What do you mean? Costco doesn't price match and I think most retailers refuse to price match warehouse store prices.

No, I meant Price matching with Costco themselves as I bought many of these late last month at Costco :-)

I literally just came home from Costco where I was shopping for groceries and ogling the Dick Van Dyke and Twilight Zone sets. I guess I'll go back tomorrow morning. Is this an instant discount with no coupon required?

Correct No coupon required. Please be aware that the items I listed are not a complete list of the instant rebates. There are many. For example for the Lord Of the Rings there was a sign WB BD Gift sets $49.99 less $10 instant off. The stock number matched the Lord of The Rings set which indeed sells normally for $49.99. I don't know what other sets may be included. Please post other instant rebates as you find them.

Thanks, OP! I just went over to Costco, and picked up Dick Van Dyke and Marilyn. I'd have been all over the Twilight Zone set too, but I bought it for $180 a few months ago. :/

Was busy last night hunting down my receipts from last month - couldn't find the ones for Marilyn and Mel Brooks collection. Never attempted a PM at Costco before...do I need a receipt or can they look up from membership id ? TIA

and got my $20 back from last month's purchases - the price match is a long winded process though. Also on the Marilyn set, they said they couldn't do the adjustment as it was bought in Oct...however I could return it and purchase another set...go figure

Was this yesterday only or should it still be going on today? I've been putting off importing the HP set from amazon.co.uk. This would be close enough to not bother and wait.

A little OT but is there an "Ultimate Edition" set coming out at some point? I'd like all that extra content but the Blu-ray of Harry Potter and Chamber of Secrets is ~$35 by itself.

According to the tags at my store, the discounts expire December 24.

Pretty sure this is what I saw at Costco for $299.99. They were on a separate table with gift books and the like, so I didn't look too closely. And who knows, maybe it's got an instant rebate on it, too.:)

How wide is the Costco price matching window for previous purchases? I bought Lawrence soon after its release, about a month ago.

Re: Costco instant discounts OMG

Well, their return policy is, like, forever, so you shouldn't have any problems price matching. Otherwise, you could just buy the set at the new low price, and then return it with your original receipt.

Costco will do a price adjustment if it's within 30 days of purchase. Otherwise, you can return and re-buy it at the lower price. (Of course, if the item is no longer carried, the return and re-buy may not work.) I did the return and re-buy thing for the Marilyn Monroe set since I bought it six weeks ago (well, re-bought then walked to the Returns counter to return it with the old receipt).

Costco's return policy is many things, but forever it isn't. Even when I bought stuff back during their "forever" policy that they kept touting to me, I didn't return anything before the policy change (in 2008?) because I didn't hear about it in time. I remember reading that prior purchases would be grandfathered, but the few times I tried to return something significant (more than $50) after the policy change they effectively told me to "dream on". It didn't matter that I had bought under the prior policy. On top of that you have to retain a current Costco membership to return anything. So I consider Costco a store that doesn't honor their own prior policies and can't be trusted.

Needless to say I haven't been a member for more years than I can remember. As far as I'm concerned Costco's return policy is as effectively as limited as anyone else's... even worse when an expensive membership is required. I don't know what the official return time limit is, but it exists and is definitely not forever. At least with Sam's Club you know it's 1 month or 6 months and they'll honor it. With Costco they have a track record of changing their minds and not honoring the prior policy. Just my opinions.

You have the worst luck. I returned a plasma TV that was grandfathered just last year and had no trouble whatsoever.

I just returned a rice cooker I bought in 2007 no questions asked. Never had a problem with returns at my local store. I had a pair of eyeglass frames that started getting spotty after a year and they popped my lenses into a new pair of the same frame gratis. The only thing they have restrictions on are the TVs, computers, cameras and the like, and those are spelled out very clearly. I bought an HDTV and three months later they had it on special for $400 less and they refunded me the difference without any issue. That's my experience at my local store.
