Re: Wal-Mart Black Friday ad

Picked up Arrow BD S1 for 9.96. Now to return my 16.99 copy at Best Buy.

Just need The Last of Us(PS3) to go live and I'll be set with my want lists.

Got what I wanted from the sale except for Cloud Atlas. Darn thing sold out too quickly. Will pick that one up from wbshop, I guess. I got Fast and Furious 1 & 4 for $1.96.

Missed out on Wizard Of Oz. I suppose I'll brave the store sometime tomorrow or Friday and see if it's still there. And, surprising absolutely no one, The Wolverine turned out to be X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Re: Wal-Mart Black Friday ad

Arrow, The Big Bang Theory season 6, Supernatural season 8, The Vampire Diaries season 4, Nikita season 3, Person of Interest season 2 and Revolution season 1 are all $9.96 for the BDs

Notice that they are all WB shows.

I like less than 5 minutes from Walmart, I think I will roll the dice and drop in there tomorrow.

Guess I'm a rookie when it comes to this middle-of-the-night orders. I had Wizard of Oz in my cart, but then while adding other items to get to the free shipping threshold, it went OOS, putting me 20 cents below free shipping. Went and looked for another $3.96 title to take its place. By the time I did, my copy of Monsters University had went OOS. Needless to say I scrambled quickly to make sure I didn't lose anything else.

All sold out (all those WB TV BDs)

Man, people just can't wait to hoard those sets and throw them in their closets or shelves unopened & unwatched.

Re: Wal-Mart Black Friday ad

I'm going to try to get Nikita and Person of Interest tomorrow. Love those 2 shows.

I watched the entire 1st season of Revolution when it aired on NBC and honestly, I don't think I need that set or want to collect it. It's good 1 time only viewing. If you've never seen it or don't keep up with current TV, it's probably a decent blind buy for $10.

Re: Wal-Mart Black Friday ad

Pretty lame so many titles are already out of stock. Did they just have a handful on hand? Guess I'll check back later to see if anything gets restocked.

Re: Wal-Mart Black Friday ad

I nearly made it out with Person of Interest S2, but not quite. I wish Amazon would pm, but they seem to have only discounted it to $20. Maybe later.

Best Buy still has Pacific Rim for $8 now. Amazon will have it for $6 tomorrow evening (matching Target's price).

I tried that. Either the local store is annoyingly efficient or they didn't have jack shit on the shelf to begin with. I'm guessing the latter.

Re: Wal-Mart Black Friday ad

Just got back from Walmart, I had to pick up a few non-media items.

Anyways, they are smart. The not available until 6pm displays for movies weren't put out yet. You know if they put those out early, people would scrounge through them and try to buy them because the computer has them marked down.

Plus, none, I mean none of the titles featured in the ad were sitting on the shelves.

I'm going to my sister's house for a Thanksgiving dinner around 5pm. Probably dicey at best I can make it in there and get what I want.

Also, I noticed there was a line 50-60 people deep outside the store waiting for the 6pm sales, while regular shoppers like me are walking in and out of the store.

Re: Wal-Mart Black Friday ad

Great deals (Target also,) but I refuse to fight the crowds for major label dvd's/blu's even tonight. Now if these were Kino, Criterion, MOC, etc i might feel differently........

Not looking like I will make it to Walmart tonight.

Probably for the best. Financially and avoiding the crowds.

Re: Wal-Mart Black Friday ad

Damnit, I totally forgot that the prices were already in effect earlier today. Just Nikita S3 would make me happy but I didn't see it when I went just now. Will go back later when it is less crowded and look again.
