Re: Frys.com 7.99 blurays

Anyone willing to be nice and pick me up a Hot Fuzz, Public enemies, and/or 9 at a local one since they are not online and I can give like 10 bucks each shipped which is what they would charge online with deliver, but you would only pay 24 plus tax which should make it 26 then 4 for shipping... depending on how much shippping is I could give you something for your trouble.

sorry,I should have double check the online price too on these but it was late.
These titles where posted from another forum that deals with blu-rays.

Also I'm not a big fan on Frys.I was in store yesterday looking for a HDTV around 42" to 46".The feed going to most of the tv's was very bad, breaking up alot. And the salesperson didn't say anything about this big sale.

Also alot of their blu-rays that are on sale are not marked downed.
I guess they don't want to sell them.
At least this is the case at my local Frys.

Re: Frys.com 7.99 blurays

Are these B&M prices as well? If so, it's probably a huge YMMV, but some of these titles (Apollo 13, Casino, Serenity) are from Universal, meaning that you could try using the $5 Facebook coupon. I've heard that some Frys don't take coupons, plus the wording on the coupon says for use on "regular priced" items, thus the YMMV.

Re: Frys.com 7.99 blurays

bhauge, all of the BDs mentioned in this thread are in Fry's B&M Friday ad (at least in mine). I ordered the 6 I care about the most and got an email saying they were ready for pickup, and I plan to go Monday night (the latest that I can) since my Fry's is far (11 miles each way is far to me). So everything should be that price in the store, BUT all of the good titles are probably already gone in most stores, and I've never had any luck getting them to give rainchecks or budge an inch if what you want isn't there.

As a backup plan since I don't trust Fry's to have everything there on Monday in spite of their confirmation email, and since I was at Walmart anyway, I pricematched a few of them as Walmart had 3 out of the 6 I ordered in stock. Unfortunately "9" is the one I want the most and I'll still have to go to Fry's for that one. You'd think Walmart would still have that, but no... I guess it's too old now. I can imagine walking into a Walmart and asking for a release from the previous week and being told by a teenage employee "we've already discontinued that... that movie came out last week and it's like so totally old and yesterday". Sure I'm exaggerating but my local Walmart seems to have practically squat in stock lately. If Fry's has everything in my order, then I'll return one of the batches. I like that I have 90 days at Walmart.

Was this a special concession by a manager because you expressed frustration? Or, is this the general policy of Fry's to give you a rain check when picking up a partial order that was initially supposed to be fully stocked? Thanks!

Re: Frys.com 7.99 blurays

Just got back from Palo Alto, Ca Frys. Huge printout of titles available was up in the Blu Ray section. Many of the titles listed were out of stock. Headed over to Best But with a printout from in store. Got a few BDs no problem pricematched at BB.
Thanks OP!

Re: Frys.com 7.99 blurays

I picked up my order that I placed this morning, and they did hold all of the blu-rays for me, so I was pleased. I went over to the blu-ray section and the sale titles were almost all completely wiped out, but there was a sign in the empty spots saying to ask for a rain check, so at least they will honor the price in the future. It doesn't look like they tried to hard to stock up for the sale.

I was there in the morning to pick up my online order and other than Apollo 13 and 9(only like 2 or 3 left of each of these), they had a good amount left of the rest of the titles even at 10:30. Most of them they had 10-20 of each title on the floor from what I could tell actually.

Re: Frys.com 7.99 blurays

Was in this morning (10:30) to pick up my web order in Fremont and they had several of most, though there was no 9 on that I saw (except the one waiting for me to pick up ). Lots of Apollo 13.

This may help someone here

The store in Roseville,Ca also had a few bins of blu-rays back by the computer section away from the movie section that including both $8 blu's and others.Nothing real special though like Public Ememies.

Also what store would be best to price match at?As I never done this before.
Best buy or Walmart? As one might call and see they are out of stock..maybe.

Re: Frys.com 7.99 blurays

I picked up my 4 today too with no problems what so ever. I'm glad the order went through because 3 of the 4 were out of stock on the shelf by the time I got to the store. Great deal on these!

Well Walmarts blu-ray selection is very, very sparse, so there is probably a good chance that they won't have any of these. Best Buy on the other hand probably will have most if not all of them.

Re: Frys.com 7.99 blurays

I picked up 7 titles yesterday (ordered 3 at frys.com and grabbed the rest in store).

Interesting note - they don't charge the credit card for the in-store pick ups. They hold the items and then charge you at the register (that's why the instructions say to bring the same card with you for pick up).

I purchased...

Apollo 13
Casino
Miami Vice
Donnie Brasco ($7.54 in store)
Ghost Rider
Bourne Ultimatum
Hot Fuzz

and got rainchecks for 300 and Public Enemies.

I love Frys. I've spent as long as 90 minutes in the store just looking through the inventory (to buy a couple blu rays or dvd's). The San Marcos, CA store is really nice. (The one in San Diego near Qualcomm Stadium is a dump, though.)

Is the blu-ray inventory much different between stores? I live closer to the San Diego store (I'm close to the 94 fwy) than San Marcos. Would it be worth the extra time and gas to drive out there?

LOL. If you think the San Diego Fry's is a dump, you haven't seen the Manhattan Beach one. It's like a flea market.

I haven't been in the San Diego Fry's for about 9 months, but the San Marcos store had a better DVD and Blu Ray inventory back then than the San Diego store. Not a lot better, but a little bit. It probably wouldn't be worth the gas money to make the trip - unless you want to see how much nicer the San Marcos store is overall.

Ha, exactly! I've been to every Fry's location in Los Angeles and Orange County and every single one of them in my opinion is a dump... (dump might be a bit harsh) so the question is... is there really such a thing as a nice Fry's?

Put it this way, the Fry's locations in and around LA make the "99¢ Only stores" look like Nordstroms. But hey, cheaply priced electronics... who cares what the store looks like.

Have you been to the one off the 91 freeway? It's pretty nice. A lot better than the San Diego store.

But the San Marcos store blows them all away. I really like it. And their prices are really good, and they have a great selection, so that's my retailer of choice.

Thanks for the info! Didn't even know there was one up there.

So, on a whim, went to the San Diego location. Picked up:

Resident Evil
Hot Fuzz
Dogma
Jerry Maguire
9

As an added bonus, outside the store, they were selling hot dogs (with all the fixings you want) and a can of soda for 25 cents. For both, not each. Money went to MADD of San Diego. So, got 2 dogs 2 Sprites for 50 cents. Lunch is served!

That's pretty much just how Fry's is though. It's set up more like a Value Club then a real store. The one in Burbank is almost like the one in Manhattan Beach. If I go to either of those stores it takes me like an hour to find something that I would be able to find at Best Buy in 30 seconds. It's so much cheaper though that I'll never complain! lol
