• The Wizard of Oz [Blu-ray]
• The Hangover [Blu-ray]
• Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief [Blu-ray]
• Watchmen [Blu-ray]
...• Terminator Salvation [Blu-ray]
• The Departed [Blu-ray]
• Fight Club [Blu-ray]
• V for Vendetta [Blu-ray]
• Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel [Blu-ray]
• I Am Legend [Blu-ray]
• The Boondock Saints [Blu-ray]
• Hot Tub Time Machine [Blu-ray][/B]
Yes, this is looking more promising than the lightning deals. The best thing about last year's BF week at amazon was just trolling through the various genre lists of DVDs or BDs and finding all sorts of cheap prices that weren't included in the lightning deals, and you might not know about unless you browsed around. I certainly don't need more BDs right now, but this could turn out to be fun.

Heat is pretty tempting for $10.99. I think I'm going to wait to see what deals they have running this week for Black Friday week though before ordering anything.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

Last I looked, Amazon's Black Friday page thing on Facebook had less than 10,000 fans. I wonder if they can't get the 50,000 fans, if they will have other deals in that slot that they are reserving for Mad Men (since I already own these, I'm hoping so, especially since the 50,000 fan mark isn't looking likely).

Re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray Part II

Holy eff they just dropped a bunch of prices. Mona Lisa, Time Bandits, The Long Good Friday, and Withnail and I are all down to $5.99, Showgirls is $7.99, the three Lord of the Rings individual releases are $7.99 each, and they've dropped a ton of other things. Looks like they've already matched She's Out of My League @ $10.00 from other Black Friday sales.

Re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray Part II

Couldn't resist the LOTR movies at $8/movie. Picked up a few more movies as well. Amazon has trumped a lot of the prices B&N had earlier today - not the insane boxed set prices, but some of the other things mentioned in that thread (Showgirls, Lie to Me Season 1, etc)

Great prices, but these sales me make me realize my wants don't really align with what is offered. There are some great movies there, but nothing I really want to own ("Time Bandits" would have been a pickup if not for the lackluster transfer reviews).

So is $69.99 the cheapest the Alien set is going to get? I'd hate to order it now and see it drop by $10+ later in the week.

Re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray Part II

looks like this might be a taste of what to expect. So far I've held off on picking anything up. However, I know it won't be long before I cave and get a couple of things.

Not a fan of the way Amazon list their prices though. Does anyone else have the same problem that when you try to list the prices from 'low to high' it doesn't matter because they are all mixed together?

Really hope they match some of B&N's box set prices from yesterday since I missed out on 'Life'

Re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray Part II

No time for links, just a few items that are on my personal wishlist that went down this morning or very recently:

The Princess Bride (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo in Blu-ray) [Blu-Ray] - $8.99
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince [Blu-ray] - $10.00
Wanted [Blu-ray] - $7.99
Public Enemies (Special Edition) [Blu-ray] - $9.99
Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder [Blu-ray] - $7.99
The Wrestler [Blu-ray] - $7.99
Futurama: Bender's Game [Blu-ray] - $8.49
Lonesome Dove (2-Disc Collector's Edition) [Blu-ray] - $7.49

I can't believe the two Futurama titles are finally a reasonable price! I've had them on my wishlist for years!

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

It says Dollhouse: Season One on Blu-ray will be on sale Monday, November 29th, but right now since it's $13.99 I'm wondering how much lower it can get? Whatever, I'll risk a few bucks and order it now.
