‘Jinsei’: Annecy Anime From Ryuya Suzuki Gets North America Deal

EXCLUSIVE: Greenwich Entertainment has picked up North American distribution rights to Jinsei, Ryuya Suzuki’s Japanese animated-drama, which debuted at the Annecy Film Festival.
The debut film was animated entirely by Suzuki over 18 months, based on his script. The Rock’N Roll Mountain production features voice work from rapper Ace Cool, Taketo Tanaka, and Shohei Uno.
The film had its world premiere in the Contrechamp section at Annecy and its North American premiere at the New York Asian Film Festival. Greenwich will release in theaters this summer.
Jinsei charts “a man’s journey through life as it leads him to unexpected success but also to confrontation of modern social issues and personal struggles.”
Suzuki also served as editor, art director, animation director, and director of photography. Pic was produced by Kenji Iwaisawa.
The deal was negotiated by Greenwich’s Jasper Basch with Gaga representing the filmmakers.
“I am truly delighted that my film will be distributed in North America,” said Suzuki. “Last summer, I set foot in North America for the first time. I still remember, as if it were yesterday, the few days I spent in New York—the city I had admired since childhood through the movies—and the moment after the premiere at the New York Asian Film Festival when a local audience member put his arm around my shoulder, laughing, and said, ‘Suzuki, you’re crazy.’
He continued: “This anime project started out as a one-person production, and I can’t wait to see what kind of ripples it will create across North America—a place I’ve always dreamed of reaching. Thank you for your support!”

An adaptation of the popular fantasy light novel series by Kinosuke Naito that premiered on Japanese TV in January 2023 and is directed and written by Ryoichi Kuraya with production by Zero-G.

Pride Royal Ivy is an eight-year-old princess. But now, she has been reborn as the cruel and merciless final-boss queen in the otome game Kimi to Hitosuji no Hikari o (“A Ray of Light With You”). Realizing this, she now decides to rely on her memories of having played the game and achieve something only she can do: avoid the coming tragedies and create a world where every character can find happiness. “MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM HATHAWAY The Sorcery of Nymph Circe” Set to Arrive In U.S. Theaters This Spring!
Bandai Namco Filmworks Brings the Next Chapter of the Legendary Gundam Universal Century to North American Screens May 15.
Los Angeles, California (March 24, 2026) – The battle for the fate of the Universal Century (U.C.) continues as Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway The Sorcery of Nymph Circe arrives in U.S. theaters Friday, May 15. The latest film adaptation of the trilogy will debut nationwide following its release in Japan earlier this year, where it outperformed its predecessor, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, grossing approximately 2.4 billion yen ($15,064,778 USD) in comparison to the first film’s 2.23 billion yen ($14,437,079 USD) Japan box office performance.
Directed by Shukou Murase, the animation is produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks’ Sunrise Animation Studios and features the powerful voice performance of Kensho Ono as Hathaway Noa. Delivering breathtaking mobile suit battles, emotional depth, and stunning animation, the film builds on the cinematic journey of Hathaway who leads the resistance movement MAFTY against a corrupt Earth Federation. Faced between duty and the remnants of his past, Hathaway must prepare for battle against the Adelaide Conference.
