Uh-oh. My card says: "Must return validated card with receipt to pick up reserved copy".

Thanks. I'm off to TRU to get my card or have a discussion with the manager.

I'm sure someone will push it, but it won't be me. $4 out the door is good enough.

What are we going to do when we actually have to pay 12-15 for a Disney blu-ray?
Even if the best deal was only the $10 for PatF and $5 for each TS, you'd be at $16.99(Target) and $11.99/plus movie tickets(TRU) respectively for each. Still a hell of a deal, IMO.

Are there any scans of the $8 coupons, and are they unique? Yes, yes, I know about the $10 coupons and the $5 coupons, but I'm curious.

No scans; they're unique.

No question about it, especially considering when some got PATF for $1.99, and that included the deposit!

A hell of a deal to be sure. I check my Amazon wish list every day and see all the tired, single-disc catalog titles out for more than a year never dip below $20.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

So here's how I'm hoping/expecting things to go tomorrow.

Total for the two Blu-rays together: $33.98 - $10 pre-order = $23.98
Cost for "The Blind Side": $22.99
Total including tax: $49.79 - $10 TS1 coupon - $10 TS2 coupon - $5 TS1 coupon - $5 TS2 coupon = $19.79, or as I'm going to choose to look at it:

Princess and the Frog: $2.65 (including tax)
Toy Story 1: $1.99
Toy Story 2: $1.99
The Blind Side: $15.81

Or an average of $5.61 (including tax) per film. If you want to include the "Astro Boy" Blu-ray I got the other day for like $1.01 including tax, I paid an average of $4.69 for the last five brand new, new release Blu-rays I have purchased.

The $8 coupon information is available here:

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/blu-ray-bar...-8-coupon.html

Yes, they are unique print-outs. Also, it's too late to get them, at least for this week. It took me two weeks to receive mine, though some have reported receiving them within 1 week or so.

Not to beat a dead horse but... let me get this straight, I want to use both the $10 and $5 coupons tomorrow... correct me if I'm wrong but, TRU allows coupon stacking? even when it clearly says:

I don't want to be "that guy" but I also don't want to waste my time arguing with a TRU cashier when I can just as easily go to Target (albeit not as good a deal).

Hands down TRU will be the best place to purchase if they do indeed accept both the $5 and $10 Disney coupons.

No more reservations for them today... (despite the sign being up) Waste of my time... I'm reminded why I rarely buy at stores these days. I fully expect to get some grief for just the $10 coupons tomorrow, what a hassle...

Almost every coupon ever made has said those exact same terms but we have been able to do it typically. The key it seems with stacking the coupons is to have an additional item usually to represent another item on your receipt so as not to cause a prompt from the register just to be on the safe side(sometimes it seems, YMMV). Personally when I stacked for TPAF I just bought a candy bar which was less than a buck.

I didn't have any trouble doing the pre-order @ TRU this AM - let me correct an "over-sight" with my p/o from yesterday (forgot to use the $5 coupons for the deposit). Walked out the door with PatF for $4.99 (no tax apparently - don't know how that happened).

Cool Thanks! I'll be sure to add something cheap to my purchase.

You've got the right attitude if you go in understanding that's it's going to be YMMV.

You have every right to use/argue for one $10 off coupon on each movie, but anything beyond that is gravy.

Is anyone else still getting PATF for 26.99?
No, the in-store sale ended on Sunday, 3/21. I actually did the pre-order on Monday, and PatF was back up to $34.99 already...

I was tempted to ask about price-matching their website, but decided not to push it at the end, because the cashier scanned and accepted both the $10 and $5 PatF coupons. Of course, the deal is not as good as those who only paid $1.99 plus tax the week before. But paying $9.99 plus tax for the 3-disc PatF Combo Pack (in addition to paying $10 toward the TS1 and TS2 pre-order) was not a bad deal at all either.

As a small consolation, this week Toys R Us is giving a free PatF jewelry box ($7.99 value) with any "Disney Princess" movie purchases. So I did get one of these for free with the pre-order. Naturally I would've preferred to save $8 over a toy box, but hopefully the smile from a friend's daughter would make up for it...

Actually, that may not be entirely accurate, because they might be different $10 coupons...

The reason I say that is because I printed two $10 Princess and the Frog coupons on 3/16, which came with the 3/21/10 expiration date. Then when I checked again on 3/22, I was surprised to find the $10 PatF coupon available again. Somehow, I was able to print out two more $10 coupons from the same PC, and this time the expiration date showed 3/28/10.

So anyway, either Disney is being generous and extended the expiration date of the original coupon, or just coded an entirely new one. Either way, enjoy them while they lasts...

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

I went yesterday and pre-ordered 2 copies of each. Got $20 of each additional. I wanted Pixar Shorts Vol. 1, but no TRU here had it. So I took The Tinkerbell Movie and Bolt. I used the $8.00 upgrade coupon I had for Bolt.

P.S. Online they had Pixar Shorts, so I called customer service about ordering a third copy of each, but they don't take $20 off for online. So I passed.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Well, this is the morning. Good luck to all and I wish you every success with using the coupons. If I get to use both of them I'll be very happy and I'll be sure to throw in a candy bar to see if that helps the transaction go smoothly. Obviously it's always going to be YMMV.

I'm curious to see how everyone fairs today and look forward to reading about it all after work.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

We are going to only use the two $10 off upgrade coupons. We pre-ordered a few weeks ago when they had preorder and got $15 off. So, it will be:

$16.99 x 2 = $33.98
- $10 pre-paid
- $20 in upgrade coupons
- $5 (5 off 25 purchase TRU coupon)

For a grand total -$1.02 (free candybar anyone?)

Of course we had to pay $10 but I also fiigure we got $5 back for doing so which means $2.50 or so per movie, if my math if correct.

I'm pretty sure they give you a gift card back for the amount of the coupon. I still can't understand why they do it, especially Target where it's pure cash back. It seems ripe for abuse. Although technically the manufacturer is getting abused if it's a manufacturer's coupon so they wouldn't care too much. Another thing that works at TRU is if there's a buy 2 for $10 deal or something, you can usually do unbundled returns, unlike how Target's receipts usually say must return both. So I wouldn't be surprised if you could buy both Toy Story 1 and 2 for $16.99 and then return one for $16.99 and keep the other one. If you only wanted one for some bizarre reason.

Score!

Both movies, $6.00 out the door! No pre-order. (Technically $6.02, but I gave a $10 and she gave me $4 back)

The computer took both coupons for each. I made sure I went to a woman that has worked there for years and kind of knew me. She also gave me her email address so I could send her the UPC #s.

They send them via regular mail to us from time to time. Wife forgot it at home anyway

She bought New Moon because they were giving away a collector box (looks like a jewely case) with purchase. Total out the door was $31.xx so I guess I can't complain too much other than I only wanted TS1+2.
