Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

PRIME members also get special discounts when buying video games. Substantial ones. I'm getting $10 off Black Ops III and Fallout 4 EACH just for being PRIME.

Yeah I agree. I'm a Prime member myself and I think this tactic is stupid and if I didn't subscribe to Prime I'd just go somewhere else to shop. Not sure what benefit Amazon has in doing things this way.

Same, of all the complaints people have had about Amazon this is really the only thing that I felt was bad.

It will be interesting to see how Amazon handles their Black Friday deals this year.

Will some or all be exclusively available to Prime members?

I think too many casual shoppers drive Black Friday sales for Amazon to make them exclusively for Prime members. I could see a few Prime deals.

You're correct, they did, which in some cases made it exclusively available to Prime members. It's not hard to see the writing on the wall. Amazon will continue to provide value-added offerings to attract Prime members. My view is that those offerings will decidedly escalate.

As an investor in Amazon, it makes perfect sense to maximize Prime memberships as that money flows in year-after-year. Why should they give a shit about the Black Friday shopper who is there for the loss-leader but is largely absent the rest of the year? That shopper can stand in line at Wal-Mart or Best Buy as far as this stockholder is concerned.

Amazon is trying to be the front-end of everything from grocery shopping to on-line music downloads to consumer packaged goods. Whether all those strategies work or not, the plan is simple, you're either with them or you're not. In a way, that's not much different from what Costco does. Pay the yearly fee or shop elsewhere.

So, for those unhappy that Amazon is giving better prices to Prime shoppers ... wow ... my guess is you're going to be more unhappy coming up.

There are plenty of Black Friday shoppers who spend generously throughout the year AND at Black Friday. I'm one of them, yet I feel zero urge to sign up for Prime.

Every single thing that I've ever ordered during Black Friday sales has subsequently been reduced -- either temporarily or permanently -- to Black Friday pricing and lower in the months and years that follow.

Because of this, and because nothing is so critical that I need it now -- especially movies -- I never lament missing out on a Black Friday deal, nor will I ever sign up for Prime to get thrown a few bones, and rarely will I shop anywhere else out of spite. Black Friday and Prime prices aren't exclusive forever.

No doubt Black Friday deals on DVDs aren't what they used to be and no doubt that postponing personal consumption i.e., patience has its rewards. But tell me, what are you going to do if Amazon continues to move to a model where Reward Members always get a lower price than others?

If you want a reason to think twice about shopping at Amazon, read this book (I'm about 1/2 way through). To say the author is not fond of Amazon is a huge understatement).

"The Internet Is Not The Answer"
http://www.amazon.com/The-Internet-I.../dp/0802123139

I'll at least give Amazon points for selling something so critical of them!

They throw more than a few bones. But if it's not for you, then it's not for you. I love Prime and it's saved me money without having to pile up my cart for free shipping. The savings have more than paid for Prime and i enjoy the two day shipping and the occasional streamed movie.

Maybe I'll sign up! Hell, it'll probably be mandatory by then!

Still, I'm doubtful that day will ever come, and in the meantime, I'm more than happy with the ongoing deals and discounts I'm able to score on the site. Too many, my bank account says. Two-day shipping is meaningless to me personally. I just don't need more stuff any faster than I get it now. I use Amazon almost exclusively for books and movies, and I keep several hundred items in the "saved for later" section of my cart, and so far only three have ever been locked up with "exclusive pricing for Prime members", and frankly the discounts weren't that spectacular. But that's just me. Maybe it's different for folks who shop the site for a wider breadth of products -- household, electronics, automotive, personal care -- but not for me.

Indeed, if it's for you, it's for you. With or without it, Amazon offers some pretty substantial savings, and always will. They're not about to shun a substantial portion of their base just because they don't sign up for Prime.

Incidentally, I stream movies elsewhere and I've never piled up a cart to get free shipping, and if I had to, as mentioned above I've got several hundred items "saved for later" -- with constant price updates -- from which I can always pick something I want at a very nice price.

No doubt Prime is amazing for the millions who've opted into it, but even without it Amazon is still a fine way to save money over pretty much anywhere else.

Yes, it's true that you can often get a better deal if you wait years.

The downside is when you still haven't watched it years after the great deal.

More than a few of these Prime exclusives seem to be price matches from Best Buy or other places, such as the Star Trek Compendium (also on sale at BB for 19.99 this week). Though it looks like Amazon raised it to $28.xx today and its no longer a Prime exclusive.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

Amazon has been doing this Prime exclusives crap way before there so called Prime day.

As I said before I've been a Prime Member once before & just signed up once again when they lowered in to $67 for one day.

I had Amazon call me for a problem with a order that I just received. Instead of getting the 6 items I should of gotten I got only one. Many others who ordered the same item had the same problem.

As soon as the person looked at my account info he says to me "OH a Prime Member". Never been treated to good when contacting Amazon before. Hell I been a member with them since 1998. And how is this for a Prime Member. Ordered item on 10-02-15 (in stock) arrived on 10-14-15. Well at least they said it would arrive on 10-14-15. Guess when they shipped the item it was on 10-13-14.

Yeah, I have had amazing experiences with CS at Amazon. The best. I just can't seem to come up with $100. But maybe since the holidays are coming up I might just do it. Of course, that's assuming Amazon has a better holiday sale going on.
