Re: Apparently U&S is back on October 7th

Picked up Prometheus 4 disc, Saw the Final Chapter, and Scream 4. Didn't expect to be that few movies I want, and I have 2 coupons still to use in the next 2 days. My store was out of Taken, so i'm hoping i'll find that in another store, and then find one more movie.

Re: Apparently U&S is back on October 7th

Only 4 for me on this round of U&S:
1. 6 film action pack (Echo Bridge, yup, can't believe I bit)
2. I Spit on your Grave double feature
3. X-Files double feature
4. PA-3

May pick up Madagascar 1 and 2 if I feel like it...

plenty of new Halloween sale titles too - mostly $4.99 to $6.99

Always an important thing for Manzana and his ever changing mind and second guessing himself on purchases Kid because I care, but all kidding aside would definitely purchase at Target 1st for the 5% off in particular if the 2 stores were equal in price.
Schloob1 and FranklinShepard, thanks for the replies. I'll assume then that most BB stores got ~15 copies of Pete's Dragon, and when I got there in the evening I was seeing the remaining 4. I'm glad that BB got enough in to last until then. I have no idea how many Target got, but I'd guess they got far fewer than BB.

I still can't grasp that we're in the minority owning BD players. This week due to various errands, I was at 3 different BBs and had time to kill browsing the movies for about 25 minutes at each store. There were plenty of people in the BD aisles but nobody in the DVD ones. I exercised great restraint not re-buying $4.99 BDs (after U&S) that I already owned on DVD. I think I had about 12 items on my want list, and over the last 2 weeks I got 9 BDs total with U&S (all $4.99 ones except Pete's Dragon and Prometheus 3D). The other 3 I wanted were OOS at each store. So lately I've found myself getting far more annoyed at BB and Target over their inventory (being OOS) than having coupon issues. In fact, recently I've had no problem using Universal or coupon.com coupons at BB on top of the U&S, but it's always YMMV. It doesn't mean that BB is suddenly "coupon heaven" but rather that I simply got lucky with nicer employees recently. Going to different BB stores also helps.

As cool as U&S is, for every week they have this program over the years at most I get 4 $4.99 BDs and often less. I'm amazed others can find so many titles to get, but then I guess I've been collecting longer and already have a lot, and I still can't afford to upgrade all my DVDs to BDs at $4.99 + tax a pop. So I'm done until Tuesday when I'll get 2 of the 3 James Bonds at BB. I still haven't decided on Secret of the Wings 3D.

I'll be shocked if that isn't cheaper come BF week.

Hit 2 stores and picked up 5 titles. Probably wanted Taken, especially with movie cash more than anything but was out of stock at both places.

Re: Apparently U&S is back on October 7th

well thought I was finished until the Prometheus coupon popped up. Picked up 3 more today.

Prometheus 3D - 14.99
Paranormal Activity 3 (only to complete my collection) - 4.99
Evil Dead 2 - 4.99

I thought I saw somewhere that people were getting Evil Dead 2 for 2.99, but I don't see a coupon anywhere ... and it rings up 9.99. How was it done?

Oh I'm sure it will be, but my wife and I are tearing through the series to get caught up so we can get current. She loves it, so it's worth the extra $$$ for me.

There is a $2 coupon for any Anchor Bay horror blu-ray in The Walking Dead S2 blu-ray set.

That Anchor Bay coupon wouldn't work for Evil Dead 2 SE. That's a Lionsgate BD.

Re: Apparently U&S is back on October 7th

Here's a tip - the James Bond exclusives (Spy Who Loved Me, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service) show as in-stock and available for pickup right now.

I ordered all three (@ $9.99 each) today. Got the confirmation that they ARE available for me to pick up at any time. When I go tomorrow, I'll see if they'll let me retroactively apply the U&S to the discs.

Re: Apparently U&S is back on October 7th

I had 1 coupon left tonight. Got it a few days ago for checking if I was eligible for a phone upgrade, which I wasn't since I still have 1 more year left on my plan.

Anyways, I picked up the Woody Harrelson movie "Rampart" for $4.99 after the coupon.

I also had the $2 off an Anchor Bay Horror DVD/BD from my Walking Dead season 2 set.

Used it to pick up "Frozen" for $5.99 after coupon

Also picked up a few more of the horror movies on sale.

Creepshow (BD) for $6.99

Creepshow 2 (DVD) for $4.99

Trick R Treat (BD) for $6.99

I picked this up too. Realized upon doing so that I had become much more selective since I started purchasing BDs. I think this was my first blind buy. Hope it's a good one. All the reviews on the case caused me to think it would be.

Re: Apparently U&S is back on October 7th

Hey guys. I have a question. And you'll probably think it's a dumb one. I came across some dvd's I forgot about, and am interested in doing the U&S program. I know today is the last day. Do the coupons have to be used today, or are they good for a bit after? I really appreciate any help. Thank you.

You need to take them in today and use them today. They won't work tomorrow. If you don't think there's anything you want, just save your DVDs for the next time they do this, which will probably be about 3 months away.

Cool. Thanks! Are the coupons normally good for the duration of the program?

This. And, I've found this round of sales they haven't even been giving coupons and, just giving the discount when you bring up your selection. When you ask for the coupon it becomes a giant headache. That could just be me stores though.

Consistent with what everyone else posted - no coupons, and getting them to use the Universal coupon in conjunction with U&S took about 15 min as no one seemed to know how to work the register. Also a much smaller haul this go round:

E.T.
Iron Man 2
Predator
Red Dawn

I'm going to try my luck later. I've already gotten Prometheus 3D, Great Mouse Detective and Total Recall. Unfortunately alot of my want list is either not available in store or cheaper/same price on amazon.

Re: Apparently U&S is back on October 7th

I had 1 coupon left, so I made a final trip. Two other times, I had no trouble. But this time, I had to show the cashier at customer service that BB policy shows that you can use 1 BB coupon with 1 manufacture's coupon together for a blu-ray. They had ran out of coupons a few days earlier. When she saw I had one coupon, she's starts questioning me on where I got that coupon? Did I trade in a dvd? I told her, "how else could I get the coupon if I didn't trade a dvd in". Bought Chronicle and Prometheus 3D. I was going to buy one more with my last coupon and she wouldn't except it because I didn't have the receipt with it. Then went to my car and left the 2 blu-rays I just bought there and took the coupon receipt I just got and went to the registers and bought Shaun of the Dead. No questions asked there.
