Has anybody seen a list of the $3.96 blu-rays anywhere? Usually someone has posted one by now, but I'm not finding anything yet.

It looked like about 2/3s of everything was gone already when I arrived just after the "on sale" hour of 8. No Brave, no Tintin. Found Unstoppable and Columbiana, though, and Kubrick 3/blus, and Gone with the Wind ($2). Disappointing, but at least not disappointing at midnight on a snowy winter's night. For that I give thanks.

Forgot to look for the Kubrick BD's. Picked up Last of the Mohicans and Kingdom of Heaven for 3.96 each. Also picked up the Chuck Norris 3 pack for 7.96.

Wanted to look some more but everyone started ripping through everything just before 8 and I did not feel like fighting the mob.

In CA found BRAVE, PLANET OF APES, and a few others. I was in the first group in line. They had about 30 copies of Brave.

Re: WalMart Black Friday Ad 2012

Went there tonight at 7:00pm PT. Got the stuff that I wanted and had to hang around until 8pm when the items officially went on sale.

Stood in line for almost 45 minutes. Lines were crazy. Luckily I was directed to a much shorter line by one of the clerks.

Anyways I bought:

All 8 Harry Potter BD's for $3.96 each

Pretty Little Liars season 2 DVD for $9.96

Vampire Diaries season 3 DVD for $9.96

Kinect Sports double pack (seasons 1 and 2) for $15. I already have season 1, so I'm going to trade that in now that I have both seasons in 1 case.

2 Copies of Brave BD at $8.96 each and I used the $6 off DMR coupon

Burlesque BD for $8.96

Here's the head scratcher, I picked up Snow White and the Huntsman and was actually overcharged.

I think I have to go in tomorrow and get a price adjustment.

In the store that I went to, the BD display was in the center aisle. The DVDs were in the back.

I looked at my receipt and was charged $19.96. I thought it was supposed to be $8.96

If that Snow White and Huntsman BD didn't have the promo sticker, and a new bar code sticker on the backside, then it's just normal store stock. You have to find one with the promo sticker and different bar code sticker.

Re: WalMart Black Friday Ad 2012

I was able to break into the pallets early so I kind of had my pick. I stuck mostly to the $3.96 titles.

$3.96

The Poseidon Adventure
Fight Club
30 Minutes or Less
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Iron Man

$8.96
Brave (Had to go to the electronics department to get one)

Re: WalMart Black Friday Ad 2012

First WM I went to, before store opening, had a RIDICULOUS line. They actually let everyone in the store before 8:00, but we weren't allowed to touch anything. Then at 8:00 a buzzer went off, and absolute frenzy ensued. I got a bunch of titles quickly, then briefly looked in toys, tried to check out, only to discover the checkout line began on the other end of the store. By the time I made it over there, the line was so long I said fuck it. I left everything behind. Went to Target for their opening. Got in the store within 10 minutes, grabbed what I wanted, and checked out immediately. Difference between night and day...

I did go to a different WM an hour later, and found most of the titles I had from the first store, but definitely not all of them. Got a few different ones, so it worked out about the same. I bought:
3.96:
Percy Jackson
Unstoppable
The Rite

5.00:
Robin Hood (Crowe)

7.96:
Fast Five
Your Highness
New Years Eve

8.96:
Battleship
Grown-Ups

I went ahead and finally picked up the first two Fast and Furious movies for $3.96. I would have picked up Toyko Drift as well, but for some reason that was at the $7.96 price point which seemed odd to me.

I survived both walmarts. I got Taken EE 2 disc, Xmen First Class, The Matrix, Battle: Los Angeles. 3 of the four were $3.96...XMFC was $7.96. Not a bad day. I got some more rubbermaid tupperware too. Not a bad day.

I was pleasantly surprised that my WM had blu-rays of "Alien" and "Aliens" for $3.96. They also had the Goonies/Gremlins 3 pack. I was very happy. I would have gotten "Alien 3" but they didn't have it.

Re: WalMart Black Friday Ad 2012

This was the easiest WM BF for me in years. Got there around 6:30 PM. Almost all the BDs I really wanted were in 1 section and I stood right in front of it. Brought along a big garbage bag to put them in. (I go by myself and there's no way you can move around the frenzy with a cart). Dumped everything I might want into the bag and headed to the cash registers to sort it out. Stopped by to look at the Avengers 8-packs for $25. It looked like the assortment of figures was strange and there were multiple versions of Iron Man or villians that were not even part of the movie. Found out later that there were different assortments. Anyway, was hoping for a better assortment of figures. 20 min, in the checkout lane and I was out of there. Most of these were for others but the first 5 or so were for me. Particularly stoked to get Poseidon Adv.

Got:
Anastasia
Poseidon Adventure
30 Minutes or Less
Unstoppable
Goldfinger
Percy Jackson
Fight Club
Iron Man 1D
LOTR 1/2/3 BD/DVD
Taken
4 HP movies

1.96
2 Scooby-Doo movies I didn't have
Gone with the Wind SE DVD

8.96
Act of Valor (blind buy I may return)

9.00
TMNT triple feature
Lost Boys Triple Feature
Specialist / Assassins/ Cobra

Picked up Fight Club for $3.96 which made me really happy. Couldn't find any of the BD copies of Tintin in the store. Oh well!

Both of my friends got most of what they wanted too!

Grabbed a copy of Colombiana on Blu-ray for myself, as well as Goldfinger and Alien for gifts -- all priced at $4. Pretty bland year, and it was picked over something fierce even at ~6:45 this morning.

Though, I was able to get in on the 2 for $12 Brave deal yesterday before I went into a food coma.

Re: WalMart Black Friday Ad 2012

I was disappointed in my Walmart this year. Not only did they have fewer movie and game displays, but a lot of them had empty spots before they were unwrapped. There were several titles in the ad (Battleship BD in particular) that weren't in any displays I found because I checked them all before they were unwrapped. To make it more difficult they spread the movies and games all over the food section so I wasn't able to snag everything quickly and several ran OOS by the time I was able to move from 1 end of the store to the other. Sure, it spread the crowds out but it cost me getting a few BDs I wanted. The only Harry Potter BDs I saw (before unwrapping) were DH 1 & 2 which are the 2 I have. People who got the other Harry Potter BDs for $3.96 are lucky.

In every previous year I was able to order some BDs from Walmart.com, but this year everything I wanted was OOS by the time I heard about it. Target's movie and game deals also sucked pretty bad too, IMHO. Thankfully BB.com had some good stuff I was able to get online. As much as I dislike the YMMV-ness of every BB transaction (especially if any coupon or PM is involved), at least BB is leading in deals whereas everyone else is a laggard or follower. As long as this continues, as much as I dislike BB, I want them to stay in business and continue to have good specials.

Re: WalMart Black Friday Ad 2012

Oh man! I went all kenbenobi on the blu-rays at Walmart this time!!!

Was only going to get a few titles using the same strategy as last year, hit the urban stores long, long, after the crowds have died down.

So, Milwaukee East Capitol store around 04:30:

$3.96 -
Sucker Punch (2 disc Theatrical & Extended cut, both Blu-ray)
The Lord Of The Rings The Fellowship Of The Rings Theatrical (Blu-Ray + DVD Combo)
The Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers Theatrical (Blu-Ray + DVD Combo)
The Lord Of The Rings Return Of The King Theatrical (Blu-Ray + DVD Combo)
Iron Man x 2
Aliens
The Matrix
Horton Hears A Who 2008 (with Digital Copy)
The Princess Bride
Red Riding Hood Alternate Cut 2011
The Hangover
Batman Begins
Colombiana (with Ultraviolet)
Clash Of The Titans
300
Hellboy II: The Golden Army (with DVD Bonus Features)

$5.96 (after DMR Coupon) - Brave (2 Disc BD + DVD) x 2

$9.00 -
Goonies/Gremlins/Gremlins 2: The New Batch 3 pack x 2
TMNT 3 pack

Then 60th & Capitol around 05:30:

$3.96 -
The Dark Knight
The Boondock Saints
Kingdom Of Heaven Director's Cut
Goldfinger x 2
The Poseidon Adventure 1972
Taken (2-Disc Extended Cut)
Alien

$9.96 -Magic City Season 1 (DVD)

New Walmart at 91st & Silver Spring around 07:30, this one was unbelievable! They had consolidated the cardboard displays right up front by the register and someone had put hand written signs on the sides. Four of them said Black=3.96. So I grabbed a few of the ones with black PROMO stickers and scanned them, they came up as $7.96. But since that price was in 4 different spots on the floor I went up to checkout and the young lady said she knew they would scan at $7.96 but she would adjust them to $3.96!!! She had to do an override for each one.

Round 1 I got for $3.96 each -
Wrath Of The Titans
Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid/The Good The Bad And The Ugly/The Magnificent Seven x 2
Commando/Predator/The Terminator

As she was telling a manager that they were ringing up wrong (or that the signs were wrong?) I went back and grabbed these, also at $3.96 each after override -

Fantastic 4/Elektra/Daredevil
Delta Force/Missing In Action/Missing In Action 2
The A-Team 2010 (Unrated Extended + Digital Copy)

Plus got these at correct sale price of $3.96 -
Alien (with slipcover)
Aliens (with slipcover)
The Last Of The Mohicans Director's Definitive Cut

And then Target 124th & Capitol around 08:30:

$6 - American Graffiti (single disc)
$20 - The Walking Dead Season 2 (missed the Amazon sale, good enough price for me!)

All titles are single disc Blu-Ray unless otherwise noted. Maybe half are for gifts, some are for me.

The only thing I did not find that I was hoping for was From Russia With Love. Did that really show up at $3.96?

Goblin, well done on that BUTCH/GBU/MAG 7 triple feature! About a $1.35 apiece for a Blu Ray? Are you kidding me? Well done!

This wasn't the case at the Walmart I went to. Several of the discs I picked up I went to the shelves for so as to get them with slips. I got to it about 6am (they opened at 1am) and was surprised to find pretty much everything but Brave and Madagascar 3 (I thought that was also one of their $9 titles, but I could be wrong) was still readily available, with the clerks restocking the cardboard displays of the titles that were running low.

I figured out why I was overcharged for Snow White and the Huntsman for $19.96 last night. The Copy I picked up was a Walmart exclusive with a special bonus disc. I went back today and got my $11.96 back from the price adjustment.

Going to cancel my $7.99 order from Amazon. Gladly will pay the extra buck for the bonus disc.
