Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
I went ahead and bought Watchmen and Star Trek for 15$ each today. I also bought Crank for $3.99 and Omega Man for $4.99 the other day.
I've noticed that if you purchase two or more Blu's with this coupon, even with seperate transactions, the coupon doesn't want to go through the second time. It happened to me with both Omega Man and Star Trek. Both times I got the employee to override it just fine, but I still find that odd.

I'm the same way. That idiotic practice actually kept me from purchasing some of the $3.99 titles over the weekend.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
Was rejected tonight because it wasn't Transformers. I pushed a bit, but the cashier wouldn't budge.
I was in a hurry, so didn't put up too big of a stink. I'll just go back another time and try again.

Clearly if it was just meant for Transformers it wouldn't take off anything.
Maybe I'm just lucky the cashier I had tonight was a cute young girl who was just seasonal help.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
Having read on other threads that other retailers may accept the Target $5 coupon, I decided to give it a try.
Went to Best Buy to pick up Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian on blu. In store price was $22.99, but bestbuy.com had it for $18.99. I requested the price match first. No problem. Then I asked if they would accept the Target coupon. He took a look at it, laughed and replied "I don't care" and manually overrode the price. Price out the door (no sales tax in Oregon) was $13.99.
Obviously this is a huge ymmv and I'm in this Best Buy a lot (having spent $1600 this year on media alone)...but it's worth an attempt.

Here's my thing. Since the coupon is still scanning with most titles (which seem to be over a certain price point), why can't they just scan it if they're going to put up a stink? If the register takes it, then you should be entitled to the discount. If not, no harm no foul.
Clearly if it was just meant for Transformers it wouldn't take off anything.

The price of the BD does not matter.
It is simply random whether or not the coupon automatically scans/applies to a BD. It is probably that all BDs at Target are not coded in their system as BDs.
I've used 4 coupons in a single transaction, they all scanned fine, and two of the titles were the $8.99 sale titles.

Thanks to the OP for the link and this thread. Picked up my first BD today, Wild Bunch for $4.99. Coupon didn't scan, and the cashier kind of did a double-take at the T2 picture, but he quickly over-rode and gave me the discount.

Ah. Well, that doesn't do me any good unless they'll accept printouts from the site. Is Target that amenable to that? Some places don't match online prices, just printed ads, otherwise everyone would be matching Amazon. I used to return books to B&N and Border's for full MSRP credit, but as Amazon got so big and cheaper, they started only giving the Amazon price and now not even that.

The coupon and cash register don't know who you are and if it's your second time using it or not.

i picked up angels & demons and terminator salvation for $15 each. it was kind of strange though. terminator salvation went fine coupon scanned and everything. my girlfriend was getting angels & demons at another register with another coupon and that scanned but said "item not available" and cashier argued it had to be transformers 2, i asked for manager and she took off the $5 manually. there were a couple other blus i wanted will probably go back today after work.

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
I really don't understand why anyone would think this coupon is ONLY meant for TF2 just because it is pictured as the one "example" title on the coupon....if the coupon was only meant for TF2, it would specifically say so....saying this coupon is only valid for TF2 just because it is pictured on it despite the verbiage clearly meaning any BD purchase over $5 is like saying the "15% off Microsoft computer accessory" coupon is only valid for the one specific mouse they have pictured on that coupon, or the "10% off iPod player" coupon is only valid for the iPod Touch they have pictured on that coupon....
I'd suggest anyone who is getting grief when trying to use this coupon also print out and carry one of those two coupons I just mentioned and point this out to the associate/manager when they want to claim it is only for TF2....

Re: Target $5 off BD printable coupon
I just spoke with a customer service person at Target. she talked to her manager and they said that this coupon is supposed to be for all Blu-ray, but it's completely the store's discretion on how they interpet the coupon's wording. She said that she was going to be sending me several very generic blu-ray coupons that would not cause any confusion at the stores.
