So they used a $5 of $24.99 on a $19.99 title? I didn't even think to attempt that.

The price for both (including additional $8 discount) was $31.98. Then deduct the $5 bunny coupon and the $5 coupon from disney movie rewards.

The DMR says $5 off $24.99 and above titles on it.

I don't know if it's a So Cal or Orange County thing, but I just went to 5 different Targets, and not one had the Original Tron in stock. Plenty of copies of Legacy in all formats, but not one freaking copy of the original to be found.

So safe to say I have no idea how the coupons would have worked for me.

I had to miss something. I think the bunny coupon if from the Target ads. But where is the Disney movie rewards one to be found?

FYI in Calif (Apple Valley), only 3 copies where at both targets. 2 old and 1 new only.

Re: Target Ad 4/3-4/9

I went to several Targets and all they had left was the one-disc Tron: Legacy. May just end up buying the blu-ray Tron Legacy and Original Tron 2-disc sets at Amazon, since they're matching the Target prices, including the $8 off deal. Does anyone know if Amazon accepts coupons?

No original BD's in stock at either of the two I went to today either. And their lame online system won't let one check local inventory because, according to it, the title has not yet been released.

...but you can ask the cashiers to run a check for inventory for nearby stores, just give them the zipcode area you would like them to search, and a few seconds later you'll have a printout of stores with stock available, and if they are available, call the store ahead to put one aside for you. Just a suggestion that has worked for me a few times.

Re: Target Ad 4/3-4/9

Wow, Sotra. Congratulations on pulling off the original Tron BD with the Tron Legacy DMR coupon. I had a sneaking suspicion that this would work since Target's coupons seem to be very general. I even tried it but was shot down. I gave the $5 Target Disney coupon (which I finally saw said Bunny Money at the top) and then handed the 2 $5 DMR coupons. The cashier put the first 2 through no problem but when she saw an identical looking DMR coupon she looked at it and said I only have 1 Tron Legacy so it doesn't apply. I said "well maybe it'll work anyway if you scan it", but she said she couldn't. At least I got the other 2 $5 coupons no problem, so I got the same deal most people did with Sotra getting the best deal. One has to wonder why Target bothered to put that $8 discount not valid with any coupons wording in their ad when their computer system didn't care.

And my Target was down to only 2 copies of the original Tron and 4 of the Legacy 3D by 10 AM. I *HATE* that Target gets so few in stock as it forces me to plan my day around getting to Target by 9 AM Tuesday morning when it would be far easier and more convenient for me to stop by at night after work, but I know going at night would mean walking out empty handed.

Re: Target Ad 4/3-4/9

My wife was able to do the same thing. She bought both Legacy and Original two disc versions, handed the girl two of the coupons and we were good to go. 24.11 with tax for both!

I, on the other hand, went in first thing yesterday morning and just got the $8.00 discount Target was offering because I didn't think the coupons would work.. Plus the only cashier working at the time was the guy who always plays by the rules... lol

So I will be running back to Target today to return the movies I bought..

Yeah, I can't go to Target before work, since I live in NYC and the closest Targets are in a) The Bronx and b) east Harlem, respectively. And it never fails that the 4-disc 3D combo packs are entirely gone by the time I get out of work. (Although they had plenty of the original left.) When this happened to me with Tangled, I just waited a few days, but I wanted to watch T:L immediately (it was a blind buy) so I sucked it up and bought the 2-disc combo. I just hate the fact that the 4-disc and 2-disc would've been the same price, and eventually I'll probably own a 3D TV, but honestly, that day won't happen for years and years.

What I want to know is, how do so many people in the Bronx have 3D TVs??

PS. I really liked the film. It wasn't perfect, but I thought it was really interesting and for the most part, quite well-written and well-acted. I'm surprised so many critics didn't like Garrett Hedlund - he's way more charismatic than somebody like Sam Worthington, IMO.

My breakdown was:

Tron Legacy 4-disc - $24.99
Tron 2 disc - $19.99
Mfr coupons - -$10 (took both surprisingly)
Target coupon - -$5
Tron promo - -$8

After taxes it came out to $22.19!
Same deal as sotra. No $5 gift card.

Re: Target Ad 4/3-4/9

3 more Targets today, and 3 more shutouts.

I've come to realize that Target's online inventory system is useless, as 2 of the 3 stores I checked today said they had Tron available, only to have nothing when I got there. At one of the stores it was clear they had nothing for quite some time as they had moved at the DVD versions of Legacy into the areas for the Blus. (They had one 2 disc Legacy and 1 5 disc set, that's it).

I'm about to just give up and order from Amazon, this is ridiculous. 8 stores and not 1 copy of Tron in any of them? Really?

I'm not sure why you didn't just call the store and ask for them to hold it for you. Much smarter than driving there and waisting gas.

I stopped by two Targets and both were sold out of the original Tron. So I just picked up Tron Legacy 2 disc version using both coupons for $9.99 plus tax.

Re: Target Ad 4/3-4/9

I went yesterday around 1:00 p.m. and got the very last copy of the original Tron. They only had 4 copies of the 4-disc Legacy left but they had taken the slip covers off to fit them in the security cases. I was going to just get the 2-disc because of that, but then noticed the slip covers sitting behind the counter at the electronics register so I asked the guy there if I could have one of them since I wanted to get the 4-disc but not without the slip cover, so he gave it to me. Was able to use the $5 DMR coupon in addition to the $8 for buying both and got out the door for about $33 after tax.

Re: Target Ad 4/3-4/9

EDIT:

Day Three: SUCCESS!

I just got back from my 9th Target trip in 3 days, back to the original one closest to my house. I checked the inventory online and several stores in the area were now showing Tron Classic back in stock, including the local store. So I headed down there soon after opening and I finally found...two copies.

I grabbed one, grabbed a 3D 4-disc set of Legacy, used the Bunny Munny and DMR coupons, and everything worked as it should have. $27 plus tax.

So if you're still looking, I'd get down there quick. They may have restocked, but they may not have many.

Wasn't able to find the 4-disc Legacy or the original Tron at ANY Target in my area yesterday. Apparently they all got less than 5 copies of each. Ugh. Hoping they get more stock before the week is up.

If it was that easy I would have found it a very long time ago. What is pissing me off the most is I have a 3D setup and really want this movie NONE of the Targets have it.
