Barely worth mentioning: one or two of the Amazon Marketplace sellers have Hard Rain for a few pennies less than the Amazon $5.99 price.

Not a deal, but has anyone else been having problems with items in their cart not showing the NEW AND USED prices from the Marketplace underneath the title? For the past few weeks it's been there one day and off the next, but now it's going on 10 consecutive days without appearing. Along the same lines, occasionally I will see pictures of the items in my cart, but most days I don't. ???

I wrote Amazon about all this and they responded that everything was showing up on their end, including the pictures, but that they would escalate the issue to another tier of tech support. The Marketplace prices came back for about a week, but then disappeared again and the pictures have not shown up at all.

I remember when the previous Goonies BD release was $6 for a brief time 1 day last December at Amazon, but I missed it. My understanding is that this 25th Anniversary set has the same contents as the original release disc, but it's almost 3x as much as that previous deal. So, I think I'm going to wait until it's under $10.

Yeah, for once I feel the same way. I've seen Goonies about twenty times, oddly, never on dvd or blu-ray though...mostly on TV broadcast. I just saw it about a month ago on Encore or Starz HD. But despite seeing that boxset a million times (and even owning a couple of Goonies shirts), I have no passion to own that.

Anyhow, I've pre-ordered the single disc through DVD Empire (because I like to give them business once in a while) along with Scary Movie 2 and 3 and used their 15% coupon which in effect gave me each of them for about $10 a piece.

However, if you go to Amazon right now (only popped up last night or this morning i believe), the single disc is $10.

Does the original release come in a standard Blu-ray keepcase? I got the collector's edition for $6 at Amazon a while back, but have never opened it.

The one in the gift set has a standard bluray case from what I can tell. I bought the DVD version of the set and it came in a regular case. I missed out on the bluray set. :sad:

Posting this being that lizard is really good at finding all of these. I collect the big box sets of the older movies. Does anyone (ok lizard?) have a list of the ones coming out. I know C.Kane is do out very soon, other then that I am not sure.

I agree with both brianluvdvd and NoirFan. <b>Cujo</b> and <b>Near Dark</b> are well worth $5.99 each for the blu-rays. Each disc also has a commentary and other extras. Good stuff for the October horror movie challenge.
