You wouldn't have gotten the bonus disc but it's mainly just filler anyway.

The set was in the rumor mill to be extensive and vast since before TDKR even came to theaters and when they finally announced it was like "Huh?".

I don't think you got a bad deal because I don't know how you could've gotten all three SteelBooks for under $20 total.

The BB TDKR exclusive was marked down to $7.99 but they don't sell it in stores anymore, and the other two are $14.99 a piece without any promotional discount, so I don't know.

E Unit

I don't see it as filler since it has a great documentary on the making of the trilogy, a one on one with Nolan and Richard Donner (it was okay), and all IMAX sequences in the original ratio. For me, this this why the set was worth the price.

My Other Self

It certainly wasn't enough to justify a double dip for people that didn't already own the other movies, though. That's part of the reason the set was so disappointing.

The first 2 steelbooks were $9.99 when TDKR came out during an U&S sale and could be had for $5 each. Then the TDKR steelbook was clearanced for $7.99.

You forgot to mention the first 2 movies weren't remastered. That was one of the biggest disappointments. But I love the trilogy overall, so that's why I was happy to pick it up for the price I did. More than likely in the next year, they'll probably sell for something in the $30's range.

Yeah, I know. Like I already mentioned, TDKR SB was out of stores back in September after the clearance and the other 2 movies were $9.99 back in July (minus the U&S coupon).

Indeed. Another reason I personally decided against picking it up. But again, I don't think you got hosed since everytime I've gone in to the store I saw it's regular shelf price was $84.99.

Well, he can't now but he already had the 3 steelbooks. He just sold it to offset the cost of the set. I think the argument is that the complete collection doesn't offer anything really substantive to justify the high price tag and since he already had the 3 steelbooks, there wasn't a need to spend more money for a few toys, same discs, and minimal new extras. I personally think the deal is great IF you didn't already have the films in any other iteration but it's a personal choice.

There's a cardboard display for several BBC series and noticed they have Doctor Who: The Complete Sixth Series on Blu for $22.99. Not sure if this is just for this week or if it's part of a separate promotion they have going right now.

Last year around this time they had Doctor Who Series Five, Doctor Who Series Six, Torchwood Series 1, Torchwood Series 2, and Torchwood Children of Earth blu-rays on sale for $19.99 each.

I'd pick up series seven at that price, but it looks like that's the one that's on sale. I was sort of hoping this year they would have these on sale again with Doctor Who Series 7 and Torchwood Miracle Day added in.

The Best Buy stores that had copies started clearancing them out in late August. It's going to be tough to find any at this point especially in stores that have switched to the new planogram layout. However, as of late October, some folks have reported finding copies of the steelbook in the $7.99 bins. So, there's a chance you might come across one but it's a pretty small chance.

Best Buy had a bunch of new steelbooks out today. All five Fast and Furious movies, the new Lionsgate and Miramax ones, and more copies of Snow White and the Huntsman, Les Miserables, and Safe House (this time in a blu ray sized case).

What gets me is why put out DVD sized steelbooks (Fast Five, Safe House), just to release them later in blu ray sized steelbooks. I bought both the first time around, so I'm not buying them again. Makes no sense. Oh, and the new Fast and the Furious steelbooks have horrible cover art. The only thing kinda cool is each one has the number of the franchise on the back. So I guess that will continue with the Fast and Furious 6 exclusive steelbook they have coming out.

Ordered all of the available BF titles this morning during the Elite Preview. Unfortunately, they didn't include everything. Just a dozen or so titles in each category. Still scored some good ones though, like The Conjuring, Skyfall, 42, and The Evil Dead for $7.99 each.
