Is this just an Amazon error, or is this type of pricing silliness typical?

Disappointment and frustration would be natural reactions.

I think most people would agree, despite what a tiny minority, who is probably one and the same person, trolls on about. There is truth to some of "their" contentions, but that doesn't mean it's all inclusive. And it is curiously applied to a forum whose subject matter is about garnering the best deal you can. Plus so soon after one of the posters was roundly criticized in another thread, which hints at hurt feelings retribution.
Well said. Ripley and crikey displayed, what appeared to me, belligerent attitudes to those that were trying to work the deal. I did go out of my way to be at the computer at a certain time and then take care of some other things. Instead I wasted an hour trying to work this out. Perhaps it was not worth it in the long run, but it was my time to waste. It is surprising to me though that Amazon was so reluctant to honor their "advertised" price. That along with the initial CSR's complete inability to comprehend what I was saying was extremely frustrating.

One thing that's never been clear to me -- where was this $35 price ever "advertised"?

B&M prices and Online prices are totally different animals. To try and take "screenshots" and somehow liken it to an ad in a newspaper is just silly. In the age of online advertising, a price can change within seconds. They don't need to offer an explanation. It's their store. You're just a visitor. They don't have to sell you anything. They are not obligated to sell you anything. You enter their website on THEIR TERMS, not yours.

A person knows there is little justification in all the whining and crying because when a deal tilts in the favor of the consumer in the form of a price mistake, there's certainly nobody calling for the return of the merchandise ordered. Nobody calls for the online website to request their merchandise back. Oh, of course not.

Bottom line. You either get a deal or you don't. Rainchecks are a thing of the past on most online websites (if not, all of them). And if you don't get the deal, it's fairly certain another deal like it will come again. Patience is certainly virtue.

Now I'm glad I ordered it for $41 new through the marketplace. If it drops down to $34 I will not feel I lost that much.

EDIT: Polizei, I generally enjoy your posts, but we can agree to disagree on this one.

Does anyone have any idea what's coming up for the Cyber Monday Deals Week yet? The countdown shows 7 hours.

Is Indiana Jones actually going to happen? Cause I just sold my DVD set for $19. Would really like to buy the new one for $30.

I've been waiting too, PTC. Indiana was more than rumored for today... Maybe 7:00 PST Marilyn will take a seat?

They added Dark Shadows Deluxe for 299.99 on Monday at 12;20 PM PST. $20 more than the DOTD a week or so ago.

Where did the news about the Indy sale come from? There isn't anything on the Amazon calendar.

Hmmm, no Indy deal as of yet. I hope the pirates quadrilogy is much cheaper though.
