Don't waste your time. Amazon stopped with price drop guarantees about two years ago (excluding pre-orders only).
Also, don't think it was mentioned but The Graduate is $9.99. I'm probably gonna bite. |

re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
Even though amazon doesn't have a price adjustment policy anymore, it's still YMMV and it never hurts sending them an email asking for it. The last time I did it I got the following back
Hello from Amazon.com. Thanks for writing to us about the recent price change on "product X". I recognize you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Unfortunately, we do not have a post-order price guarantee. I've reviewed your order and see that the price change was significant and you just received this item from us. Under the circumstances, I'll make a one-time exception for you and issue a refund for the price difference in the amount of $x. Please understand that I'm issuing this refund because of the exceptional circumstances, and I'm doing this for you against our standard policy. |
re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
Yeah, it's always worth emailing Amazon CS because even when you know you're not entitled to what you're asking for they sometimes give it to you. The whole Up/Monsters Inc event proves that. I've alwYs been very happy with their CS.

re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
I'ved even gotten a 5.00 credit once when the item was in the stages of getting ship and it only went down like a buck. quite recently too. totally worth the email to amazon CS.

re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
All four of the (uncut) Discovery Atlas series individual releases are now $9.99. That includes China, Australia, Italy and Brazil.
Note, in the complete set, which sells for what seems like nothing in comparison, these ~100 minute episodes are trimmed down to 43 or so minutes. You can read all about it in the reviews. |
re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
Triangle (Blu-Ray) has dropped down to $14.99

re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
I'm really pissed at Amazon for Triangle. Basically, I'm punished for pre-ordering it from them seeing as how CS won't drop the price for me even though it changed on the day of release. That's a really shitty thing to do to customers, especially when they're being loyal.

My "Casablanca" pre-ordered for $16.49 and shipped yesterday. The price then dropped to $14.99. I expect to get that back! |

re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
I got the 4 dollar price difference and I hadn't even asked for it nor did I even know that the price had changed. I received an email today saying that the price had changed (after it shipped) and that they were refunding me the difference. This is not what I would expect Amazon to do.

re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
Personally i officially gave up on pre-ordering anything from amazon anymore, since a major amount of the time its cheaper the day it comes out or the next day. B

re: Amazon.com Discounts and Deals on Blu-ray
I really need to quit reading this thread so regularly. If I'd seen the Discovery Atlas discs in a store for $9.99 each, I probably would have glanced at them and moved on. Here, I look up the reviews, think 'wow, those sound like pretty cool shows for such a low price' and buy them. It's weird, but it seems I'm more of an impulse buyer when the physical goods aren't actually in front of me.

Yes it shipped. After the first CS rep denied me the refund I sent another, more pointed email. Luckily a different rep got that one and gave me the discount. The second rep claimed that I would have gotten the discount automatically, but if that's true, then why did the first rep deny me?

The dark crystal went back down to $12.99. For those without prime trial it goes well with Labyrinth for $12.99 also.
