their return shipment is thru USPS Media Mail which is like a horse drawn carriage service, with no tracking. While that's a risk, its a risk Hastings bring on upon themselves. However, I have had no issues so far with any returns - its slow but they do their part in promptly refunding upon receipt of the item. sometimes, you don't receive an email of confirmation but a quick call will confirm

Only ever got 2 used dvds (about $1 each) from them and both times the cases were pretty worn. The discs were probably resurfaced (not a scratch or mark) and the art was fine for one but the other had some kinda stain you could see on the inner white part as if something leaked through the case. Looked like they were owned by the sloppiest of people. I am really nitpickity about this though. I replaced the cases but any used dvd I think of as contaminated.

I think the new stuff was shipped fine in bubble mailers and completely undamaged. Those were single size cases even though one had 2 discs.

and the fuckups continue, in true Hastings style. For the 4th time (yeah 4th time), the oafs sent me:

1. the 2014 Warner Godzilla instead of the Criterion one
2. Single disc edition of 'No Country For Old Men' instead of the 2 disc deluxe edition of NCFOM.
3. the Robert Downey Jr version instead of the 1922 John Barrymore Sherlock Holmes

They seem to love processing returns for me on these titles. I have a good idea now of how they store inventory and an even better idea of the people they employ to pick stock. Am giving up on getting these...finally !! anyone else that gets the correct item, Congratulations - you have broken through...

I tend to avoid the Buy X Get 1 free sales at GoHastings. They don't have much control over their inventory and often over-sell items, meaning the free item may get cancelled.

I'll say something positive about GoHastings of late. I've been getting Blu-rays from them in much better condition. I tend to avoid the cheaper stuff that may be ex-rentals, but the more pricey items tend to be in good shape.

It's only on DVD but they are currently selling new copies of Reign: Season One at $7.99. A great show to check out if you are into historical period romance.

Sale started at 7pm HST. Code would not work for over a hour after sale started. When it did start working I could only get 30% off of 2 items in my cart. Adding a 3rd or 4th one would not work.

I ordered Mad Max Anthology (new version with latest movie) for $35 & a previously viewed BD for $3.49.

agree. many of my wish list items came back in stock everyday as I checked them. and prices kept fluctuating. so did the coupon usage (on day 2, you could add just 1 item and still get the coupon discount) by the 3rd day of the sale, coupon did require 2 items at a minimum but prices hit their lowest and since then some select items have gone back up steeply. however, overall, its been a good sale. and I scored a few titles that seem to be OOP in Region A
