What sort of envelope did you guys put the discs into when mailing them out? Should I go buy a padded bubble deal or just pop them into whatever fits?

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
I just used a smaller manilla envelope and sealed it pretty well with tape, but as I said I haven't got anything yet. I did this DVD2Blu before doing the same thing with no prob. Last time I seem to remember getting the confirmation email though.

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
I know you can only use one title per trade-in (ie., if I had twenty copies of 300 on DVD, I could only send one), but what do you guys think about TV shows on DVD? I own S1, S1.5, and S2 of Battlestar Galactica that I want to get rid of since I got the blu-rays - can I only send one DVD from each of those season packs?
Follow up question - I placed two orders, can I use one S1 disc in one, and one S1 disc in another? Thank you!

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
Apparently today, 11/11 is the LAST DAY to place an order using any dvd to trade in. Front page says Limited Time, but an email I just got says it ends today.
Ordered a few for X-mas!

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
I asked earlier but unfortunately nobody answered whether it ends at midnight PST or EST. So I have to assume PST which gives me 55 minutes to research all the titles and place the order. Pretty unlikely! All thanks go to my hell job.

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
I just placed a very rushed order too at 8:57 PM PST because nobody could tell me if the deadline was midnight PST or EST, so I had to assume PST. Had someone answered that it was EST, then I would have had time to read reviews on TV series such as Chuck and Supernatural to see if they were worth getting instead of just upgrading DVDs to BDs. However, knowing absolute 0 about both series (I don't watch TV nor do I see commercials) I'm not willing to risk $15-$20 on a blind buy. It took me at least an hour of research for TSCC and PD (including watching some YouTube clips) to determine they were worth $15 blind buys. Research takes time which is what I don't have.
So, I just got enough upgrades to make the $35 free shipping, but I'm not particularly thrilled by any of the selections. Unfortunately the majority of these BDs have basically the same extras as the DVD with slightly better picture and sound. Very few have reviews saying the picture and sound blow the DVD away (Speed Racer is an exception but it has a pitiful DD5.1 soundtrack) and very few have new extras. Several reviews say ones like Christmas Story are barely a step above the DVD, so why pay $6.95 to upgrade that? And as much as I'd like to get rid of my HD-DVDs, I can't justify $4.95 each to do it when the PQ and AQ and extras are identical to the BD according to each review (though at a somewhat lower bitrate). A HD-30 vs. a BD-50 is not that significant because I haven't noticed too many BD-50s exceeding 35 GB fpr the movie anyway (according to my memory of DVD Beaver reviews). (Does anyone care about what I just said? Probably not. I guess I had to justify to myself why I didn't upgrade the HD-DVDs.)

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
Curiosity makes me wonder if most people who did this offer before it expired are buying movies they don't own on either DVD or HD-DVD (in which case it's a no brainer to me at $4.95 each), or do people already own almost everything on the list (like I do) and struggled deciding which ones are worthy of upgrading from DVD to BD (like the name of the program dvd2blu)?

I was wondering if your CC get charged right away once you place your order or do they wait till they recieve your DVDs and then charge your CC once they ship your order.

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
If anyone's curious, I made three separate orders (I always get cold feet about placing these kinds of orders, that's why I made three different ones) -
Beetlejuice (BD) $4.95
Cowboys, The (BD) $4.95
Eraser (BD) $4.95
Fugitive, The (BD) $4.95
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (BD) $4.95
Rio Bravo (BD) $4.95
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (BD) $4.95
Wedding Singer, The: Totally Awesome Edition (BD)
-----
Chuck: The Complete First Season (BD) $14.95
Chuck: The Complete Second Season (Blu-Ray) $19.95
Searchers, The (BD) $4.95
Pushing Daisies: The Complete Second Season (Blu-Ray)
-----
2001: A Space Odyssey: Special Edition (BD) $4.95
An American in Paris (BD) $4.95
Bullitt (BD) $4.95
Clockwork Orange, A: Special Edition (BD) $4.95
Collateral Damage (BD) $4.95
Dirty Dozen, The (BD) $4.95
Eyes Wide Shut: Special Edition (BD) $4.95
Wild Bunch, The (BD)
I own none of these movies currently on DVD...I figure the actual upgrades that I can make, I can do when the rules go back to normal anytime, right? Why not use the opportunity to get new movies?

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
I love how Warner's DVD2BLU web page still shows the "any DVD" stuff in their FAQ while supposedly that promotion has ended today. What happens to people who place orders today based on the current FAQ who don't scour DVD Talk or Slickdeals to find that 1 magical post from someone who called up DVD2BLU and was told by a rep that this offer secretly ended yesterday? They'd send their stuff in and it would be rejected, or is it possible this lone poster was wrong about the end date?
You'd think they'd at least keep their FAQ in sync with the promotions. How hard is it to switch it back to the old wording? Or perhaps they forgot to save a copy of the old FAQ and their 1 employee who does web updates and is able to rewrite the old FAQ is on vacation until next week? Do they have Clearcase or SourceSafe? Just wildly speculating.
Anyone who had placed an order and then looked at the confirmation email could've told me it was NOT in the EST, so I would've had more time and maybe could've researched and ordered other stuff like Chuck. While I'm interested to see that other people don't mind $14.99 or $19.99 blind buys, that seems too high for me because used DVD and BD prices are so low (everywhere I look) I'd be lucky to get anything back.

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
I emailed them about sending Public Domain stuff in for the DVDs. It fits all the criteria, but is not studio produced. Anybody try to send any PD stuff in?
Also, what is the time limit about sending this stuff in? I thought about waiting until after BF to see if these deals will show up on Amazon. Could save the tax at least.
Only placed one order for 39.80 (2 TV sets and 2 movies). Had to get an extra one because 34.85 does not qualify for free shipping.

Also, I just checked my confirmation email, and there are no times in EST or PST, except for the customer services department. I'm not sure where you're getting this information from.
For me, Pushing Daisies and Chuck were not blind buys, in that I had watched the shows in 720p when they first aired, and greatly enjoyed them. I didn't do research to find out how good they looked in 1080p - they looked good in 720p, so I just assumed they'll look even better in full HD. They were shows I wanted to own on BD but never quite hit the price point for me to pounce until now. (I do own S1 of PD on DVD, and I can't quite justify 15$ to upgrade.)

Well, I didn't read about this ending yesterday until just now, and didn't receive that email myself (although I had received an email about the ANY DVD offer weeks ago). Seeing as the website clearly still shows that offer, I went ahead and placed an order. I will positively raise a stink if they don't honor the "any dvd" deal...

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
If the deal is still good tonight (if we can trust the FAQ saying a particular thing as meaning it's active), then maybe I'll read about Chuck to see if it's worth placing a 3rd order. People said they don't (seem to) enforce the 25 limit across multiple orders and you can have more than 1 order pending.
My big problem with this is that other than a few blind buys, there's nothing on the list that I don't already have on DVD or HD-DVD. When you don't own something at all (and especially if you've seen it on TV so it's not a blind buy), then making these purchases are easy. It's when you have to say "is it worth paying $4.95 or $6.95 to upgrade something I already have" that's tough (for me). I probably shouldn't buy any of these, but BD quality is tempting.

Unfortunately, looking at the site now, it looks like they've re-added the ones they took off before the promotion, and the main page now specifically says "Trade in your Warner Brothers DVDs." Sorry!

Re: $4.95 Blu Rays at DVD2Blu
edit: This is text that appears on my order confirmation, so I should be all set: "For each Blu-ray in your order, please send 1 qualifying DVD (disc only) to our processing center. Qualifying DVDs include any pre-recorded discs that contain professionally produced film content purchased at a regular retail or e-commerce store (excluding adult content). "
