I hope the standalone 3D on Oz was an evil that we won't see again, but more likely they're just testing what happens. So given that I love 3D and I never buy 2D versions of movies when a 3D one exists and the price difference is a few bucks, there's no reason to preorder both versions.

Of course if the price doesn't to the low $20s after coupons, I'm not sure if I'll keep the preorder, and of course Amazon will normally wait until Sunday or Monday before they match BB or Target. Knowing Target they'll probably only get 4 copies of the 3D version in on release day... OK, maybe 12 of TLM, but that's still pretty low.

I have finally embraced this idea. Planning ahead for upcoming fulfillments (does anyone know of a reliable release calendar?) can net you a nice pile of movies for much less than retail.

Not yet. I just ordered the 2D, hoping that will make the 3D appear tomorrow. Will post if that actually works...

I used the coupon for the 2D version. No current plans to get a 3D TV, and while I've gotten the Disney 3D combos before, they were always cheaper than the 2D option sans coupon.
