Re: BDs at Big Lots

A handful of BDs have been showing up at various Big Lots since at least the 4th quarter of 2012. At first they were showing up with cuts or scratches to the UPC code, though some of the more recent batches were not cut-outs.

There is a small bonus hiding inside these copies, a VUDU digital copy that still works in spite of the listed expiration date.

Re: BIG LOTS Blu-ray deals

I'm hoping if I wait a few months this same batch will be at Dollar Tree.

I do wonder if these titles will make it there. Dollar Tree did have DVDs of a couple of these titles (1408 and the Great Debaters), but that doesn't mean the blu-rays will also show up. Would be nice though.

Re: BIG LOTS Blu-ray deals

I checked this afternoon locally, and also found

Feast
Crossing Over
Killshot
The Tournament

I found that some of these were $4.00 last month at Fry's.

None at my local big lots. Just the same as before. Moonstruck, Out Of Africa, Hellboy 2.

Re: BIG LOTS Blu-ray deals

I've noticed that most locations will display their $6.88 Blu-rays in a different location from the normal waterfall DVD displays and racks. They are usually close to where the stores display their electronics or videogames.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

For those of you that picked up Ironclad the Vudu code in it should still work even though it says it expired 2 years ago. I picked up Ironclad and a Hellraiser movie a month or so ago and both came with codes, but only Ironclad would redeem.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Picked up the below 3 BD's for $3 each:

Children of The Corn Genesis: http://www.amazon.com/Children-Corn-...dp/B0054MYSPM/
Rest Stop - Dont Look Back: http://www.amazon.com/Rest-Stop-Dont...dp/B001BC31RK/
John Carpenter's The Ward: http://www.amazon.com/John-Carpenter...dp/B0052DP1TA/

Not great ratings for any of them but for $3 each, can be good fillers for Craigslist sales

For what it's worth, I completely enjoyed The Ward.

watching it as we speak :-)...the BD PQ and AQ are awesome....the movie itself ? bleh...JC peaked with 'The Thing' and of course 'Halloween'...'Christine' was not bad but I may be in the minority...movies are subjective as always

As a JC fan who loves The Thing and Escape from New York, The Ward was very mediocre in comparison. It had very little to make it feel like a JC film. Yet, I own it because I blind bought it used for $5. It feels more like it would be worth $3 which is BL's price.

Halloween was OK, as was Christine and Ghosts of Mars. In the Mouth of Madness and Escape from LA were tolerable (the first time I remember seeing Steve Buscemi). Sadly none of them measure up to The Thing and Escape from New York. Yet since I like JC's style, I can usually find enough to like in his movies that I'll pay a fiver for the BD.

I liked The Ward also, it's not his best film but it's good to see him back in the director's chair!

Picked up
Rest Stop 2 ($3)
Black Dahlia ($5)
Wanderlust ($5) 2 disc DVD/Blu/UV version.

Saw the Ward, Assault on Precinct 13 and a few others I can't remember. They actually had quite a few.
