I would have returned it then & there. There's no need for CS reps to get rude. I'm gonna try BB tomorrow since I did not make it out today. If they don't pm WM I'm gonna try to get a refund.

I went ahead and ordered one off Amazon yesterday along with a cheap hd dvd to give me fsss since I was needing an extra copy.

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

The best buy by my house in La mesa CA told me they always pricematch the walmart website, they also said they sometimes price match amazon.com as well it just depends. Some people will price match it and some people won't
this is just my experience though

I did as well, but not without a hassle. Here's my great tale. Reminds me of why I shop online.

Decided to pre-order from Best Buy as I thought the steelbook was neat and I'd even pay a little more for it. Plus there's a Best Buy about 10 minutes from work. Did that with no trouble back in early September. Even almost got them to use the $10 coupon then. Seemed real nice about it.

Fast forward to today. I knew Amazon was selling this for $9.99. But I already paid $7.50 and figured I'd just do the easy thing and go with Best Buy for a little extra cost. Get there, pick up steelbook, go to checkout. There's no line, but they send me over to Customer Service for pre-orders. Go there. There's one person helping people and three people in line in front of me. The person at the counter is taking an epicly long time. Mainly due to stupid stuff as I can hear the whole conversation. Not Best Buy's fault, but it just adds to the frustration. Eventually one of the people in front of me gives up and leaves. Eventually get to the front of the line. What should have taken 2 minutes max is now taking at least 20. I get everything processed, but the coupon won't scan. This involves another meeting, discussion, and interpretation. Eventually it is decided they won't take the coupon because the item is on sale. I'm told all retailers would tell me the same thing. I reply, this is a manufacturer's coupon, don't you just get reimbursed from them? No real reply to that.

So I was left to either pay the balance of the $25 plus tax (minus the $7.50 preorder) or walk away. I decided to refund my deposit and go elsewhere. They advised they would do so, but only as store credit. I said fine. Got a store credit and left. Never asked for the steelbook. So I guess I'll order from Amazon, keep the steelbook, and pay $9.99 total once I used by Best Buy credit. Not bad in the end, though not worth it for the near 30 minutes it took to accomplish this task. Why Best Buy won't just accept the coupon I'll never know.

is there a $10 coupon or any for that matter that can easily be printed for the SDVD 2-disc releasing on 11/24 that someone can give the link for if exists?

Nope...the $10 off coupon is a studio incentive to sell more Blu-ray Discs....

I had no problem getting my Best Buy to both match the $19.96 price of the Walmart ad AND accept the $10 coupon....
Since I had pre-ordered a copy there for the steelbook case, I had already paid $7.50 towards the total....I only had to pay the remaining $2.46 plus tax and I was out the door, good to go....
Of course I was SUPPOSED to be getting it from Toys R Us, but my stupid local store refused to honor their own advertised pre-order incentive for a $5 gift card at pickup, so I got my deposit there refunded and went with BB....

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

after reading some of the tales here, i was all ready to leave if BB didn't take the coupon today. i went through the checkout line and was told that i needed to go to customer service which i did. the girl there scanned my preorder receipt and then i told her i would like to PM TRU. she looked at it for a few seconds and said okay and then i showed her that i had a coupon as well. she read through the entire thing, but finally gave me the discount. $3.53 later, i was out the door.

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

Absolutely no problems at Best Buy with the pricematch, coupon and preorder ... PLUS I got a free replica Poster of the original Movie Poster. I did not even have to go to the Customer Service counter.

Total (including preorder): $10.98

... they didn't scan my preorder ticket either. They just entered it as $7.50 off manually. ... which could be dangerous in unethical hands.

I never get WM ads in papers or the mail. Do they have this ad in store?

Used the $10 coupon at my BB with no problems. Brought the disc to CS, they rang it up, put in the coupon and out the door.

Not sure, some stores may have copies of their ad where you walk in, but that is definitely a YMMV situation (I got my WM ad in the mail included in with a bunch of other random ads inside some free local community newspaper)....
You could also try and grab a Toys R Us ad instead, as they are also selling it for $19.99...they usually have copies of their ad for customers to take at the front of their stores, but again YMMV....

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

I don't know what I'm doing wrong .. I used the link at the beginning of this thread a few weeks ago to print a coupon. When I tried to redeem it, TRU could not scan it. It pronted w/o a bar code and w/o the numerous barcodes at the bottom of the page. (this has happened before on a previous Disney coupon).

I just tried snowwhiteoffer.com and got the same thing. For some reason it is printing invalid coupons, but it does not give me an error.

Edit: it does have some kind of barcode in the lower left hand corner, and something that looks like a barcode below the "expires" date. But I've seen a good one and it does not look like this. Have no idea what the problem is.

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

Went back to Best Buy and tried to pricematch with a different cs rep after they turned me down earlier today. No problem. They remarked that they had seen the ad in the Sunday paper, though I did bring printouts from their website for good measure. $9.96 out the door, along with the steelbook and the poster.

I had no problems pricematching Toys R Us and using the coupon at Best Buy. I forgot to get the poster, though.

You don't even need to buy it in the first place. If you order online at Best Buy you can just not pick it up. The money reverts to you and no harm done. The price matching issue is a different matter. But why buy something you have the intention of returning?

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

ended up using the $10 off coupon at TRU. got the blu-ray + $5 gift card for $11.45 after tax, technically bringing the film down to $6.45 for me. worked out much better than the amazon deal imo. and it seems like TRU has been having the best deals on release week for disney BDs. hopefully that remains the case in the future!

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

Surprised more people didn't go to TRU.

Pre-Ordered Two copies last night, one DVD package and one Blu-Ray package. Total was $10. Went in after work this evening, grabbed one of each and went through check-out. Each rang up 19.99 - $5 deposit on each to 14.99. Ten scanned coupon on each which brought it down to 4.99. Here is the best part. They couldn't get the $5 gift card to work, so they just deducted another $5 off of each. Total was like $1.26 each.

Went right into the Best Buy across the street and returned my two preorders (that I specifically paid cash for) for $8.13 each. Never even asked about the steelbook (although I suspect they didn't ring it up correctly in the first place, because there was nothing on the reciept about package deal or steelbook at all, only the blu-ray SKU was listed).

So Got Two copies of Snow White Blu-ray/DVD and two steelbooks for $6.26 each.

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

I missed the whole pre-order deal, so I went into BB today to see what I could work. They had both versions marked at $24.99. I asked CS about the SteelBook which was nowhere to be found in any of the locations mentioned in this thread.

She checked and found there were 19 in store, and called someone who retrieved it from somewhere in the back. I maintained that it was free with purchase of Diamond Edition.

Since there was no price tag on it, she read some fine print, and allowed me to do two transactions: one for the SteelBook at $14.99, which she then credited to the Diamond Edition. She also took the Disney coupon for $10.00 off the DE with no questions.

Bottom line, I walked out with the DE and SteelBook for $14.99 + tax.

Picked up my copy for $8 and some change today after all the coups and pre-order stuff.

Great deal.

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

Worth noting:

1. BB has the 3-disc in DVD case marked at $29.99, and the 3-disc in BD case marked at $34.99. Even though the contents are exactly the same, they are still going to job the Blu-ray buyer once the sale is over.

2. It seems they have a ton of the SteelBooks in stock at $14.99 each. I don't know what they are going to do with all these, as I don't think many people will be willing to shell out fifteen bucks for an empty case.

For any of those who have trouble printing out the $10 coupon -- I have an extra one I can send out. Mine expires 10/20/09 and so I would like to mail this off to the first person who PMs me ASAP.

Re: Snow White AT7D $10 off coupon

I knew there would be a mixture of success and no success stories. The supervisor told me I could either pricematch OR use the manufacturer's coupon, but since I was confident that Walmart would be $9.96 out the door I said either give it to me for $9.96 + tax or refund my preorder and I'll go to Walmart. Surprisingly the supervisor said OK.

Interesting to read other people's stories. I've now learned that if you preorder something and cancel the preorder after 30 days, you'll most likely end up with store credit. I wonder if they take your driver's license and count an after-30-day-preorder-refund the same as your once a year $50 receiptless return?

Also, a couple people mentioned a free Snow White poster. Well, I saw them next to the Blu-Rays, but when I read the poster offer text nowhere did it mention Snow White, so I didn't even try. I decided to pass on the other $15 Disney Blu-Rays (I would've been surprised if the supervisor would've allowed that deal too).

One thing no one has explicitly mentioned: did anyone have Best Buy scan the $10 off coupon and have it automatically take $10 off or was it always done with a manual override (like mine)? The supervisor didn't even try to scan the coupon, so I assume he already knew it wouldn't scan. I'd love to know why Best Buy's system can't take manufacturer's coupons, but Walmart, TRU, and Target all can. It would also be interesting to know if you use it at 1 store if it no longer works at another store through a shared database (since these are supposed to be "one-time use" coupons). If not, then whichever store submits it first to Disney would get paid and the other one wouldn't.

Another thing I've learned: 7 months after the Bolt Blu-Ray Disney coupon where I had the same problem at Best Buy (first being denied and then having the price overridden at a different store) the problem still exists, so I think it's safe to assume that the next time we have a new Disney release with a manufacturer coupon, we'll probably have the same YMMV issue at Best Buy.

yesh, the free snow white poster is only supposed to be good with select $6.99 disney sd dvds.

i believe the free steelbook offer is only for the blu-ray/sd dvd release. which means bestbuy might have an offer for the sd dvd too (it just might be the same offer though lol). i guess ymmv in any case.
