Heck of a deal right now on the BD & Digital Copy of Cabin in the Woods at 33 dollars and some spare change. I hope we get a much better price than this as the release day closes in.

I literally just looked at the price and came here hoping for some kind of explanation as to why it is so high. Hoping for that $19.99 price.

This happens sometimes--new releases just slip under the radar and will show as little as 10% off. It will change at some point before street date.

Was gonna jump on Angel Heart, but it is $10.00 now.

FYI, I don't know why, but on one account I was suddenly offered a 1-month trial of Prime again. I checked my other account, and was not. So I have Prime again, for a limited time. Since I had a LOT of pre-orders for the next few months, I was able to edit all of those orders to get 2-day shipping (even though they are shipping well after my Prime trial ends.)

Angel Heart exists in a double pack with Johnny Handsome on BD, and I think I've seen that double pack for $10 or less in the past. Keep your eyes peeled and Angel Heart will be $5 again or that double pack $10 or less... they aren't considered top tier premium movies/BDs. I haven't seen either movie, but the double pack for $2.99 was 1 of the few good deals I got at Ultimate Electronics' store closing.

Regarding Prime, I haven't had a Prime trial for about 15 months. I've gotten free 1 month Prime trial offers a few times recently, but my understanding from some promo text I read (when reading about Amazon Mom) said you can only have 1 Prime trial per 18 months (IIRC). 18 months will be the beginning of November which is exactly when I'd like a Prime trial for BF week, so I've chosen to pass on these recent 1 month trials out of fear that taking 1 now would prevent me from getting 1 in November when I need it. Last year I survived BF week without Prime, but it would be easier to have it this year.

Also, the Amazon Mom Prime trial I saw said it was for 3 months, but I wasn't eligible yet. So I'm hoping a 3 month trial will be available in November. I think you can re-sign up for Amazon Mom. Who knows. It's all very confusing.

No, you can't re-sign up for Mom (at least, I haven't been able to). But I never did Mom on my other account. I'm saving that one for November. I didn't want to pass up this Prime offering, since I haven't seen a non-Mom Prime offer in forever (although based on what you said, probably 18 months ago)

I'm tracking my orders this year, to see if I can justify buying it. So far, I haven't ordered much from Amazon this year. Obviously I will more around the holidays. I know I won't use the streaming much. If they charged half of what they do, and did not include streaming, I'd buy it instantly. I just don't know if I'll get $80 worth out of it... Also, I'm kinda SAVING money by not having Prime. I noticed that when I have Prime, I order things I wouldn't otherwise order (due to the $25 minimum for free shipping). So it maybe is a good thing I don't have Prime year-round...

I got Prime before streaming and still haven't used it that much. Also, I figured I was spending a little more trying to pad my orders to hit $25. But we're all different.

Re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27

My wife and I decided to stick with Prime after her first free year was up (if you take at least one college course, you can get it for 4 years at $40/year). We don't have cable, so having the streaming with it is a big plus. But on the negative side, since you can get free 2 day shipping on pretty much anything, we have gotten a couple more things than normal due to impulse buying

Wait. You have restraint when it comes to buying things? I didn't notice with the bb upgrade sales!

Yeah, I go back and forth on whether I should get Prime. I've had it about 16 months over the years, with various promos, never paying full price. I think I bought more back when I had it. So do I regret some of those spontaneous purchases? Or regret the things I've added just to hit $25? Would I watch much of the free Prime streaming? I could argue myself into either direction. I know I'd buy it if they put it on sale for $59 again.

Been getting it for $40/year for a while (don't remember what promotion it was). Between my dad and I using it, it's been a great purchase. The free 2-day shipping is awesome, especially when I need/want items in a hurry.
