re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27
Yeah count me as one of the people who had like 20 movies eligible for DCs, but never redeemed them I got a new computer a month ago. I took a chance with most of them, happy that Disney extended theirs, so I could get ones that would have normally expired. Still wish I could have redeemed Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Inception though.

They are having a mastercard promotion Dec. 1 only. Buy 100 dollars worth sold by amazon.com and get 10 off and 10 off a future order. It is on amazon.com homepage. The link on homepage leads to coupon code. Must pay with mastercard.

Does the complete set have any exclusive content or pack-ins that can't be gotten by buying the individual seasons 1-4 + The Plan? Besides the giant slip case, of course.

Who knows how many movies I let the digital code waste on. I did give a few to my friend a while back as I'm the type of person who cannot watch a movie on their cell phone as it just bugs me and I'm not into buying a iPad or whatever for the price for a computer. And my computer is already packed with CDs and other useless information that I really don't need to download movies to it as if I really need to watch a movie, I can use the disc or just illegally download it (which I never do, unless it is a TV show I missed and want to catch up on).

Regarding Battlestar Galactica's prices:
- Complete Series (old packaging w/o The Plan) - $50 NBCUniversalStore.com (May 10), $135 Amazon (Jun 10), $114 Amazon (Jun 11)
- Complete Series (new packaging w/ The Plan) - $133 Amazon (Aug 10), $135 BB.com (Aug 10), $149 Amazon (Sep 10), $120 Amazon (Nov 10)
- Battlestar Galactica: The Plan - $16.49 Amazon (Apr 10), $15 Amazon or BBY.com (Apr 10), $12 Amazon (Aug 10), $10.78 DeepDiscount (Aug 10)
So, $110 for the new packaging will be the cheapest that has been, but a few lucky people got the old set for $50 at NBC. They had a free "get the new packaging" deal a while back which I used to upgrade my old packaging to the new. Sadly I paid $154 (including tax) for everything, but unlike 99% of the other stuff I have which sits unopened on the shelf for years I actually watched the whole series when I got it.
Regarding Digital Copies, I have never redeemed 1 and I have SO many included in various packages. I got an iPod Touch as a bank gift (so it basically cost me $50 vs. Target had it for $145 I think recently) which supposedly can play digital copies, but I've been too busy to use it. I got the iPod Touch about a month ago and loaded iTunes to get past the configuration screen, got to the main menu, said "cool... it looks like it'll be fun to play with", ran out of time, turned it off, and haven't touched it since. Maybe around Christmas.

I posted this in the Mastercard coupon thread already, but I figured it is worthy of a double-post since it is truly a smokin' Amazon deal:
You can combine multiple promotions at once… Bare with me here. Yesterday a LINK was posted to get a free $10 GC with $50 purchase at Target (which expires 12/3). I just found out that it works EVEN IF YOU BUY GIFT CARDS. You could buy $50 in AMAZON gift cards, which would be discounted to $48.00 if you use your Red Card, and still get the $10 Target GC. If you do that TWICE (using your FREE $10 GC the 2nd time), you spend $86 to get $100 at Amazon and $10 at Target. Then on Amazon, you can use the $10 off a $100 purchase with code ZKGYLEBT. Note that you only need to use a Mastercard for PART of the payment. So if you place an order for $110.01+, you can use your $100 in Amazon GC’s and $10 coupon, and pay the rest on your Mastercard.
Net cost for a $110 Amazon purchase: $76 (counting the $20 Target GC’s like cash, $5 Red Card savings, and $10 Amazon coupon). That’s 31% off, plus you'll still get that other $10 off $50 Amazon coupon later!

^I'm assuming that $10 off $50 coupon will work with any gift cards, not just Amazon, right? I might have to go pick up some for Christmas.
AFAIK, the Red Card does not discount gift card purchases...unless they changed something in the past year.

If you shop at all at target it is good to have the target red card. If you don't want another credit card you can get a targe debit card.
I doubt very much target gives the 5% discount for gift card purchases so Kenbenobi can you say how you figured that part out? I have never seen a gift card that you could use a coupon to buy anywhere.

Well, my Target doesn't even sell Amazon gift cards. It must be an Illinois thing. The Best Buy here doesn't sell the Kindle gift cards, but the stores on the Missouri side do. It wasn't a waste of a trip though, as I was able to pick up another 1 year PS+ card for $14. Thanks anyways, kenbenobi.
As for the Red Card, I've seen several people on CAG saying that it does in fact work on gift cards. It must just be the Target gift cards that it doesn't discount.

Yes, however it isn't $10 OFF $50. It is a free $10 GC with purchase of $50. The Red Card discount applies to any GC EXCEPT Target GC's. They don't discount those.

I just bought 8 of them. They are Amazon Kindle GC's, in the Electronics section by the Kindle products. On Amazon's site, they are just like any regular GC. You don't have to use them on Kindle books...

I'm not so sure. After a time, Warner dumbs down their BDs from combos to BD only. I'd have to check my combo at home but the DC might have come on the DVD disc.
Another factor is that the download code expires one year after release, which was 12/7/2010, so if you do get it, you need to download it right away.

#130? This is a order or this is a LD? I order one today to replace the older set I have on DVD. Like one of the other posters. This is a show I can watch again and again (in the background). The DVD suck (ya it does) so I am hoping this works (did not pay for the 1st one so I really cannot bitch much).
