- Our prior efforts had unearthed most of the English dubbed episodes...but not all of them.
- Some dubbed episodes didn't appear to be recoverable...
- But then, we managed to recover them.
- These are form old U-matic tapes - the video quality isn't quite up to snuff, but we will be able to recover the audio from them and use them as references to restore full, "uncut" dubbed episodes with optimal audio quality.
- That isn't all. There are alternate versions of multiple episodes, including one with differing levels of onscreen violence and one with totally different narrator!

- Magical Girl Ore is coming to Blu-ray

- Note: episode 5 had so many sign subtitles that it bloew up the authoring software

We have located the 35mm film elements for Project A-Ko, and will be using them for our Blu-ray release intead.

- For many years, the film master for Project A-Ko has been carefully stored in the same film lab vault where it had turned up missing.
- A clerical error was preventing searchers from locating it.
- A regular customer of the vault noticed this error, and realzied it was likely preventing Project A-Ko form being found. They tipped us off.
- That customer's name was Robert Woodhead.
- The revolutionary AstroRes upscale has been shelved in favor of a brand new HD transfer...!
- Previously announced bonus features for the first movie will still be included.
- But other release details may change. A new edition edition is in the works.

Project A-Ko will be getting some new cover artwork!

- Also included: a clean OP/ED sequence, and a prologue to episode 1

Funimation Co-Producing The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Anime Project

JRPG fans, rejoice! The popular franchise The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is officially getting a television anime series in 2022 as part of a global collaboration between Funimation, USERJOY, SYOU and NADA!

The project was announced during the game developer Nihon Falcom’s 40th Anniversary livestream, and will feature a brand-new story set in the western part of Zemuria—where the Trails of Cold Steel games are set.

“We hope that everyone, not only the fans that are familiar with the game, but also those who are not, can enjoy the new story that has never been told before with unique characters from the ‘Kiseki’ series,” said USERJOY’s Any Liu. “Also, we are developing a new game based on the anime storyline, so please look forward to that as well!”

The Trails game series kicked off in 2004 (itself a subseries in The Legend of Heroes franchise) with The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on PlayStation Portable. It has since spawned numerous sequels, including Trails of Cold Steel, in 2013.

Trails of Cold Steel tells a massive story of war set in the Erebonian Empire. They follow Rean Schwarzer, a student in the military academy of the empire, and how his class gets involved in the conflict between the noble and working class.

With such a huge world to explore, telling an original story set in this universe should be an exciting prospect for longtime fans of the franchise, as well as newcomers who want to dip their toes into Trails of Cold Steel!

The games have been praised for their emphasis on a character-driven narrative and worldbuilding, which sounds tailor-made for an anime adaptation. If you want a taste of how big the world of Zemuria is, just take a look at the official website for the games!

The latest installment in the Trails of Cold Steel series launched on PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe last year, and will make its way to PC and Nintendo Switch on April 9.

In Japan, it usually takes a budget of over 10 million yen to create one episode (about 25 minutes long) of a TV animation.

Before we begin I would like to reassure all our supporters that the production committee has already secured a certain amount of production funds to create this long animation, and that there is no risk of this project being completely aborted.

That said, we intend to use the support fund from you for the activities shown below.

[(1) Fund to improve the production quality]

Usually a TV series requires the flow to become efficient, from drawing original drawings to movies, colorings and photo shooting, as the process involves many staff members. However, in "The Girl from the Other Side," we will put in more effort and time than we would in the usual workflow, devoting more effort into photoshoot processing to present the original work's fairy-tale-like worldview. (* For the actual image, see the comparison below.)

Usually for animations created with WIT STUDIO, photoshoot processing section shown above is worked on jointly with external production companies, but this time we will organize an internal photoshoot team for the first time ahead of production. It is a special use of the fund to make this work stand out as an art animation.
