One good reason is to get single sided discs instead of double sided, $8 a season is well worth the price.

I just checked, and you do not have to add both titles at once from the deal page. So, as long as the deal stays active, adding the lightning Back To The Future to your cart along with any of the other titles should activate it automatically.
It looks like the "save $8" deal is over. The link is still valid, but when I add BTTF and Psycho in my cart and get to the final checkout page, it doesn't show a -$8 promotion discount.

I enjoyed Tin Man and wanted to catch Alice because it looked like it was done in a similar fashion. I'll pick it up because it sounds like it is similar. Thanks to the two of you for your comments.

That stinks. They also removed Apollo 13 from the list, which is the one I was going to try to combine with BTTF. But it looks like the promo isn't working anyways. However, if the page is still active tomorrow you could try to place the order and then contact Amazon to see if they'll apply the discount after the fact.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

Thanks for all the updates.
Due to my work schedule this year I actually didn't have time to try and get in on any of the lightening deals. I have the next 2 days off though and will try for Hannibal, Home Alone, BTTF and possibly Alice as a blind buy.
Just wanted to make sure that I get there at the right time though. I'm right in assuming that 4:40am PST is 7:40am EST for us here on the East coast?

It's all good, I think a lot of people get confused about them.

Oh my effing gee!!! WTF is this x:40 crap?!? It was x:30, now they've slipped it 10 minutes. What's the problem? I start work at 8 am and have about a half-hour commute. I was going to log on to Amazon, buy Dollhouse and hit the road to work. Now I'm going to be 10-15 minutes late, no thanks to this change. Lovely. Grrrr. Otherwise, it's take the $4 hit for buying last week. Jerks.

There was a lightning deal scheduled on Saturday at 9pm for something I wanted (non-DVD). They changed it to 1am for whatever reason, so I missed it. They are making last minute changes this year, and I don't like it either... Once you schedule something, stick to it! Don't change it once times have already been posted...

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

Can anyone comment on whether or not the Home Alone Collection contains the extra-features on the Home Alone 1 release? The collection has both movies on 1 disk so were extra features cut? Someone mentions something like that in the Amazon review.

It's nothing but the 2 single releases housed inside of a cardboard slipcover

Amazon reviews suck, because they typically don't match the correct product. You could see a review on a blu-ray pre-order that was actually posted 10 years ago commenting on a DVD release.

It gets easier once you are comfortable with addition and subtraction.
