Lucas Will Make Final Trilogy?

A posting on the site says, "You didn't hear this from me, but you might be curious as to why everyone at ILM just signed NDA's saying that they will not discuss Star Wars episodes 7, 8, or 9.
"Since they're not being made, why the NDA's? Of course, since when has Lucas been consistent?"

I strongly doubt he'll make them as he's said repeatedly that he won't.
However, I wouldn't be shocked if someone else did them sometime down the road. Maybe McCallum producing with Lucas simply approving scripts etc. But the odds are still fairly strongly against that IMO.

I seriously hope this happens. To have Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, Lando, C-3PO and R2-D2 together again would be a dream. Harrison Ford would probably be the most reluctant but I believe he would return if they wrote him a good part and gave him a proper death scene. If George wants to direct, thats cool, or if he wants to try other things he can still write the story and produce it, handing if off to Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson or other equally competent directors. Of course if the trilogy were to go ahead, all three films should be shot at the same time.

It's just a rumor now. But I really thought he was going to try his hand at something else since he wanted to get done with these prequels so that he could work on something different before he goes to the great beyond.
Could also be animated series or who knows. Would mark, ford, or fisher actually come back?

Can you just imagine what changes will need to be made to the original trilogy before it's released on HD-DVD and fits with 7, 8, and 9? Then listen to George talk about how this was how he always envisioned it, and this is how all the episodes were written back in 1977, blah, blah, blah? This madness must stop!

I love Star Wars, but I really do not want to see more Star Wars with Luke, Leia, Han, etc.
I would however love to see more Star Wars but with a new cast. Having the final trilogy deal with stuff 100 years after Return of the Jedi or something along those lines.

I'd guess if there was a new trilogy it would center on Han and Leia's kids. Hard to say whether they'd have the original cast, or set it further ahead after they had all died/been killed etc.

This isn't going to happen.
If it did - I can't see Lucas going ahead with the directing. How about some fresh blood...
We KNOW Spielberg has always wanted a Star Wars picture.
We KNOW David Fincher was supposedly on short list.
Any other directors whom you'd like to see take the mantle?

I loved 4,5, & 6.
I didn't like 1 & 2.
I will see 3 on opening day.
I would go see 7, 8, & 9 in a second.
I would go see 10, 11, & 12 when I'm in my sixties.
I hate greedo shooting first, but I own the VHS and have preordered the dvds.
WHy would Lucas stop after 3 if their are people like me that will keep going to see them. I said "I'm in" for an assasination plot 2 posts up, but I'll still go see them. Hypocrites like me keep lucas in business. God, I hate me..

The prequels have established that Star Wars is the life story of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and how he, as the "chosen one" brought balance to The Force.
Episodes 7, 8, and 9 are unncessary.

Any "Sequel Trilogy" is going to focus on a new generation -- probably Han and Leia's children as young adults. Don't expect any of the OT players to have anything more than cameos, if even that, except possibly Luke who would play a mentor/Jedi Master role in some capacity.
Despite what Lucas has been saying about six movies detailing the rise, fall, and redemtion of Anakin Skywalker, I wouldn't be surprised if he went through with it. He has said that he has a story worked out for the Sequel Trilogy, should he want to do it.
Remember, he also said that he wouldn't release any Star Wars DVDs until all six were completed. Either he changed his mind or didn't want to wait until all nine were completed...

The movie's final scene shows the old Luke, locked away in a crypt somewhere, writing down the final words of the Star Wars saga.
We hear noise, Luke looks up as the massive stone door of his crypt moves, and
