San Francisco, CA, October 6, 2017 - VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), a premier company in the fields of publishing, animation distribution, and global entertainment licensing, thrilled a packed audience during its official panel at New York Comic Con this past weekend as it announced the acquisition of the North American home video and product licensing rights to the celebrated film, BLAME!
VIZ Media will release BLAME! as Blu-ray and DVD Editions, featuring an Art Gallery, and a Blu-ray exclusive "Making of BLAME!" documentary. The film was directed by Hiroyuki Seshita, who also brought the world the complex, sci-fi action of Knights of Sidonia and Ajin: Demi-Human. BLAME! debuted on NETFLIX this past May.
In BLAME!, an "infection" in the past has caused automated systems to spiral out of order, resulting in a multi-leveled city structure that replicates itself infinitely in all directions. Now humanity has lost access to the city's controls, and is hunted down and purged by the defense system known as the Safeguard. In a tiny corner of the city, a little enclave known as the Electro-Fishers is facing eventual extinction, trapped between the threat of the Safeguard and dwindling food supplies. A girl named Zuru goes on a journey to find food for her village, only to inadvertently cause doom when an observation tower senses her and summons a Safeguard pack to eliminate the threat. With her companions dead and all escape routes blocked, the only thing that can save her now is the sudden arrival of Killy the Wanderer, on his quest for the Net Terminal Genes, the key to restoring order to the world.
"BLAME! blends apocalyptic action and hard science fiction with the story of man's struggle against technology," says Charlene Ingram, VIZ Media's Director of Animation Marketing. "We are thrilled to add this film to VIZ Media's home media collection and look forward to presenting BLAME! to fans this spring."
BLAME! was originally serialized as a manga series in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine from 1997 to 2003. It was the debut work of creator Tsutomu Nihei, who went on to win the 39th Kodansha Manga Award for his series, Knights of Sidonia. Nihei is also known for his work on the sci-fi manga series, BIOMEGA (which is published in English by VIZ Media).
BLAME! was produced by Polygon Pictures, the Japanese 3DCG animation studio widely renowned for its award-winning work on shows like Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Transformers: Prime, as well as the acclaimed Knights of Sidonia series.

The first Mazinger Z movie in decades has an official title that lives up to the titular mighty robot: Mazinger Z: Infinity. The highly-anticipated film will be premiering to the world just in time for the globally-beloved franchise?s 45th anniversary.
Fans and moviegoers in Rome will be the very first to experience the fighting robot?s return to cinema as the film will have its world premiere at the Rome Film Fest on October 28, 2017 in collaboration with the parallel and independent sidebar Alice nella citt?. The premiere will be introduced by Mazinger Z?s original creator, Go Nagai.
Created in 1972, the manga and anime series was the first to feature a human-controlled fighting robot. Throughout several series, Mazinger Z, piloted by Koji Kabuto, was a weapon to protect mankind from the forces of evil, led by arch-enemy Dr. Hell.
The movie will take place ten years after the last episode of the anime series. Koji Kabuto has become a scientist, like his father and grandfather before him. After he encounters a dark new threat buried beneath Mt. Fuji and with the re-appearance of Dr. Hell, Mazinger Z is needed once again to save humanity.
The 12th annual Rome Film Festival offers a line-up mixed with crowd-pleasing international features and Hollywood awards-season hopefuls. After its premiere, the mighty robot?s film will launch theatrically in Italy on October 31 and then on November 22 in France! Much like the films, the series is inspired by the music from the popular Vocaloid group’s “Confess Your Love Committee -Romance Series-” which has garnered over 400 million views on Youtube, NicoNico and other platforms. Lay-duce (Fate/Grand Order –First Order-) will be animating the series alongside Director Takura Tsukada (Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood) and series composition by Yoshimi Narita from the previous two films. Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart. begins its six episode run on November 24th on Crunchyroll.
The coming-of-age, romance series chronicles the relationship between Miou Aida and Haruki Serizawa at Sakuragaoka High School, based on the music video for HoneyWorks’ songs “Hatsukoi no Ehon” (Picture book of first love) and “Ippun Ichibyo Kimi to Boku no” (One minute and one second of you and I). Gundam AGE finally makes its way to the U.S. in 2018! We'll be releasing it on both Blu-ray and DVD!
We're bringing Gundam Unicorn OVA back to the U.S. in 2018 with a complete collection!
Gundam 00 will return to the U.S. just in time for its 10th Anniversary! We'll be releasing the TV series, A Wakening of the Trailblazer Movie, and the Special Edition OVA on both Blu-ray and DVD in 2018!
This will include the Medi-Lan Limited dub, just like the Build Fighters sets did. We'll have more details to AGE's release as we get into 2018.

Right Stuf, Inc. and Sunrise Inc. are excited to announce that Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn) will be released in 2018. Mobile Suit Gundam AGE will be released along with the OVA Mobile Suit Gundam AGE: Memory of Eden in 2018 as well. Also announced for 2018 release was Mobile Suit Gundam 00, which will be released along with the movie Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer.
Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn) will be released on Blu-ray in the coming months featuring English and Japanese audio with English subtitles.
Mobile Suit Gundam AGE will be released on Blu-ray and DVD in the coming months featuring English and Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is "coming for sure in 2018" #SentaiFilmworks #AnimeNYC
We got a brief little tidbit that we can actually confirm Legend of the Galactic Heroes will be released at some point on physical release in 2018.
