$4 DVDs @ Wal-Mart

Hello everyone,

I don't post very often so hopefully I won't mess this up.

There is a new $4.00 DVD display at Wal-Mart. Ours is up as of today but it could be tomorrow where you are. The cases are marked for a 07-08-08 display date but sometimes the mods drop earlier than that. I didn't want you to miss out because we were only sent about 5 copies of each title. They might disappear quickly. Almost all are widescreen versions, only a few fullscreen. Here is a partial list based on what I can remember. Sorry I didn't write them all down or take a screenshot. These replaced the display that had Real Genius, Princess Bride ( Dread Pirate Edition ), The Last Starfighter, etc.

Spaceballs ( Collectors Edition )
The Princess Bride ( Buttercup Edition )
Elecktra ( 2 Disc Collectors Edition )
Daredevil ( Collectors edition )
Die Hard 1, 2 & 3
Alien 3
The Amityville Horror ( The newest one, the remake )
Date Movie
Entrapment

At least 15 more titles, I can't remember the exact titles. You're pretty much just seeing my shopping list here. Maybe you all can fill in the blanks a bit.

Go check them out. If they aren't on the shelves they are likely in the back room.

Thanks for all the great posts!

I might pick up The Princess Bride (my daughter hasn't seen it) but I would be very interested in what those other titles are.

Discount card at Wal-Mart? Is that an employee discount? If so, it looks like it's only a 15% discount. Wal-Mart lame.

One of the local stores here had the display out, I'll try to remember as many titles as I can...
Roll Bounce, Adventures of Cody Blank, Amityville Horror 2005, Species 3, Runaway Jury, Lake Placid, Princess Bride, First Daughter, The Sentinel, The Order, The Omen 2005, Planet of the Apes Tim Burton, and four or five others. I'll edit if I remember. Spaceballs was the best deal.

GAH ! I paid $20 for The Princess Bride Buttercup Edition. (I had waited for it to go down in price around here & it never did & I never, at the time, found it cheaper online... this was about a year or so ago.) Geez, $4 !!!!! Well, time to stock up for Chanukah gifts for my sister, friends, and dance class mates. Thanks for the post !

The Wal-Mart discount for employees is 10% on general merchandise items and select grocery items. It would be nice if it were more but at least it's something. I bought 8 DVDs and saved almost enough to consider one of them free...almost but not quite.

Glad to hear my post was helpful to some of you. I'll try to complete the list tomorrow when I get home from work.

Don't feel too bad Lissa, I sold Princess Bride (Dread Pirate) a few months ago on Half.com for $39.95

Big thanks! I also got the 2-disc Spaceballs this morning - along with the Amityville remake.

Apart from the titles mentioned, I also saw a few other dump bin staples on the $4 display: Taxi (Queen Latifah), Stuck On You (FF) and Le Divorce.

Thanks to the OP! I picked up Princess Bride, Daredevil and Elektra! I came very close to buying a used Princess Bride for $30 a couple of weeks ago, so this $4 deal for a new one pleases me to no end. Much appreciated.

I'm sure this is probably a to most people, but is that Elektra Directors Cut worth buying? The Daredevil DC was much better than the original so I was just wondering about the Elektra.

I think I am one of about ten people in the entire world who somewhat enjoyed Elektra. I do remember likeing the directors better but can't recall why at this point. If you didn't like the original cut I doubt you will like this one either.
