Just announced at Anime NYC, the brand new, mind-bending sci-fi anime from KADOKAWA and acclaimed director Ei Aoki (Fate/Zero) is coming to Funimation in January 2020.
Set in a virtual world, the visually stunning ID: INVADED follows Sakaido, a detective looking to solve the grisly murder of Kaeru, a young girl. But solving this case is unlike any other as the world begins to twist and turn around Sakaido, challenging what he thinks and believes.

Shy Misuzu Moritani is a totally average girl — except for her totally insane ability to stop time for three minutes a day! She uses her power to observe her classmates without fear of being noticed in return. But her secret doesn’t stay that way for long. Misuzu learns her power has no effect on her school’s idol, Haruka Murakami, when she’s caught sneaking a peek under her skirt. Against all odds, a relationship blossoms from this compromising situation, one as poignant and as fleeting as the three minutes Misuzu spends each day in frozen time.

Funimation has announced that it’s bringing the highly-anticipated My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising to theaters in the United States and Canada in early 2020.
The film, which marks the second movie in the My Hero Academia franchise (after 2018’s record-breaking My Hero Academia: Two Heroes), follows the students of Class 1-A as they work to build a legacy in the shadow of All Might’s retirement.
However, a group of new villains throw a wrench into those plans, forcing a team-up of heroic proportions for all of our favorite heroes-in-training.

HOUSTON, TX — December 17, 2019 — Sentai Filmworks announced today that it acquired Cinderella Nine, the anime adaptation of the popular baseball-themed video game of the same name by Akatsuki and KADOKAWA. Sentai will release the series in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, Latin America, Spain, Portugal and Nordic countries.
Tsubasa Arihara loves baseball so much, she actually started her high school’s baseball club! But passion alone won’t keep a club alive, so it’s up to her to recruit as many all-star players as she can. Some potential recruits have never played before while others have returned to the game thanks to Tsubasa’s love for the sport, and together they’ll form a team united in love for the game as much as their growing friendship. But whether they win or lose, one thing is for sure: every game they play together is sure to be a home run!
Produced by TMS Entertainment (Gugure! Kokkuri-san, ReLIFE), Cinderella Nine is directed by Susumu Kudo (K, Magic Kaito 2014) while Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp, Anne-Happy) provides series composition. SANTA MONICA, CA (DECEMBER 24, 2019) – Aniplex of America is excited to announce that suspense thriller, Darwin’s Game, has been added to the winter anime 2020 lineup and will premiere on FunimationNow on January 3rd with a special hour-long episode. Based on FLIPFLOPs serialized manga series in “Bessatsu Shonen Champion” by AKITASHOTEN, this heart pounding shonen story follows Kaname Sudo, an ordinary high school student who has been entwined in a high-stakes, life-or-death battle after receiving an invitation to download a mobile app called “Darwin’s Game.”
Original creator and one half of FLIPFLOPs, Hide Fukuyama, is contributing to the series’ composition and screenplay, while animation production will be by Nexus (Granbelm, Chivalry of a Failed Knight). Yoshinobu Tokumoto (Comic Girls) has signed on as the director for the series, accompanied by Kenichiro Suehiro (Cells at Work!, Golden Kamuy) handling the music. FunimationNow subscribers will have a head start to watch the series first, before a subsequent weekly release on Crunchyroll and HIDIVE beginning February 2nd.

This ambitious project produced by famed producer Yasushi Akimoto, creator of Japan’s top idol groups such as AKB48 and Nogizaka46, features original character designs from some of the industry’s most notable creators including anohana – The Flower We Saw That Day – and DARLING in the FRANXX‘s Masayoshi Tanaka, Monogatari Series’ Akio Watanabe, and Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend’s Kurehito Misaki, and K-ON!’sYukiko Horiguchi, who also serves as the character designer for the series. The series has signed on Takao Abo, who wowed viewers with his work on The Rising of The Shield Hero, to direct the series, while Satomi Tamura (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai) and Akira Takada (IDOLM@STER) serve as chief animation directors. Acclaimed studio A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online, Kaguya-sama: Love is War) will be handling the animation production with music by Masato Nakayama of We Never Learn: BOKUBEN.
