I didn't see this posted over here yet, but have seen it elsewhere...

Long story short, Best Buy is giving out $10 and $20 Reward Zone certificates as 'Christmas gifts' to their members. The amount you get is based on your purchase history with them. Many of you probably have them sitting in your account already, I, myself did not.

After a short call to 1800-Best-Buy last night, the rep informed me that a lot of people did not get them, and they had received calls about them. She looked up my account, apologized, and added the certificates to my account. Woke up this morning, and the certificates are there. Apparently there was no rhyme or reason to whom did/did not get them, but Best Buy seems to be pretty understanding with this (from what I hear from others as well).

I posted this so that loyal shoppers can give this a shot. If you hate the place and never shop, there isn't much reason to check it out. I haven't spent a lot there this year at all, but I suppose they are giving away $10 minimum for people who ever spend money there.

Check your account, and if need be, give them a call. Hope everyone gets something, and Merry Christmas!

Apparently if you spent money at Best Buy in November, you don't get one. They are rewarding people who don't shop there but have RZ cards.

I understand why they're doing this, I suppose, but I want some free shit!

I had bought once in November and so I called and she said I qualified so she was adding the $10 but it would have 90 days to expire since she had to do it manually. Apparently, the ones through the email expire the end of the month . We also found some uncredited RZ purchases which were added to my account as well. Good customer service, but a long wait on hold, but I just put these hold calls on speaker phone and do my computer stuff while I wait.

I used it to get a gift for my sister this Christmas.

I have 0 purchases in the last 90 days and didn't get it, so it's not just November. I have a feeling my account is flagged as a "devil customer" though. :P

Not true at all. I bought no less than 8 blu's in the last month and I got 10 automatically. That's a rumor started by people who didn't get them

I just called and the very nice lady on the phone told me they are for people who do not shop there often in order to get them to return and make a purchase. But, the lady was nice enough to credit my Reward Zone account with 500 points for calling and inquiring about it.

I spent 4k and got no code.

Well, I didn't get it so I called and will get 750 points or 15 dollars in certificates.

Guy on the phone said it went to people who purchased something in May. This makes at least some of the reps liars.

I just got off the phone with them. First he tried saying it is only for Premier members. Once I told him I am Premier, then he said all of the emails haven't been sent out yet--supposedly more are going out tonight. He did say a purchase must have been made during a certain promotional period (he didn't say when, but he DID say that I qualified). He said his system showed that I was sent the email, and was qualified for $20. So he added 1000 points to my account! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!! I rarely call about anything, cuz I am pretty lazy. But this was worth calling about. So huge thanks to the OP!!!

I got an email Friday saying I had a $20 gift. It still hasn't shown up in my account. I guess I'll call.

So I called and the agent apologized. He said he sees I was sent the email and I didn't get the bonus. He's adding 1000 points to my account but it'll take about two days for it to show up. But it will not have the Dec 25 deadline. It'll be just like any regular points I can use whenever I want.

I was surprised to find the $20 gift certificate in my E-mail a few days ago. I haven't purchased anything from Best Buy in months - definitely buying something from them now.

Thanks a lot OP! I haven't bought anything from Best Buy in at least six months or more. I haven't checked my reward zone membership account since earlier this year. However, after reading this thread I decided to check it out and lo and behold there was a $10 gift certificate for me which expires Christmas day. I will be using this during the HBO sale and purchase Curb Your Enthusiasm S.7 for $6.49 + tax!

The girl had no clue about the email so she did a search on their help database and read the whole thing under her breath while I was on the phone. It sounded like for anyone whose last purchase was between November 2009 and May 2010, they received $20. For those whose last purchase was between May 2010 and Nov 7, 2010 received $10. They are giving $10 to anyone who calls in who had made a purchase between Nov 7 and now.
