I picked up Trick 'r Treat for $9.99. I wouldn't bite on it at $20, but at $10, I couldn't resist. It should become another Halloween staple.

Boogie Nights is down to $16.99. I know it's not that cheap, but it's pretty much been $20-25 since release. Perhaps it's low enough for some to bite. I'm waiting for sub-$15.

Pretty sure Monster Squad is a regular $8.00 Blu title at many U.S. Wal-Marts these days.

....it may be. I don't buy Blus at Wal-Mart. The one here has nothing of value.

To bad you can't mix and match to make your own double feature.

Boogie Nights - $16.99

Just jumped on this. I've been watching the price at Amazon for a few weeks. It's always been around $20.

I assume a store that does is simply too far away?

Perhaps the older, smaller stores don't have the $8 and $10 permanent selections that I've seen in at least four American superstores now? Regardless, I do wish Amazon would match Wal-Mart on a lot of stuff I've bought there recently (RELIC, HARD RAIN, RUNNING MAN, MONSTER SQUAD), but those are the breaks, I guess. Amazon's prices are still decent, but the fluctuation gets tiresome.

Every Walmart I've been to in my area (at least 5 or 6 of them, including one that is a brand new supercenter) has a very small Blu-Ray selection, and what they do have seems to be scattered randomly throughout the movie section (some on an endcap, some mixed in with regular dvd's, a very small section over by the Blu players, etc.)

I think we're in agreement, then? This is exactly what I've seen at the stores I've been to in the U.S. I wasn't implying a huge variety of titles, just a modest selection of cheap titles, and consistently cheaper than Amazon and seemingly not subject to price fluctuation. I'd estimate maybe 25-35 titles all in. The selection has been virtually identical at all of the stores I've been to, as is the scattered placement of the discs on the racks. At $8 and $10 (and even some of the $15 titles), many of them are consistently cheaper than Amazon, which is why I wish the latter would match, especially on titles with limited audiences such as those I mentioned in the last post (like Monster Squad, which is what prompted me to post in the first place). Oddly enough, many of the Blu-rays priced at $15 at Walmart in the U.S. are only $9.83 at Walmart in Canada, whereas the $8 Lionsgate/Paramount titles are usually more expensive up here.

Three local Walmarts near me have a very crappy and small selection of Blu-rays. Two of them have more Spanish language DVDs than Blu-rays.

Rebate has expired. I opened my Event Horizon case from BB. The purchase of the Blu-ray Disc must have been made in 2009, and a postmark date by 1-31-2010.

Thanks for confirming. That is what I suspected... Still a good deal for 10 bucks, of course... I was just hoping for free! :p

Some of these double features look worth owning.
does anyone know if they are 2 disc/one case?

also i did a search of "double feature blu-ray" on Amazon and it looks like they some other titles available for $18.99.

These look like 2 disc/one case deals..

Last Man Standing / The Last Boy Scout (Action Double Feature) [Blu-ray]
Kelly's Heroes/Where Eagles Dare (Action Double Feature) [Blu-ray] 2 disc, double check with a google search though
Funny Farm / Spies Like Us (Comedy Double Feature) [Blu-ray]

1 disc, 1 case, these catalogue titles are all ones that would have fit on a single layer disc so WB puts them both on 1 50 gig dual layer disc.
