Thought I was done with this sale except for picking up 50/50 next week, but I caved and upgraded both seasons of Rome for $19.99 each. My DVD sets have only been watched once, so I figure I can probably sell them for around $15 or so each.

I haven't seen them at BB either. But yesterday I found an entire section of an aisle at Target loaded with the 100th Anniversary DVD's and BD's, together.

Has anyone here worked at Best Buy? There was one time a couple years ago when I was looking for a movie on sale, and they were out of stock. The guy there said that they get their deliveries on Tuesday, and to check back then. I know new releases come out then, so it's obvious that they would get a delivery, but I would assume that they get stuff more frequently than that. Anyone know?




I work part time for Anderson Merchandisers, and they now do all the Best Buy inventories, promos and stocking for their movie and music sections. This started about last June (2011). We seem to get product in all the time, but mainly we get decent shipments at the beginning and the end of the week. All non-new releases are put out as soon as possible, but in the afternoon there may be product in the back room, so ask. New releases are sometimes received up to two weeks early, so if you get a sympathetic merchandiser, they may let you in on what is going to be put out. Also, most of the merchandisers are only there until 11 AM or the latest about 3:30 PM, so go early. BB employees that work in media are moved from other departments, so they may not know as much as they did in the past.

Had a chance to go to a bigger store today and got the following:

Traffic - $1.99 (used $3 coupon, was going to get the criterion eventually to upgrade my DVD version, but couldn't resist at this price)
Galaxy Quest, Once upon a time in the west and Billy Elliot - $4.99
Memento - $6.99

It's nice that all three have digital copies.

stopped by to use the other 2 coupons I have. Picked up Edge of Darkness and Push for $5 each. After the guy scanned the coupons, he asked the magical question. "Would you like to keep the coupons?" I shouldn't have an issue picking 2 more titles.

I also went ahead and picked up the $.01 game of thrones sampler dvd. I dislike the show but maybe I can trade it in at some later date for a discount off a bluray.

Did a couple of easy ones with some misc dvds I had laying around. Got Three Amigos for $7.99 and Good Morning Vietnam for $9.99. Might do more next week or might be done at this point. Done 4 to this point, Braveheart, Darkman. and these two and quite satisfied how easy this went despite 3 different stores.

made a 4th trip yesterday. hit the best buy in farmington hills michigan on orchard lake. they had lots of the $9.99 blu's in stock. picked up superbad,the crow,braveheart,halloween,friday night night lights. that makes it 18 total for this deal. probably done at this point.

I didn't. They let me use the 100th anniv universal coupons on any universal BD. So far also used on Out of Africa and Smokin' aces.

Order it online as it is free shipping for most blu-rays. They ship quick and it should arrive before the end of next week. Bring to nearest store, return and rebuy with upgrade and save.

I have done it several times already.

Galaxy Quest BD was mentioned above as being $4.99 after the $5 coupon. Their web site says $19.99 and I don't remember seeing it for $9.99 in their weakly ad. Did I miss a sale on this or was it a YMMV matter of someone finding packages with incorrect stickers?
