Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
No signs for clearance at store I went to last week. 4 movie DVD John Wayne set, High and Mighty, Hondo, Island In The Sky, and McLintock! stickered $5 . At checkout $1.25 less 20% coupon came to $1 plus tax.
|
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
The stores I visit almost never post any clearance signs or even mark their media with stickers.

Did you see a sign about this or did someone tell you? I bought a clearance title earlier today (a Mr. Selfridge BD that I had bypassed many times before). It was marked down from $5 to $1.25, but rung up at 93 cents. I didn't question it, but wondered why.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Yea, my place add clearance sticker to any media by chance as if they make a pile and random add sticker or give to certain media for any reason. so gotta really check all and add to basket so not gotta refind at same time or u back tracking and waste time lol. so far see none of mine get so cheap but guess it a sale and not really said of any unless by email or something as they try get rid of media since traffic does not buy it as much as before cause some or many have gone to streaming for all. but as i know and read, physical media is not gone just gotta grab and go so u got for when really wanna see again. have read and been told others try go back and rewatch any but teh stream removes it for space for new any so gotta grab at time. also have scored john wayne multi packs in past to where u gotta compare a pack to see which has more to get money worth any and by chance extra on cd any. i try do a no media get for month since got so much now so try save and score any gold later.

Stopped by my local Big Lots today and they got a handful of Blu-Rays & DVDs I didn't see the last time I went there.
Had my 20% coupon, so I picked up: The ABCs of Death (BD) The Dead Lands (BD) Merantau (BD) Officer Downe (DVD) Robert The Doll Triple Feature (DVD) |

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
It's always majorly hit-or-miss finding specific titles at Dollar Tree. Those have shown up at Dollar Tree but the chances of actually coming across them now are remote.

If you have a Dollar Tree(s) around, check them routinely - more or less the same Magnolia, Universal, Well Go, Warner dumps occur there as well. The first and third titles in your list are part of whats been found in DT.
The Dollar Trees that are closest to where I live don't usually have anything. Kind of a bummer since there are about 5 within a 10-15 minute radius. The last time I bought a bunch at various Dollar Trees, I drove to ones about 25-45 minutes away. |
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Yea, i wonder if biglots getting stuff we see at dt anytime? i mean biglots get a good mix of a or b movies but not many b-d movies like dt gets a mixed. i guess no matter cause dt only gets a shipment at start month i guess now but get picked over by workers by chance then stocked at some or many stores. i just glad i score some good if can at time and try not skip any that may sell after i jet.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
I encountered the Black Friday display at a store today! Unfortunately, there wasn't a great deal to get excited about. It was the typical cardboard display advertising $1.88/$2.88 titles. I bought a few and they rang up Black Friday on the receipt. The odd thing--the display is filled with a bunch of stuff you'd see in October (horror titles and the like) along with a bunch of family-friendly films and shows. Kind of an odd mix. Most everything was DVDs
Here are the BDs I noted: Battlefield America - $2.88 Dark Summer $1.88 Dead Souis - $1.88 Iron Man: Extremis / Spider-Woman: Agent of Sword - $2.88 Kill Katie Malone - $2.88 Here are some of the DVD "sets" I found: Adventures of Tintin: Season 1 - $2.88 Conan the Adventurer: Season 1 - $2.88 Cyber City Dedo 808: Vol. 1, 2 & 3 - $2.88 Dr. Katz Professional Therapist: Season 1 - $1.88 Dr. Katz Professional Therapist: Season 2 - $2.88 Jane by Design: Vol. 1 - $1.88 Melissa & Joey: Season 1, Part 1 - $1.88 Melissa & Joey: Season 1, Part 2 - $1.88 Superhero Squad Show: Vol. 1 & 2 - $1.88 In addition, the regular 4-sided rack had been restocked with the large brick multi-season TV shows. Most of the 'em were the same ones as before. I'm listing below what seemed new to me. Beverly Hillbillies: S1-4 - $15 Love Boat: S1-3 - $15 Vega$: Complete Series - $10 Have Gun Will Travel : S1-4 - $15 Untouchables: S1-3 - $20 I also noticed the Alfred Hitchcock Ultimate Collection (DVD) for $20. |
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Store restocked the videos but nothing that hasn't already been mentioned here. I did get the "I Love Lucy" Season 1 blu ray for $5 (actual $4 after 20% coupon). Lots of copies of the multiple season sets like "The Love Boat", "The Untouchables", " Have Gun Will Travel" "Laverne and Shirley" , "7th Heaven" , "4400" "Streets of San Francisco" etc, One of the "House" blu ray seasons was $5.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
My store priced the multi season sets at $10, $15, or $20 "Untouchables" Seasons 1-3 (of 4 total) and "I Love Lucy Seasons 1-5 were $20. Most were $10 or $15.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Yea last i went i had already got any i really wanted but can get otehrs later if want. last trip was black friday and if i had not checkd a displey close by i may have missed the sale any. and so got a nice half bag full cause was a mix of prices dpend on what u wanted so wishing was dt and may have got more but had to go with stuff of interest and then go back for others later if still by chance not sold when they on display or ad to metal setup they have the rest of media on . but compared to last year this year has a nice mix and not just all kinda cheap made movies lol. since walmart didnt want the traffic i waited for better.

I don't like I Love Lucy, Westerns, Andy Griffith, or some of the new ones they had like Dynasty & CSI. There were many more titles than that, but the only thing I had in my hand was the MGM Count Yorga double feature from Black Friday & I put that back. Bought some paper towel without the coupon. |

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Last trips to get any media i got some shows even if i already had season 1 of original csi lol , but they then stocked 1 to 3 or 4 and so i gave in and then for parent got 1-3 or more and then 4-6 of csi miami. i just know when ever i gotta move all media goes with me as it be my cable box so to speak since not big on streaming yet so have plenty to watch anytime lol. and if ever can sell or donate any to places for space or funds any later.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
A few more sets up have popped up on BD:
Star Trek Enterprise: Season 1 - $5 Under the Dome: Season 3 - $5 |
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
I am guessing like what happens at like dt or thrift anytime is seasons arrive new or used but watchable and u gotta decide which u want most. i been lucky to score stil sealed copies of shows at thrift when i checkd anytime. and was decent price if not pre tagged. even dt get some shows sometimes and 99 cent store get scatterd season on dvd any. so biglots gets shows but depends what u want for the price cause i check on extras any and that sells me if can get at time. but have so much media that gotta wait and do random checks when i can do so anytime.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Free DVD (up to $3) this weekend for reward members.
|
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
The downside to the promo is that the majority of BDs carried by Big Lots currently seem to be at the $5 price point. And I probably own most of what I want that's cheaper. I did stop by my 2 closest locations today. One had moved their Black Friday display just inside the front door with a sign advertising the freebie. The 2nd had no signage at all. I did find a title I hadn't seen yet on BD for $3 --the Jason Statham film 13.
I'm fortunate in that I have a few family members who have accounts and have no interest in a DVD/BD, so I also picked up a couple of DVDs -- The Book of Love and a Richard Pryor double feature (Some Kind of Hero/The Busy Body) I still have my in-law's Rewards account to use (I haven't asked for permission yet :) ). If they give me the ok, I'll probably go back for I Am Bruce Lee which was $2.88 and there were multiple copies available. |
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
I may go in tomorrow. With Covid running rampant here, I tend to be hesitant to make a run just for BL & $T.
If BL had stuff I knew I wanted between the free dvd + 20% off coupon it would still be a no brainer. But it's been a long time since I found much at either of the 2 BL's in the city I live in. |
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
I feel the same. I'm not going in, especially with 25% or more people not wearing masks, it not being enforced, and cases spiking because of Thanksgiving stupidity, just for a free disc. They've recently had little I've wanted anyway and a $3 disc that looks interesting is almost always a purchase meaning it'd be a lengthy perusal of everything just to snag a free, likely blind-buy, title.
My last visit was to do a curbside pickup of an order placed online and I used the 15% off sale combined with a 10% order pickup coupon *and* a 20% off coupon. The selection of stuff was much limited to what I know is in the store but I *did* get what I wanted/needed without the need to walk around with "mouth breathers" for a half-hour or more. |
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Picked up the following titles this morning with a 20% off coupon:
BD $3: Poker Night - freebie Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter $5: I Love Lucy: Ultimate Season 1 DVD $5: Mork & Mindy: Season 1 Mork & Mindy: Season 2 |
Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Has anyone seen CSI Miami seasons 7-10? There seem to be plenty of 1-3 and 4-6. On a recent shopping experience at BL I used a 20% off coupon, a 15% off Birthday coupon, $10 off $40 coupon and two $5 off $15 coupons for a total of ~$23 on $60 worth of stuff. I stock up on coffee and nuts at BL when I have coupons to use. Do note that discount coupons are always applied first. So if you are using a $10 off $40 coupon you must be at or above $40 after the discount coupons.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Nah, last i went to check for stuff black friday they still only had the first 2 cases of seasons for csi miami. they didnt even have rest of csi original series. cause got season 1 for 5 bucks then gave in and got the season 1 with other for like 10 i think. since blots is a closeout store like dt and 99 cent store, i wonder how they choose what to sell any or just get sent stuff and get rid of whatever they can anytime. not sure what they scan to order so i guess gotta wait and see and just snag the last seasons when u see them next trip any. i just happy i can score what i can and not gotta pay a fortune for seasons now days.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
I came across the Blu-ray of NCIS: Season 12 for $5. Six-disc set. The I Love Lucy set for the same price is a great deal for one of the great seasons in television history. There's no intention of ever finishing out the show on Blu-ray, but at that price it's worth owning an orphaned set.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays
Try think if it may have been a region restricted or not playable in player for any reason. but if plays and u can watch in ps4 then thats not bad atleast u can still watch them and not have to return for refund or exchange any.
