if you missed out on some, they might have more today.

I picked up:

Birdman Blu-ray for $6
The Expendables Blu-ray for $4 (I've never seen it, but I figure I can watch it and if I don't like it then I can sell it and my family's yearly yard for a few bucks).

Yes, Target has been doing this for the last couple of years. They try to spread out the items in the Black Friday ad so that shoppers don't crowd around in one area of the store and get trampled on like at Walmart.

Especially at Super Targets with 2 entrances, you could walk in one entrance and never see the cardboard displays in the clothing department.

At the Target I went to, they had six large cardboard displays in the clothing department and they had additional DVD/BD sale items on 2 end caps of the housewares department.

Went to a different Target today (on Bellflower in Long Beach) and they pretty much had all the movies and dvds in stock still.

Re: Target deals

Picked up Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Lego Movie and Gotham (DVD) today at one of my local stores.

The Target Exclusive Tin Set was ringing up the same price as the normal set, so that was a nice surprise.

Was trying to find TMNT and Hercules in slip covers so I could exchange the ones I bought online. No luck at the Norwalk store (near the 605). Might try that one.

If you do check the movie section and the clothing section (I think it was the women's). They had stuff in both.

Shopping at Target happened to provide me the best laugh of the weekend. As I was walking down an isle, I heard one lady exclaim "I am in 40% off heaven" as she piled clothes into her cart.

I thought the actual deals were pretty suspect. The family in front of me in line bought $592 worth of toys and clothing.

Re: Target deals

No BD's from Target.

I did pick up a few DVDs that were priced pretty reasonably.

Elementary season 3: $10 and the final season of The Mentalist: $8. Both I needed.

Surprisingly I've been able to restrain myself pretty well and have stayed pretty conservative with my holiday purchases.

A tight budget and short list of wants has helped me do the same. A couple of items were gone at low prices by the time I got to them. My total BF expenditure was under $50. Nothing wrong with that. (It helped that I went through my basement DVD shelves and found lots of things from BFs past that I haven't even opened yet.)

Re: Target deals

Target has been pretty good lately, but now all I'm seeing is this today:

"there's a line for this item.
So sorry for the delay, but you can save your place in line by staying on this page & trying again to add the item to your cart.

Thank you for your patience!"

That is happening with pretty much everything I try to add to my cart. I guess that 15% off coupon pretty much broke the site. I'm not going to keep clicking add to cart all day.
