yeah. I suppose there is a possibility of a BF sale. I remember the dvd box sets never really dropped in retail price. I thought that was always strange. I guess I'm just saying, I wouldn't count on a BF sale.. but i hope you can tell me, "I told you so"

Re: Target Media Prices (September 11 - 17, 2011)
I went to pick up Thor 3D this morning at Target and there was a freaking line wrapped around the block 2 times for some stupid clothing line (Missoni at Target) they were only letting people in 25 to 30 at a time.
Needless to say I left, i was going to be using a target guest services 10 off coupon that i had for it, and i had to get to work, so waiting wasnt an option, just hope they still have it in stock when i get off work.

That explains why it was so crowded at Target this morning...and why the cute blonde woman in front of me spent over $1,300 on clothes and handbags and such while insisting to the checkout girl that it wasn't "all" for her. Is this the kind of stuff people are going to try to flip on eBay the same day? I was trying to figure out if it was a holiday or a back-to-school special or something. There was no line around the block when I got there at 8:30 but I had to stand in line for a pretty long time which is unusual for this time of day. I wonder if the Star Wars Blu-Ray is going to create this much hype. There were plenty of all versions of Thor and they restocked with lots of the X-Men: First Class combo pack as well.

Anyone pick up The Big Bang Theory Season 4 Blu? Wondering if they had Blu-ray copies with the exclusive 30 minute cast Q&A?

Iam sure star wars wont be creating that kind of hype.

I have never heard of Missoni and had no idea this was going on at Target. The stuff you learn on DVDTalk!
This reminds me of a funny thing that happened to me years ago at a Venture store (like KMart and Target if you don't know what Venture was). They had the original Mortal Kombat ridiculously cheap one Sunday morning. I got up early and went to the closest Venture to my house. There were at least 200 people in line. I became very concerned I wouldn't get my game. When the doors opened I made a mad dash to the video game section. Everyone else ran in a different direction. I laughed and thought "what a bunch of idiots! They don't know where the video game section is!"
As I was paying at the electronics register, I realized that there wasn't anyone else buying the game. I was again surrpised since it had been a good five minutes since the store opened. On the way out I realized everyone in line had been there for Power Ranger toys. I visited the store later on in the week and they still had plenty of $10 copies of Mortal Kombat.

Yes, they had Big Bang S4, Glee S2 and Supernatural S6 blu rays versions with the Q&A Disc included. Supernatural is really hard to find (only 1 of 3 stores near me had one and only one on the shelf).

Hmm... I was under the impression that the Blu-rays for Big Bang and Glee didn't have the Q&A bonus disc, but I didn't look that closely. I just noticed that the sale tags for the DVDs stated there was a bonus disc, but the Blu-ray tags said nothing.
As for Missoni: I work at Target and just noticed all of the new Missoni junk yesterday. I think it looks stupid, but I guess a lot of that stuff is what is fashionable at the moment. I guess there's no accounting for taste.
Once again, regarding working at Target: I noticed today while putting some copies of Thor 3D into security cases that they finally did something smart and made the slipcovers slightly shorter than the Blu-ray case so they fit perfectly into the security case without any risk of damaging the slip. I don't know why this hasn't been done before, but it's ingenious! I still don't have any worthy solution for the damage caused by spiderwraps when a larger security case won't fit into the shelf location, I guess Target should just have special spots for the higher-priced/larger Blu-rays and BD sets.
Also interested to see what the Star Wars lithographs look like, but I've got the Gold Box discount on Amazon with release date delivery, so it's a no-go for me. I'm moving at the end of the month, so I don't need the extra clutter anyway. STAR WARS, NOTHING BUT STAR WAAAAARS, GIMME THOSE STAR WARS, DON'T LET THEM EEEEND!!!

Thanks for the reponse, Lance_G. I was able to get a copy of BBT Season 4 on Blu with the bonus disc. They had 5-6 six copies all spider-f**ked but the one I got was not too bad. I was in a hurry or I would have talked to a manager about how stupid it is to use those things and damage their inventory. Oh well.
I did see Glee Blu with bonus but no Supernatural (Target on Chase in Milwaukee).

is anyone gonna try price matching targets Star Wars set with BB? I'm not sure it would work because of the shirt that comes with the BB one.

Not sure about their in-store price, but BestBuy.com has it for $79.99 so all you have to do is have them match it to their own website.

The Miller Park/West Milwaukee Target is where I work and it's the same issue with every other store I've been to, and I've been to the Chase Target quite a few times so I know that they do the EXACT same thing.
As for talking to the manager (Team Lead in Target-jargon) I have a strong feeling that it wouldn't affect anything whatsoever, it's apparently Target "best practice" to use security (either cases or spiderwraps) on ALL Blu-rays and any DVD set over $40. If you DID want to take the time to speak to someone, though, I'd have to say the best person with which to speak would be the Assets Protection Team Lead as theft protection is their department. AFAIK they're usually there in the PM shifts (generally 4PM-close) if you really want to "hunt" them down.
Maybe if enough people complain Target will come up with another solution, but I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people who buy movies don't care whether or not their slipcovers or the outer packaging of TV seasons are in pristine condition. But, believe me, it pains me to put a spiderwrap over packaging that won't be thrown out (i.e. Blu-ray players, stereos and TVs) and I would like an alternative as well.

Re: Target Media Prices (September 11 - 17, 2011)
As I said in my previous post, I think it would be a much better idea for Target to use the larger DVD set security cases for items that don't fit into the smaller ones, but the issue is with the front endcap displays for Blu-rays and DVDs not being large enough to support said cases.

Thanks for the feedbck, I will keep that in mind for next time. I've complained many times over the years, to no avail obviously!

Out of 6 stores in my area, only one of them ever puts Blu Rays in security cases.

Re: Target Media Prices (September 11 - 17, 2011)
Well... as for the best practice thing, I believe the need to put everything in security cases changes from store to store. I'm pretty sure I've been to a store just outside of Milwaukee where barely any of the Blu-rays were in security cases, probably due to a very low loss rate. In any area where the store is considered "high risk" though, EVERYTHING goes into a case or a wrap.
I just noticed after working overnight last night that our store has smart enough Electronics employees who realized that a lot of Star Wars fans wouldn't be happy with a dented saga set, so they were all in the larger plastic cases and merely put into the front endcap (the ones with the spring-loaded pusher thingies) sideways. It wasn't an issue with the special endcap for the checklanes, as the carboard shelves on that were tall/wide enough to accomodate a large security case. I also noticed that there were only a handful of copies left, so I'm guessing that Uncle George will have no problems making at least a little more money from The Phantom Menace in all three of the glorious Ds.
