It's $17.88 at Sam's Club...since most are reporting $20 @ WM.

Stopped by another Wally World today and the removal of Blu-ray was obvious. They had maybe 2 dozen titles and no specials

I used the $5 Universal coupon at Walmart today to pick up the "8 Mile" Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. $10 plus tax. Might try to sell the DVD to a friend or one of my cousins to try and get a few dollars for it.

Just read over on SD that a few people have found the 3 disc 'Star Trek' and 'Transformers 2: ROTF' on blu for $10.

This is a huge YMMV, but it can't hurt to check it out next time you're there, which is what I'll be doing tomorrow after work.

Lots of the $8 titles at the Sterling location. Didn't notice the above $10 deals, but didn't know to look either.

My Wal-mart had an entire bin full of these but they eventually sold them out and the price went back to normal.

Is the Close Encounters with the (Wal-Mart exclusive) CD still showing up? I've only seen it without the CD, and being angry at Wal-Mart for taking all the porn off Vudu, having the CD is the only way I'll buy it from them.

It's YMMV. I saw the CD on one of the four that was on the shelf a couple of months ago.

I bought Fringe Season 1 for $24.96 + tax tonight.

Stopped into the WM nearest my home this weekend and found they had rearranged their video aisles during the week. One entire two-sided, DVD display section half an aisle long is now gone, and there are fewer DVD titles.

Blu now has it's own uniquely shaped, eight-sideded display section (sort of a rectangular octagon with a vertical column of titles on each corner) that's about half as long as the DVD section that was removed.

It holds all the BR titles except for a few on the new releases end cap. This is a store that didn't have a lot of Blu-ray titles to begin with.

I saw this same setup as well at my local WM this morning....and I just had to laugh when I noticed the official WM signage on their display was advertising them as "Blu-ray DVDs". rotfl

Walmart has The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus on B-r for $19.96, which is a penny cheaper than Fry's.

re: Walmart / walmart.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I saw Fringe and the 2 Sarah Connor Chronicles on BD for $24.96 at my Walmart. However, I passed on them (especially as I've never seen either). In fact, I just returned a Fringe BD that I bought for $19.99 at Best Buy (with a Fry's PM) a few days earlier, so that made Walmart seem overpriced by $5. I bought the SD DVD set for $9.99 at Best Buy after hearing people rave about it, and then on the 31st day (ok... it may have a been a little longer) the $19.99 BD deal became available, but Best Buy and Fry's wouldn't give you a refund on the 31st day if your life depended on it, so I was stuck with my SD DVDs. Costco has Fringe SD DVD for $16.99, I think, and FYE would give me far less than I paid for my unopened set (in fact, FYE's trade-in prices have been so low recently that they are in effect telling me we don't want my trade-ins any more). So I decided it was much easier to live with my already purchased SD DVD Fringe set which I hope to open and start watching soon. I've recently realized that there is really almost no resale value in DVDs any more, and once I buy something I'm probably stuck with it forever.

Don't have a Fry's around here so a PM for me is very unlikely. I am sure it will turn up below $19.99 at some point.

I should note that these were mixed in with the other TV sets and not with the BDs.

I picked this up on Friday and it seems to be the best price out there right now even with tax. We actually finished watching it a few minutes ago and it is a strange but entertaining movie.

Visited my 2nd closest store and they had revamped the electronics section a bit. They moved most blus onto a 4 sided stand ranging from $10-30. The rest were all on an end cap (new releases, some of the $8 titles). DVDs also had a similar setup except there was one normal row of dvd newer releases. TV on DVD had been expanded with the room the blu rays were no longer taking up on the shelving.

I didn't notice that, but probably because I was too busy looking at the titles. I'll have to check it the next time I'm there.

Should be good for a laugh.
