OK. Will keep that in mind of I can't find groups of 3 to order.

Re: Target deals

I wasn't going to be part of this sale...but...somebody mentioned Criterions on another forum and I have exactly three Criterions on my want list right now. Silence of the Lambs (comes out next week), Breakfast Club and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. And what guess what, all are on Target.com and all are $25.99 w/free shipping (Red Card) which with B2G1 would make it cheaper than the usual Criterion flash sale (I don't deal with B&N anymore).

*sigh*, my wallet is crying.

So far this is not working for me. Perhaps it doesn't work on pre-orders. Perhaps there's a code. I'm not finding any details.

Re: Target deals

No preorders and only about 3 to 4 pages of UHD titles. But pretty much everything else seems to qualify.

Re: Target deals

Seems like online only items are excluded. I was trying to get the Shout Factory Army of Darkness set and it's not coming up as part of the promo. Noticed on the search page that the Blade Runner 2049 OST was the same way.

Re: Target deals

I spent a good bit last year, and I would do the same this year, -though there's a bunch of items they no longer carry, -but I'll probably be skipping this entirely.

Re: Target deals

I can't figure out the right trio to make this a justifiable deal. Had the Blu-ray for IT been priced at $20 instead of $25, I'd possibly be pulling the trigger on some. :(

Yeah, I'm out. The only thing I wanted was the Criterions that they were selling and with that out of the picture...there is hardly the point. If they allowed preorders, I could probably think of 3, but in-stock 4k's at Target prices? Not happening.

Re: Target deals

Alot of the stuff I was waiting for has raised prices. Really nothing to buy this year. Oh well.

Re: Target deals

Very disappointing sale this year. The selection and prices just aren't that great. There are a couple of possible orders I can make, but the savings isn't what I would have hoped. It's making it fairly easy to pass on this sale.

Not sure if this helps ... but you can mix and match across media formats. You don’t have to have 3 movies, 3 books, or 3 board games.

Re: Target deals

One thing to mention, they do have a bunch of Marvel movies on sale this week for $19.99. So if you haven't picked up some of those, that works out to be a pretty good deal. Comes out to $13.33 per movie.

Re: Target deals

I vaguely recall picking up a few Shout titles in last year's sale -- or maybe Arrow? -- but there's definitely not a lot of items from boutique labels on sale this time around.

Kedrix 02-12-18 12:32 PM

Re: Target deals

From last year's Target sale, I picked up the two blu's for Young Justice along with the 4k of Crouching Tiger. In my mind, that was an awesome deal, but there is nothing that's really grabbing my interest this go around. I guess I could look in books, but most of the books I read aren't found in typical bookstores anymore.

Re: Target deals

Hmm, how many Target disks with exclusive content (not exclusive packaging) are still for sale? Star Trek Beyond is one. Maybe that's a possible avenue...at least for those of us who never quite jumped on the "new release" bandwagon?

It's not at all stores but check brickseek's inventory for Stranger Things Season 1 Blu-ray. A few locations are blowing them out at $5.

Thanks, guys!

Re: Target deals

Apparently, Brickseek couldn't find much in my area for the Stranger Things BD/DVD set, I picked up a Target Exclusive (in the VHS packaging) yesterday on sale for $15, it looks like that's the cheapest around here unless I want to buy used, and still not cheap enough to prompt me to take this back and buy elsewhere.

I don't know if $20 (on sale from $30) for S2 is a good deal or not, haven't been able to find any cheaper than that unless I want to wait another year for it to hit $15...

Stranger Things season 1 was a Target exclusive release on Blu and UHD (in the VHS style packaging). Season 2 has not been released in a legitimate release yet. Anything "Season 2" you see listed on eBay or Amazon is a Chinese bootleg made from the streaming files.

I'd look for a season 2 disc release weeks before season 3 begins streaming on Netflix.

It's nice seeing cheaper UHD prices.

Re: Target deals

Red Sparrow already at $13. Damn, is the movie that bad? I'll pick up Dunkirk for that price.

So you think the cost to buy a movie equates to the quality of the movie being a good or bad movie?
