My delivery of the Halloween titles (976-EVIL and Sleepwalkers) seemed pretty fast; maybe 10 days from UK to Chapel Hill, NC. --Peter

How often do you watch the films? That's usually the determining factor for me. Or do you love/enjoy it enough to want to upgrade your dvd's?

You've got a very good point. On the one hand I have upgraded so many film & music cd's it's ridiculous (& with music many of the upgrades end up being downgrades).

On the other hand, while I have too many movies to watch anything often, Caligari, Faust & Nosferatu are on my top 100 list of all time. The MOC dvd's were a major upgrade from the Kino's; & I have an Oppo so I suspect the blu's will be a significant upgrade; though if the Oppo ever dies getting another multiregion blu player of that quality isn't going to be easy or cheap. I have a number of region B blu's, so I'm already taking that risk....................

Re: International Blu-ray deals

I caved (even at the slightly high exchange rate, no tax & free ship makes this a great deal! $13.13 per set delivered internationally with best picture quality available) Amazon USA sells the same White Reindeer for $18.74 + tax (aprox 10.2% for me)

Das Cabinet Des Dr. Caligari (Dual format) × 1 £10.00
Faust (Dual format) × 1 £10.00
The White Reindeer (Dual Format) × 1 £10.00
Nosferatu (Blu-ray) × 1 £10.00

Re: International Blu-ray deals

Part of my horror sale MOC order arrived today.
Eureka must split their big orders. I ordered 12 tittles .This is my 3rd or 4th big order from MOC, and can not remember if they split my other orders.
I'm not complaining ,They use Air mail and it is free and fast. look forward to what they are going to release each month.
And received Sleepwalkers and 976-Evil last week.
Kind of went crazy.. again

Kind of bum I did not pick up Fuller At Fox, Five Films 1951-1957 boxset when it was available awhile back.

Also they should have a BF sale next month.

Re: International Blu-ray deals

I'd really like to get the Lugosi/Poe 3 film set, but hoping for a sale. I already have all 3; but an MOC blu will have the best transfer.

Solid prices. Reasonable shipping. Got 6 (have to purchase multiples of 3 for discounted price). Thank you

Re: International Blu-ray deals

Fast MOC delivery from the UK to the USA: shipped 10/29; arrived 11/5. This is going to be the first time I've tried the blu region hack since Oppo replaced my blu-ray decoder board. I'll admit I'm slightly nervous; though the same hardware hacks out of region dvd's & I've already confirmed that's still working.

Re: International Blu-ray deals

The documentaries on both Nosferatu & Faust will not display the subtitles on my Oppo BDP-95, though the machine says there are subs and they are turned on. The subs on the films are both fine. On the separate Nosferatu DVD set I already owned, I have no trouble with the subs. The doc is not on the Faust dvd's. Any thoughts? I've written MOC twice; they replied once asking for clarification which I provided.

Received Order from 10/22 on Friday 11/6 after being shipped on 10/28. 'The White Reindeer' and 'The Cure' did not come with slips though. Only 'Old Dark House' came with one

Re: International Blu-ray deals

If anyone wants the Waxworks restoration & can live with Blu-ray only; MOC is 18 pounds (a little over $23) delivered & is region free. Currently, Flicker Alley is $30 + shipping (not sure about sales tax) for a blu & dvd set.

I'm probably going to get the MOC along with their Lugosi/Poe 3 film box. I should wait for a sale, but since they're both recent releases I might be waiting awhile.

Re: International Blu-ray deals

At least they are writing you back. They only responded to my first email about issues with subtitles not displaying on the documentaries. Are you having any similar issues? I've finally been able to get all the docs to play with subs, but in each case it has taken 15-20 minutes of changing the subtitle position, ejecting & reinserting the discs, etc. I honestly don't understand exactly what I've done to solve the issue.

I've only experienced it on the 4 discs from this order, out of the hundreds of blu's I own. It doesn't seem to effect dvd's.

Oppo recently replaced the blu-ray decoding board. I'm starting to wonder if that's the issue. Odd, that it only impacts the main documentary on each MOC in this order, not the films or short docs.

When I finish Caligari, I'll play a few region A blu's with subs & see if there's any problem. It really irritates me that MOC only replied once. I have been very polite.

I think the Oppo has a difficulty with how some discs are authored. I've come across similar problems from a few tiny niche labels that don't use the large commercial authoring kits. For instance, the Oppo has real issues when special features are in different resolutions. If you switch between them on the fly, it locks up the player.

Re: International Blu-ray deals

This particular issue only started after they replaced the dead blu-ray decoding board. I've also discovered it impacts other region B brands. I suspect I got a slightly defective board. So far it's only impacting region "b"s, which I access with a hardware hack. Unless I can get a region A disc to act up., I don't expect Oppo to do much.

If I keep changing any related setting 9so far it appears to be random), the subs usually come on in 10 minutes or so. Frustrating.

Re: International Blu-ray deals

From BR.com reports that Amazon UK and few other European Amazon are now charging tax on orders sent to states that have charge a sales tax,
I just checked Amazon.UK and now they are adding tax in the Postage & Packing cost. You can click on the Tax added option to see how much.

I got a slip on White Reindeer.
Nice
I'm not a huge fan of slips. But really like most of ones that come on some boutique movie labels.
And like the one that came on the Goonies 4k is very nice ,even though it is damaged already.
Most likely sooner or latter it going to get some wear and tear.
