Target deals

Re: Target deals
It looks like they added a couple more movies to the $5 gift card offer. Beauty and the Beast, X-Men Apoocalypse, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. It also looks like they removed The Secret Life of Pets.

Re: Target deals
I'm probably going to regret it, but I went ahead and pre-ordered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. It's $20 for the exclusive edition (some shell case and a bonus blu ray) and comes with a $5 gift card. I didn't get a chance to take the kids to see it in theaters, and they loved the first one, so hopefully they enjoy it.

Re: Target deals
So if you bought a $20 BD with a $10 GC, you will only get $10 back.

Re: Target deals
The preorder for the 4K Ultra release of X-Men Apocalypse has dropped to $24.99 and still includes the $5 free gift card.

I cancelled my previous $26.99 order and placed a new one.

Target added a couple more movies with the $5 gift card promo. Star Trek Beyond, Finding Dory, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and Ghostbusters. It looks like X-Men and a few others have since been removed.

I have every Pixar movie since 2007's Ratatouille (and Finding Nemo as well) in 3D. I'm not passing on the 3D version of Finding Dory just for a Steelbook -- and I'm a Steelbook collector.

Re: Target deals
You could always buy the 3D disc separately (from the many that sell them off) and replace the DVD with the 3D disc. The Civil War steelbook was recently the opposite. Came with the 3D so I'm selling it off. Didn't let the disc options keep me from buying the steelbook.

Re: Target deals
Hmmm.... maybe you're right. I'm going to hedge my bets and order both versions. If I can find a 3D-only copy for $10 or less, I'll return the 3D version back to Target.

Re: Target deals
If you use a gift card for a pre-order, I'm assuming you won't lose it if you cancel the order. Correct?
I just want to make sure before I go ahead and do that. (Reason was Target cancelled the $5 gift card that was supposed to come with one of the BD's and I've called/chatted with them twice so it might be easier just to cancel and resubmit the order.)

Re: Target deals
Having them cancel the Gift Card actually works in your favor.
They deduct the GC amount from the item when they charge you for it and then charge you face value for the GC.
If they cancel the GC, you still only pay the reduced rate for the item.

Re: Target deals
Not sure I understand. I want to cancel the order (and then be able to re-use the GC), not just the gift card payment.

Re: Target deals
So you're saying they reduced my order price by, in effect, applying the canceled GC to the current order?

Re: Target deals
For example if you bought a Blu that was 26.99 which came with a free $5 Gift Card... The price of the item is charged at $21.99 and then they charge you $5 for the Gift Card. This works since if you return the $21.99 item you still paid for the $5 GC. But if they cancel the $5 GC, then you are not charged the $5 for the GC and only charged the $21.99 for the item.
Just had that exact thing happen to me.
