Received my copy of the Vengeance Trilogy yesterday. Not that it really matters, but when did they stop the tin packaging?

Haven't really kept up with this since it was first released and people were complaining of getting two of one title(Lady Vengeance I believe) and none of one of the others.

Got mine yesterday, no tin, and Oldboy had a shattered case. Disappointed.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure the tin was always meant to be a limited edition.

The Warner triple features for $9.99 are interesting, though I have a majority of the single films. Might be a way to do some consolidation.

The tin hasn't been in stock for years.

The tin was exclusive to Best Buy in the initial print run, and Best Buy sold its over/unwanted-stock to Amazon after a few months, where the rest of it sold out.

re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I was misled about the tin because the one Amazon user photo showed the tin. My fault for assuming, but I don't really care about the tin that much. I'm more bummed that I got a 2nd broken Blu-Ray case in the past 3-4 orders from Amazon.

Actually, Palisades Tartan still had tins in inventory after Best Buy's period of exclusivity ended.

And I bought mine at Walmart.com when it was on sale and it came in the tin.

Thanks for the heads up on the tin. Like crikey, I just assumed that they were still coming that way because of the Amazon photo. But no complaints though, Oldboy itself is worth the price, tin or not.

They matched Best Buy and have Person of Interest season 1 for 21.99. I will take it thank you very much.

I assume you mean that they matched Best Buy. Thanks for mentioning it, I enjoyed that series but didn't see all of season 1 and have been mulling over buying it. That price is good enough! (It will be a "watch and sell" for me; cheaper than Netflix.)

Word of warning regarding that Person of Interest set-- I hear the A/V is great, but FYI this is a 10 disc set with only 4 of those discs being bluray and barely any extras. Horrible release if you ask me. $21 is a good price and PoI is a great show but I'm still holding off due to the way it was released.

Just to elaborate: All the episodes are there in HD, but they've also included the entire season on DVD, and copies. The extras are is the extended pilot with commentary and a featurette about surveillance.

The only other way it will be released is Blu-ray only (maybe)...and will have 4 Blu-ray discs. I'd rather have the DVDs along with the Blu-ray release for loaning out to friends or whoever.

Warner did this with Vampire Diaries S3 as well.

Well, that's annoying- I just bought that at amazon. lol

I hope this isn't the start of a trend. What an idiotic idea. I don't really want to sacrifice shelf space for some studio's gimmick. :[

you also got to make sure about Oldboy. i believe it was defected in terms of audio. there was a replacement program for it. not sure what the issue was, but it was an issue.

Progress, but they still haven't matched House S8 (also 21.99 at BB). I have submitted it 4 times now, but no result...
