I have to admit, this is one of the most screwed up sales I've seen them run.

They use fluid supply-and-demand pricing, and they run a 30%-off sale. So, they thrown in an across-the-board reduction, and of course, a bunch of stuff sold quickly at the discounted prices, causing the prices to rise on remaining in-stock items. So now the 30%-off doesn't exist anymore, really. If you're going to run this kind of sale, you kind of have to lock your prices. Otherwise, it pisses off your customers.

Exactly. I have several items on my wish list I've watched for months. There are prices now that are only 5% off of even the highest price I've ever seen them.

Prices were great before. Now they are more like a regular overpriced rental store.

Maybe they realized that the prices in the first 30% off sale were a bit "too" good. Really some outstanding deals the first time around on some rarely discounted BD. But we can hope they'll come around again.

There is no code for this sale. They just dropped all (OK, not really "all," but maybe "most of") their used Blu-ray prices by 30% a few days ago.

If some code does become available, like a free shipping code, or a $5 off code, it would probably be stackable. One can only hope...

I got a few used Blu-rays at an average price of less than $10 combined so I am satisfied:

Because of the confusion we have set the promotion up to show the sale price in red on the product page. In my post I said the average was under $10. The Ninth Gate was $5.96 & King of NY was $7.69 not including shipping. Oldboy was $11.89 which pulled the average up.

Every Blu-ray I have received from Hastings (over 30) has been in Like New condition so I have no qualms about ordering used from them.

Yup, received almost most everything from my order and everything was in like new condition with slipcovers and some even came with the digital copy codes. Very pleased and will be placing future orders with these guys.

Amadeus came brand-spankin-new, shrinkwrapped and sealed with the digital copy and everything. A Bug's Life also came brand new. Not bad.

Got most of my order besides Quantum of Solace (should be here Monday?) and American Werewolf in London- Full Moon Edition hasn't even shipped out but the ones I received were in amazing condition with everything included so I'm very impressed....

Deal is Dead.

Current promos are now B2G1 dvd's (not Blu), Vampire movies on sale, and $7.99 new dvd's. (some used blu's are still on sale, but no major promo going on)

And now it seems like many Blu-ray prices are much higher than they were during the sale. Again, this seems like it was pretty stupid. Now we have to wait for supply and demand to have an effect to bring the prices back down.

They dropped prices by 30%. They sold a few, and prices changed over the week or so of the sale (some up, some even more down--in the end, probably far more of them went up than down as supply dwindled). After the sale ended, they raised the prices by (about) 43% (to counter the initial 30% discount). Now, every Blu-ray on my want-list is at least 20% higher than it was before the sale started (or sold out, of course).

That's ok. I could use a breather. My wallet is still smoking. I need a break before another sale kicks in and the titles on my wish list are back in stock!

My copy of Zack and Miri make a porno came absolutely wrecked. The case and cover art is destroyed it has holes and rips all over it so I figured oh well at the least the disk will probably be fine because of that whole scratch resistance nonsense on blu-ray discs. Well the disc is scratched to high hell with some nice deep scratches and plenty of light ones.

American Werewolf in London- Full Moon Edition got cancelled from my order so I got stuck paying a higher shipping charge for one thing. Oh well.... Quantum of Solace came today in perfect condition....
