Re: Beauty and the Beast 3D and The Lion King 3D $8.00 coupons via Amazon.com

OH one final thing for those hopeing for a better price on B&B 3D. you might not want to hesitate. Dont automaticly assume that B&B will have a 8 dollar manufactures coupon. earlier this year Alice 3D didnt get a manufactures coupon rather inside the pack there was a 10 mail in rebate and amazon though did offer a 10 dollar pre order coupon to select members as well so in essence it worked out to being 20.00 off once your rebate check was sent.

that might be the case here with B&B 3D.

I'm definitely signed in. Not sure why I wouldn't qualify. I buy a ton of stuff from Amazon as well.

Have you bought a TON of DISNEY movies on AMAZON though?
thats the thing quite a few people on here even when they first started offering these online amazon coupons still opted to wait for the printable coupons and bought them instore instead of at amazon.
the first couple amazon offered they were available to all members in recent months is when they started being selective about issueing them

as for B&B why would they push for the 2D combo to have 8.00 off when the 2D combo released last year allready came with a coupon promo
Here is the image of the email this morning and it does not specify the 3D version in the text. I wrote them inquiring about getting the coupon on the 2D and they gave it to me. I never demanded anything and they could have said no, which they didn't.

Read the text, it says "the Lion King," "the Lion King trilogy," and "Beauty and the Beast (3D Blu-ray combo)" 3D combo is not plural and sits within the title quotations. "the Lion King" does not specify 2D or 3D. You could say that B&B is listed as 3D to not confuse anyone with the already released 2D, so they are making the specification on that specific title, but they do not do it with the Lion King titles.

Its pretty clear to me that it meant only for the 3D bluray combos. all three of those listed before the parenthisis are bluray 3D combo packs (so it would be overly redundent to list it after each one.) the regular 2D version is listed and shown under see more Lion king banner which is entirely seperate section.

and i never said you demanded anything, just stated i dont see how anyone could misread that email to believe that the 2D set should have also had a coupon.

I've ordered a few but I do buy a lot in stores with the MyDisneyRewards printable coupons since those turn out to be better deals. Last one I ordered was Bambi on release date, although I did order Tangled 3D, Alice in Wonderland 3d and Snow White last week from them with the $20 off discount as well as Bambi, Snow White & Beauty and the Beast with the $20 off discount.

lately amazon has been just as cheap if not cheaper on movies from disney on release date thanks to offering online coupons like these ones.

I have acquired the majority of my Disney BDs from amazon, and I do not have access to the coupons.

EDIT: ...and amazingly, just checked my e-mail again, and there it is. Does amazon read these boards and know who I am lol?

Examples Amity, you like to throw out this blanket statement everytime but do not like to back it up. Other than I think Bambi perhaps, most of the time release day the B&M stores have been beating Amazon.

I think Bambi it was the same price and thus due to no tax Amazon was cheaper. HOWEVER, one could argue if just purchased on it's own you are taking into account the fact that you are a Amazon prime member and that should factor into the cost. And for many that is too much to spend as I know personally I only make MAYBE 2 purchases a month not counting Black Friday week. I know I have seen your argument before on this that you Purchase ALOT from them so fine but not everyone purchases that much from them. Me, I'll just wait on this as Lion King is going to be a HUGE deal on release day so there is bound to be plenty of promotions that will certainly guarantee that I can beat Amazon's price llike I have on all the Disney blu's that I have been interested in.

Redundant, maybe. However they would need to list it. Because I know I have seen you argue over the coupons that Disney sends out that state how poeple are only supposed to be able to use it on the 3D version and you get all "soapbox" that someone is commiting coupon fraud when trying to use it on the 2D only version since it does not show the 2D version. In this case I would agree you are right.

Quid Squid is 100% right, if only for the 3D it would need to say so since their is 2 versions for The Lion King. They would need to list like this:

"the Lion King(3D Blu-ray combo)", "the Lion King trilogy," and "Beauty and the Beast (3D Blu-ray combo)"

We all do... According to Amazon's profile of you, you live in Long Island, NY and have children... I won't list the other details of your otherwise secret identity...

Amazon hasn't really been that competitive with Disney titles on release date, but there was that deal a few days ago for Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Bambi for $28.97 which was pretty good. The Disney B&M coupons usually beat out Amazon's combination deals on new releases, from what I've seen.

I'd be surprised if there isn't a coupon for B&M stores that works on the regular 2 Disc Lion King in October. We shall see.

I got an email with a code in it to apply the discount. Can it only be used on one order? I am thinking of ordering both Lion King and Beast but on seperate orders

It's pretty clear that the intention for the coupons is for the 3D versions only. On the qualifying pages for each product there is a coupon button to clip each coupon which will be applied after you add it and go to checkout. Next to those buttons is a link to your Amazon Coupon page where you'll find all 3 of the $8.00 coupons to click on. They've flipped the 8 and 4-disc sets as far as links but you'll see there is no 2D link to click there.

Definitely not. Using DMR coupons at Target/Best Buy has been much cheaper than Amazon.

Not always. Don't forget, the Bunny Money is now dead. Without that, Amazon would have been cheaper on Tangled since their coupon was $8 and Disney only put out $5 coupons... We can no longer assume $8 or $10 coupons from Disney. If all we get is $5 for Lion King and BATB, Amazon will likely win...

Well the code I received could only be used once, and on the total of the purchase.

Only ordered Lion King for the moment, if a better deal comes along at a B&M for the both of them this order will be canceled.

While it might be clear to you, your explanation isn't. You say it's obvious because the 2D version is shown under the "See more Lion King" banner and it's entirely separate....but so is the Lion King Trilogy and we know that is included. Not only that, but I think the reason that they specified BatB as 3D is because a 2D version is already on the market and not included, The Lion King is yet to be released. I would go so far as to say that it's reasonable to assume that ALL the products in the box below would be included in that sale. Just because you clicked through and found out they weren't doesn't mean that the wording of the e-mail isn't unclear.

Not necessarily, the coupon for The Incredibles was $10 a few days ago. And, thus far, Amazon doesn't have a coupon for the regular Lion King BD/DVD set, just the very pricey 3D and three movie sets (that are of zero interest to me, at least).

Even a $5 coupon at Target or BB might beat the Amazon pre-order price, not that I'd buy it at such a meager discount.
