Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

My store priced the multi season sets at $10, $15, or $20 "Untouchables" Seasons 1-3 (of 4 total) and "I Love Lucy Seasons 1-5 were $20. Most were $10 or $15.

My local store had most of the classic TV sets. I like 50's & some 60's tv, but I couldn't find a thing I wanted even at 20% off.

I don't like I Love Lucy, Westerns, Andy Griffith, or some of the new ones they had like Dynasty & CSI. There were many more titles than that, but the only thing I had in my hand was the MGM Count Yorga double feature from Black Friday & I put that back. Bought some paper towel without the coupon.

I saw the same at one location this week. The House season on BD was season 6. Also found/bought NCIS season 12 on BD.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I am guessing like what happens at like dt or thrift anytime is seasons arrive new or used but watchable and u gotta decide which u want most. i been lucky to score stil sealed copies of shows at thrift when i checkd anytime. and was decent price if not pre tagged. even dt get some shows sometimes and 99 cent store get scatterd season on dvd any. so biglots gets shows but depends what u want for the price cause i check on extras any and that sells me if can get at time. but have so much media that gotta wait and do random checks when i can do so anytime.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

The downside to the promo is that the majority of BDs carried by Big Lots currently seem to be at the $5 price point. And I probably own most of what I want that's cheaper. I did stop by my 2 closest locations today. One had moved their Black Friday display just inside the front door with a sign advertising the freebie. The 2nd had no signage at all. I did find a title I hadn't seen yet on BD for $3 --the Jason Statham film 13.

I'm fortunate in that I have a few family members who have accounts and have no interest in a DVD/BD, so I also picked up a couple of DVDs -- The Book of Love and a Richard Pryor double feature (Some Kind of Hero/The Busy Body)

I still have my in-law's Rewards account to use (I haven't asked for permission yet ). If they give me the ok, I'll probably go back for I Am Bruce Lee which was $2.88 and there were multiple copies available.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I may go in tomorrow. With Covid running rampant here, I tend to be hesitant to make a run just for BL & $T.

If BL had stuff I knew I wanted between the free dvd + 20% off coupon it would still be a no brainer. But it's been a long time since I found much at either of the 2 BL's in the city I live in.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I feel the same. I'm not going in, especially with 25% or more people not wearing masks, it not being enforced, and cases spiking because of Thanksgiving stupidity, just for a free disc. They've recently had little I've wanted anyway and a $3 disc that looks interesting is almost always a purchase meaning it'd be a lengthy perusal of everything just to snag a free, likely blind-buy, title.

My last visit was to do a curbside pickup of an order placed online and I used the 15% off sale combined with a 10% order pickup coupon *and* a 20% off coupon. The selection of stuff was much limited to what I know is in the store but I *did* get what I wanted/needed without the need to walk around with "mouth breathers" for a half-hour or more.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Has anyone seen CSI Miami seasons 7-10? There seem to be plenty of 1-3 and 4-6. On a recent shopping experience at BL I used a 20% off coupon, a 15% off Birthday coupon, $10 off $40 coupon and two $5 off $15 coupons for a total of ~$23 on $60 worth of stuff. I stock up on coffee and nuts at BL when I have coupons to use. Do note that discount coupons are always applied first. So if you are using a $10 off $40 coupon you must be at or above $40 after the discount coupons.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Nah, last i went to check for stuff black friday they still only had the first 2 cases of seasons for csi miami. they didnt even have rest of csi original series. cause got season 1 for 5 bucks then gave in and got the season 1 with other for like 10 i think. since blots is a closeout store like dt and 99 cent store, i wonder how they choose what to sell any or just get sent stuff and get rid of whatever they can anytime. not sure what they scan to order so i guess gotta wait and see and just snag the last seasons when u see them next trip any. i just happy i can score what i can and not gotta pay a fortune for seasons now days.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I came across the Blu-ray of NCIS: Season 12 for $5. Six-disc set. The I Love Lucy set for the same price is a great deal for one of the great seasons in television history. There's no intention of ever finishing out the show on Blu-ray, but at that price it's worth owning an orphaned set.

My Blu-ray copy of NCIS Season 12 ($5.00 from Big Lots) locks up in all my regular Blu-ray players, so I am forced to play the discs back in my PS4. Did I get a re-wrapped returned copy?

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Try think if it may have been a region restricted or not playable in player for any reason. but if plays and u can watch in ps4 then thats not bad atleast u can still watch them and not have to return for refund or exchange any.

Try cleaning the discs - even if they look clean. It's possible there's some residue on the discs causing the BR players to not be able to read them. Use 70% or higher rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I'd not planned to go to BL this weekend, free disc or not, but my wife's been making Hot Chocolate Bombs to sell and was in danger of running out of mini-marshmallows. So... off to BL we go.

I snagged my free disc (the BR of The 5th Wave - one I'd kind of looked at before but rejected. For free I can always reuse the case) and got a BR of I Love Lucy S1 - one I'd looked for the past few times I'd been in the store but didn't find.

So... it was a win all the way around. I got my discs, she got the marshmallows she needed (cleaned them out), added their entire stock of Ghirardelli white chocolate discs just in case (she makes both white and real chocolate versions) as those are harder to find, and snagged a few stocking stuffer candies for the grandkids.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Apparently a few people have found Watchmen's UHD for $3. Probably a random find that won't be duplicated that much but probably Big Lots' first 4K disc.

I saw Lucy 4K at Big Lots quite a while ago for $5 (post 613 2/19/19 - I looked it up). But a 4K for $3. That's definitely a new thing.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Seems now days we never know what places are gonna get as stores seem to have less media so these places get any by pallets or how ever they order or buy supply. but no wrong, if can score it cheaper then at reg store that has for more then what dt or biglots get stuff for now. even thrift stores have got stuff in past and sold for 2 bucks if not pre tagged. score what u can as cheap as possible lol.
