Hit the local DT; the rack was pretty full & the checker said there were more boxes. What was interesting is that dvd's seemed to be outselling blu's 4 to 1. The rack was still fairly full & the blu's were segregated. Quality of titles MAY have been the reason.

I have three Dollar Trees in a three mile radius. Hit all three this morning but they were pretty much picked clean. One store did have a few of the big box sets though, including an ESPN Films set with what may be a store exclusive attached.

I hit most of the stores Friday, since the 3 I looked at Thursday didn't have anything out yet.
This sale seems more divided as two of the stores I went to only had DVD's, no blu-ray's to be found.

two stores around me in SoCal also have had restocks - ONLY DVDs and no BDs..Yet they were all being scooped up eagerly

By the time I made it back in to look at the other boxes, they were already out & picked through. I miss the days when I bought a ton for my net business & got to look at Big Lots boxes before they hit the floor.

You'd be proud of me- I restrained myself from buying stuff that would further clutter up my shelves. The ESPN sets looked really nice, but 1) I'm not into sports and 2) they exist on Blu-Ray, so buying them on DVD would be a waste. There was a 5-disc set of BMX videos too which I also passed up.

Keep in mind the ESPN Blu Ray set was also showing up at some stores and could have cluttered up your shelves less.

I don't believe anybody's mentioned finding The Almighty Johnsons season 1, which has popped-up at a few local DT's. I've never heard of the series myself, but bought 2 sets, possibly just for the lovely non-eco, 14mm 3-disk cases.

I believe it was a New Zealand production or something that got picked up by Syfy for broadcast here. I have no idea why anyone thought it would be a big Blu-ray seller.

When this last batch of media was being reported, I started checking my store daily. It's nice when many times you don't have to get out of the car to look--a glance through the front door can usually indicate if there are solar lights or something else.

It was last Saturday afternoon that things were put out for me--the display was actually 1/2 media and 1/2 solar lights. :)

I was very pleased to grab:

Heroes Season 3 (BD)
The Identity (BD)
30 Rock Season 3 (DVD)
ESPN Film Collection Vol. 1 (5 DVD set)
SEC Storied: Volume 1 (DVD--5 films)
ESPN 30 for 30: Season 2, Films 1-15 (DVD, along with a bonus disc of shorts on the back)
Teddy Roosevelt: An Adventurous Life which includes DVD (The indomitable Teddy Roosevelt), Sophisticated Sousa CD & Historic Archives/Booklet

Pretty good haul for $7.xx

Not much else in the way of BDs that I noticed, at least worth mentioning.

I ran into one location today that had put out a small assortment of BDs and DVDs upfront from what I believe was the last shipment a couple of weeks back.

Picked up American Hero, Assassination, The Innkeepers and Billionaire Ransom on Blu-ray. Interesting DVDs included a couple of animated DC features, including Justice League: Gods and Monsters.

JoeySeven mentioned it over in the DVD Bargains thread, so I figured that somebody should mention it here: DVDs and Blu-rays are the upcoming "Item of the Week." My local store has them out already, although they were on the electronics aisle and not in the IotW display area at the front of the store. I picked up nine Blu-rays:

I've been to all the stores here in town either Friday, or Saturday, and about half had the movies out. Two of the ones today had them in the front "Item of the Week" bins, but I've also seen them in electronics, and on endcaps.

One out of four locations I visited had them out this weekend. Some stores put their inventory out as soon as it comes off the truck, while other stores wait for the advertised date.

The list of all available BDs in this batch is pretty erratic and variable. I got such unheralded movies as

One of the local stores put out some new DVDs and BluRays today, and I saw literally nothing that's been mentioned by other posters. I didn't get a complete list, but the BluRays I did see included:

According to a poster over at BR.COM the new stock is schedule to be out this Friday.But some stores already have their stock out for sale. I mean this is DT we are talking about.:D

The tittles are kind of meh, about 90/10 in favor on dvd's at the one store in my town.

Br.com dt thread has a post #9870 of all tittles found so far.

Thank you! I don't see any titles of interest that I don't already own; but that said most of the best films I've seen lately have been dollar tree blind buys!

All i can do is swing by store close by and see if they have any out and hope all the good stuff not gone lol cause of collectors or resellers any. i saw some of list above, but in way easier just to go and see what possible at time so not get mad if what u want is not there cause other stockpile for own gain or get for others who cant get for themselves at time.

Those of you that didn't see anything last week could try now, it seems some of the stores hold the stock until it's supposed to be out.

I went back to the stores where I didn't find anything last week, and they all had them out now as the deal of the week.

I only went to one store. They had a lot of stuff, 95% of which I'd never heard of. 14 blind buys blu & dvd; + 1 Twilight Zone dvd of rarities (These episodes were not on the dvd box, I will have to look before I open it to see if they're on the blu box). At $1.00 each (actually $1.11 with our criminal sales tax) if any become an empty case I'll live!

They also had Experimenter on DVD which I picked up last time.

I got paranorman from different place cause had dvd as well in it so nice buy at time, can try score more another time to give any shopper a chance to score some till they have new stuff again. guessing they get them every 3 months or more since last time they got any was like back in april or march sometime. did score some br only cause had dvd in it so was nice to have some i really wanted at time.
