Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

This evening was the first time I had trouble with the checkout on the lightning dead - seemed like the page was stuck 'checking on the deal'. I actually opened up a new tab and went to Amazon - and found both blu's I was trying to get sitting in my basket ready for checkout. A few seconds later and $10 poorer I left a happy camper.

So that might be the solution to try in the future - if your browser seems hung up, just open a new tab and see if that does the trick.

Can anyone attest to the quality of the Karate Kid (2010)? Not sure if it's worth a blind buy or not.

I do believe it's better than the initial release.

It is the newer "good" BD release of the movie.

I want Caddyshack, but I have a feeling they will be dropping it to $7.99 within a day or two. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that they like to price things $.50 higher for a day or two than the price with which they are competing and then drop it to the competitor's price?

not sure but with only 15 mins remaining you might want to pause your game if you are really really wanting to pick up the movie.

Is it worth $10? That's really hard to say. Do you really think you will watch this more than once? I personally enjoyed it and tried not to make comparisons to the original, although it's tough. I think they took the original premise and re-worked it enough to make it a little different. Jackie Chan was good and I didn't think Jaden Smith was that annoying, which I thought he would be. The highlight IMO was the cinematography of China.

Its better than it has any right to be lol.
I went into this totally wanting to hate this when we hosted the premiere durring the summer. but was pleasantly surprised its a pretty decent movie.
Aside from the horrible justin Beiber song playing over the end credits.

for 10 bucks i would say go for it.

I figure I could rewatch it a few times. Just wanted to make sure it was enjoyable and not some utter pile of crap.

$10 for The Karate Kid is great. I was surprised by how good it was. Saw it twice in theatres.

Iam going to get Legion and superbad for 5 bucks then run out the door hopefully intime to catch the last bus of the night that goes up to frys, so that I can try to get the spiderman trilogy(and some other things as well but before i heard about the low price when i woke up this morning I was just planning on wandering over there at some point latter in the day) Ive owned it before but sold it off a while back, if amazon would have atleast been about 10 to 15 dollars cheaper i would just order it from them.

Re: Amazon Black Friday Sales Start Monday, November 22nd

Just a idea, but a poster just listed some of the wal mart 5 dollar titles in the walmart thread.
If enough people click on the "notify us of a lower price" link on the individual item pages for some of those titles on amazon. They might start to match some of them as well. I just did it myself.
It doesnt hurt to let amazon
know.

Watchable but way too long. Little Smith is definitely his fathers son as far as charisma goes but the movie does not nearly have the magic of the original. The fight scenes alone (esp. in the final tournament) are way too choreographed and some obvious computer stuff was done. (Plus he's like 75 pounds and I just didn't buy that no matter how it looked on screen, at any point the bully character could have just put his hand on his forehead and Jaden's arms would be flailing!) I can still watch the 1984 and the hairs on my neck still stand up just like when I saw it in theaters. It was not a coincidence that they got John G. Avildsen (director of ROCKY) for the original. This version is just "EH" in my book but I get why kids and teens liked it...
