Seven digibook was $18.99 in April. That's as low as it's been on amazon. Digibooks under $15 are pretty uncommon. If one is not into the books, the current price is not bad at all.

'Jackie Brown', 'Pulp Fiction' & 'The Crow' are now listed with pre-order prices of $13.99.
At the moment. both 'Jackie Brown' and 'The Crow' are $10 as pre-orders at WalMart.com and 'Pulp Fiction' is $15.86 |

A couple of recent changes:
21 (Kevin Spacey et al.) $6.49 Sands of the Kalahari $19.49 |
Re: Amazon Discounts and Deals Thread #7 (is it #7? I'll pretend it is)
I'm liking that pre-order price for Dead Alive! It's coming out just in time for the October Horror Movie Challenge, too.

Might have to pick up that Step Brothers for 6.49. I saw it earlier this week at Target for 9,99 but I didn't. Now I'm kinda glad that I didn't.
Walmart has Dead Alive for 10 dollars over at Walmart.com for their preorders. |

Still thinking about Kwai but I'll probably end up passing. If it were Lawrence, it'd probably have been a Day 1 buy, but Kwai is not really one that I tend to revisit.

That movie has too many one-liners and catch phrases to not be a comedy classic. For example: "Why are you sweating?" "I was watching Cops" |

BBC High Definition Natural History Collection: Planet Earth / Galápagos / Ganges / Wild China $49.49
BBC High Definition Natural History Collection Volume 2: Life / Nature's Most Amazing Events / South Pacific / Yellowstone $53.99 Kind of makes me regret buying a couple of these separately. At these prices, you can get both box sets for a price comparable to just one of them when not on sale. |

I already own Planet Earth and Life, but thankfully haven't opened them yet. Will buy the two collections today and sell my copies. Just wish they hadn't removed the little making-of documentaries (found only on the SD release) from Planet Earth. What were they thinking when they did that...? |

You are right that this is a seriously good deal. I am tempted to go the route you suggested. I have three of these titles on BD and the rest are DVD. I'm contemplating upgrading everything at one fell swoop and selling off what I have. You don't often see BBC titles at a per-disc rate this low. |

There is an upcoming October double-dip on Planet Earth. I don't think the missing documentaries from the SD edition have been restored, but I'm not sure. Rather than buy a pack with the old Planet Earth I'd rather wait for a deal on this new one: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Pla...-Edition/15629 EDIT: Superdaddy beat me by a few minutes (his post wasn't there when I started to reply). On a different subject, could someone tell me how this Married with Children Complete Series set (release date 9/27/11) for $46.99 compares to the existing one for $75.99? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005CGI4EG/ vs. http://www.amazon.com/Married-with-C...dp/B00432QAKK/ I've never seen more than a few episodes, but if the price is right it's a series I might be interested in watching. However I read that the previous release (bottom link) has some changed music and edited episodes. Does anyone know if this 9/27/11 release corrects those problems or is just the same thing in a different package? |

I'd say the new package is the spindle type packaging. They are not going to go through the trouble redoing the discs and correcting the problems and then selling the sets for under $50. ;)

Thanks. I haven't seen any spindle type packaging, but I'm assuming you literally mean all 32 DVDs come on a single spindle inside of a box instead of in sleeves, cardboard fold-outs, and such. Pretty much like a 50-pack spindle of DVD media.

Re: Amazon Discounts and Deals Thread #7 (is it #7? I'll pretend it is)
As a follow-up to the BBC high-def deal, following is the link to a thread I started a while back on the Planet Earth reissue.
The "Production Diaries" and "Planet Earth: The Future" are the DVD special features, and as the press release indicates, will be included on the re-release. The other listed special features are new to the reissue. Major turn-off for me personally is that it comes in either space-killing "globe" packaging or book-style packaging with the discs inserted into slots in the pages, neither of which I'm a fan of. Might want to continue discussion, if anyone desires, in the old thread: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/hd-talk/592...-date-tba.html |
