Re: Target Ad -- BDs -- November 27 & 28
I just checked their policy and it looks like if you buy it within a week before they WILL adjust the pricing.
"Price Adjustments:
If you see a lower price listed in one of our Target Weekly Ads, we will adjust the price of your online order to match the advertised price if you purchased the item within 1-7 days prior to the ad; you contact us during the Weekly Ad where the lower price is featured; and the lower price is not on a clearance item."

That said I will looking for a few items to buy ahead of time next week just in case.

Depending if I have to work or not might have to swing by Target and pick up Gremlins and possibly 2001.

The real trouble is that The Wizard of Oz may be the only deal worth getting at Target on that day. Standing in line for how long to get in and then to get out may not be worth it at all, never mind passing up on the opportunity to stand in line for deals at a different store instead.
I plan to take my chances with catching this in stock at the Target website. The past years, many of their BF deals have been available online starting on Thanksgiving day.

Re: Target Ad -- BDs -- November 27 & 28
not sure about everywhere else but target out here in L.A. doesnt even accept returns let alone price matching there own price on black friday, the cs counter is pretty much open to field phone calls and take care of getting people signed up for the target card, in hopes that coustmers will turn around and spend a fortune.
Heres something to maybe give some hope about finding this on black friday though.
i was at the glendale target tonight, they had a space for gremlins gone with the wind wizard of oz but no discs. I asked about wizard of oz they used the pda to scaned the price card showing 30 instock in the back, the employee went to get one but came back empty handed saying they were labled to not be put on shelf till next friday.

Re: Target Ad -- BDs -- November 27 & 28
Because GWTW 1-disc is a Target exclusive. Since the BD/DVD orders on target.com are actually filled by amazon.com, they will not sell it. Its not actually 'Target' that sells the dvds on target.com, but Amazon(hence why they don't have it listed).
In addition the WoO most likely will not be on target.com either. Both of these are pretty much b&m exclusives, so you'll have to buy them in-store. Amazon does not carry them, therefore target.com will not carry them.

Re: Target Ad -- BDs -- November 27 & 28
There is no longer any indicator on the target.com website that their DVD/BD orders are fulfilled by Amazon....there used to be a big notice for the movies category and on every media products page about it....now, the only thing I see that even says Amazon.com on the site anymore is a tiny little "powered by amazon.com" at the very bottom in minuscule print under their site's trademark and copyright notice.....
Edit: forgot to mention...you can buy SOME of the Target store exclusives through their website too, like the Star Trek exclusive Enterprise case version...which Amazon doesn't sell themselves...

Because I don't keep track of such trivial things
Since this has come up I looked on the site and saw this at the bottom.

This may be true of these titles and some others but as a blanket statement this is not true. You can buy many Target exclusive DVD/Blu-Ray discs at target.com even though they are not sold at Amazon.com.

Also, the Star Trek exclusive is not JUST a Target exclusive, I BELIEVE there is a Canadian retailer that sells it. And I believe the GWTW and WoO exclusives are sold ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY at Target stores, and no other retailer anywhere. I could be wrong, though.

Re: Target Ad -- BDs -- November 27 & 28
I was just at Target trying to locate the Gone with the Wind and Wizard of Oz BR sets for BF. I didn't see them anywhere, so I'm wondering were these ever released, did they sell out, or are they being held in back for BF since they are Target exclusives? ("They" probably being a dozen or so copies for hundreds of people who will want them. No rainchecks of course.)
It probably wouldn't matter anyway because at least at my Target hiding stuff doesn't seem to work. I did a test run a week ago by hiding a handful of movies I wanted in various locations in electronics and various nearby sections. A few of them were in really good hiding spots (like dropped in between racks where you can't see them or in a box in a drawer in a piece of furniture), and every last one of them was gone when I checked. So I'm convinced either they go through everything top to bottom in the store weekly with a magnifying glass, or the dudes who watch the millions of cameras above make a note whenever they see someone hiding something and go around afterwards to make sure nobody succeeds in hiding something for a BF deal. And I was pretty smooth in hiding stuff by looking at other stuff and then sliding the items behind as I put the other stuff back, so the camera dudes must have powerful zooms or magic eyes.
So at least I've adjusted my expectations that I probably won't get the "hot" items on BF at Target since it will not be my first stop (this BF I have some higher priority items than movies).

GWTW was on new release endcap (currently 50% Star Trek) on the very bottom row.

Re: Target Ad -- BDs -- November 27 & 28
I just stopped in Target and they had both the Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind on the shelves. There was quite a few copies of Gone with the Wind. I went to customer service and they said they would price match on Friday as long as the items were purchased within the last two weeks.
