I always would just buy these at BN, but owing to the fact I have credit at other retailers, I need to ask...does Amazon generally match during the sale?

Doesn't really matter anyhow. It's not like these pre-orders will go OOP by the next 50% off sale.
I grabbed Salo and Kiss me Deadly.

^^I remember during at least one previous sale that Amazon did preemptively match a handful of select titles to the 50% off prices, but you can't use any additional 20-30% off coupons on Amazon.

Thanks! As soon as I posted I realized it was easy to find. Here's the list of titles releasing after 11/21/11:
The Lady Vanishes
Branded to Kill
Tokyo Drifter
Rushmore
Traffic
12 Angry Men
Design For Living
Belle de Jour
Godzilla
The Moment of Truth
Also, no coupons working for pre-orders, right? So 50% off, free shipping, and the referral sites are the best route? Currently 8% at rebates minus the r.

As for me, I'm trying to stick to movies I don't already own on DVD. So I'll get Belle De Jour, 12 Angry Men, and Gojira.

Coupons weren't eligible anyway, so I was just going to wait for the B2G1 January sale for those. We might luck out and get 12 Angry Men during the few hours overlap on 11/22 though.

What's the best criterion sale and discount code/in-store coupon combo? In store, is it purchasing $50 of blus to get the $5 off? And online, is it using a 10% code? Do the online coupons work for this sale? Am I missing something? Thanks, and sorry up front if this is a stupid question.

Just tried in store and was able to use the 20% Amex coupon on a title. Will go back at lunchtime and try again.

Don't forget that The Killing includes Killer's Kiss as well. The latter isn't top-tier Kubrick, but it's an interesting work. There's also a great vintage interview with a curmudgeonly and candid Sterling Hayden.

Went ahead and ordered Dazed And Confused, 3 Women, and Island Of The Lost Souls, all on Blu-Ray, using the AAA 10% coupon code.
Since I can't use that code on pre-orders, I'll wait for the Three Colors Trilogy to be released before I order that one. I may order a couple more, but those 4 titles are the main ones I was after.

I was this close to ordering Kuroneko, but went with Cul-de-Sac instead. Maybe if I'm not alerted to any spectacular BF deals, I'll put one more order in before the sale is over.
Kind of hesitating on the Three Colors Trilogy. I certainly want to order it, but I know B&N had a pretty decent box set sale last December, which coincided with a Mastercard coupon for an additional 25% off. I was able to get the BBS Story for $49. Don't know what the chances are, but I'd love for a similar offer to come along this year.

To get the absolute best price, you must be a member so you get 10% off on in store transactions.
For $39.99 titles, you want to purchase them one at a time, in store for ~$14.50 each using a 20% off coupon each time. If you want to save some time and effort and your cashier will stack coupons, you can purchase 3 in one transaction and use a 20% off coupon and a $5 off $50 coupon to bring it to ~$16 per film.
For $49.99 titles, use a $8 off $40 (list price) coupon to get the title for $14.50.
You can also find some other combinations of $29.99, $39.99, and $49.99 titles to maximize the $5 off $50 coupon.
Box Sets, you're usually going to be best off using whatever the highest % off coupon is at the time.
Right now, in order to use the 20% off coupon, you must have an American Express card but I would feel that another coupon will make itself available at some point during the sale that will be at least 20% or better.
