If anyone in downtown Portland wants an ad, let me know, and you can have mine. Offer is good for as long as I'm at work.

Try grocery stores too. Some of the ones here sell Sunday papers throughout the week, since people like to buy them for the coupons.

I'll see if CC will accept a computer print out. At least they have the ability to locate it online.

I feel the need to share my story as I visit this website a lot and lurk the forums but never really post. I saw this deal on here and decided to give it a go. Yesterday, I went to go find Rock Band 2. I was a man on a mission. Too bad I had nature going against me as we had one of the worst storms in Southern California all day yesterday. So I drive across town to my local Toys R Us and of course, they don't have it in stock. I then look around for ads but of course they don't have any of those either. I figured the best thing I could do was go to Best Buy and try and get a price match. This is where the fun REALLY began.

I go in there and say I'd like a price match for Rock Band 2 from Toys R Us. The person helping me says okay and proceeds to look up the ad on the register computer. I tell him the ad is for Rock Band 2 complete band set and they are selling it for a 109$. He then says I'm wrong and that I must surely mean the Rock Band 1 bundle. I correct him but he still couldn't seem to find the ad and eventually goes to use another computer in the back and disappears. He comes back about 10 minutes later and tells me he found the ad and it's not there. I ask him to take me to the computer and I show him the correct ad on the computer. I thought great, they know I'm not lying, I'm out of here free and clear.

Now he gets on his radio and calls a manager over. The manager looks at the screen and keeps asking dumb questions.
"This comes out next week?"
No. That's the Wii version.
"Oh, this is just for PS3."
NO. It's both XBOX 360 and PS3. See?
"This says special edition, I don't know if we stock that version."
SPECIAL EDITION IS ON EVERY BUNDLE. THAT'S WHY IT'S SPECIAL.
...
"Let me go check to see if we have any in stock."

So the two guys end up leaving me there next to the computer with the ad on it. About ten minutes later, the first person that helped me out said they couldn't do the price match because they wouldn't make any profit and the certain deal I was trying to get came with a gift card and they wouldn't be able to give me one. To say I was pissed, was an understatement. It says clear as day on their price match policy on their registers that special offers like gift cards are excluded with these purchases, so how was that a reason they couldn't get me the deal? I walked out and went to go look for a Wal-Mart, since I heard so many people in this thread had good luck with them.

I got to the Wal-mart and they said I needed an ad. I ended up going to my nearest Kinko's which was in the next town over and printed the ad in every variety I could (close up, full page) and hope to god that would have worked.

I get to another Wal-Mart and show it to them. I get the lady looking over the ad for a while and then she calls the general manager to look at it and after about 10 minutes, she gave me the go to get a set and bring it back to her. Just my luck. They are out of stock. I come back to customer service place and the manager signs my copy of the ad so I wouldn't have to go through this again and I go on my way disappointed but at least knowing I still have this deal until the end of the week.

As I'm walking out, a lady is coming in carrying a Rock Band 2 bundle for the XBOX 360. I thought about it for a while and then I followed her into the store and went behind her in customer service. I approached the desk as she left and asked if I could buy it. The customer service lady said they needed to check it first. Turns out nothing was wrong with it. So I showed them my ad again and they were ringing me up and then a new lady that works there comes to the register and asks me all these questions.

"Are you sure it's for the whole bundle? Maybe they meant just the drums?"

I corrected her on everything and eventually they let me go with the deal.

I walked out of that Wal-Mart a broken, but grateful, man.

Nice epic tale. I think 13 months between registering and making your first post is some kind of record!

No, I don't think anyone on this forum has played this so called Rock Band thing. Now Barbie's Horse Adventures is a different story...

I wrote my story earlier in the thread. That being said, I was returning something to my TOYS R US on Monday afternoon and all I did was ask Customer Service, "Do you have an extra circular that I can have?" She said sure and gave me one. If anyone in the NEW JERSEY area needs mine; I am happy to give it to you if you are within a reasonable distance. (I went back to running my eBay business and I am usually driving around all day since I got laid off in the city. In retrospect, I should have bought 4 or 5 of the ROCKBAND 2 sets @ this price but what a bitch to ship it must be! Anyway, I feel bad when others can't cash in on an amazing deal like this) Also, for the first time in my life, I am saying AVOID BEST BUY like the plague on this one. With 140 stores closing, I think CIRCUIT CITY is the way to go. They gave me no hassle whatsoever and I was in and out in 5 minutes.

That's awesome! I'm glad BB was able help one person out (as they sound pretty stiff there)

It's the preferred music game of choice on these forums. You are also in luck, you should also know it is made by the same company that made Guitar Hero 1 & 2.

Well it was quite the odyssey I went on to get Rock Band 2 for 109.99.

I went to the closet TRU... no RB2 and no flyers. The guy in the video games section actually said to me it was an unadvertised sale. Yeah OK buddy. I took a look on their website and found another TRU about 15 miles away and decided to give that one a shot after work. No RB2 and no flyers there either. But... they did have a couple of guarded flyers that people could look at. So I ended up "borrowing" one of those when the clerks were looking the other way and snuck out the exit.

I then took the trek to my local Circuit City. The guy there gave me a hard time and said they won't price match because it comes with a gift card. I wasn't in much of a mood to argue and he was the manager so I left and went home empty handed.

After dinner I decided to give it one last shot. I took a ride over to Walmart. Things went much better there. They had plenty of RB2 bundles and all I had to do was bring it to the electronics register and show them the ad. A manager came over, turned her key in the register and boom.. Rock Band 2 for 109.99!

I also picked up that AC/DC boxed set for 29.97 while I was there. That's almost as good of a deal. A DVD and a T-shirt for Christmas presents, a download code for me and a slightly used AC/DC Live Track Pack to the highest bidder on eBay.

I love how Wal-Mart is at the bottom of everyone's list but end up there anyway at the end of the day in the bulk of these 'adventures.'

This wouldn't be the Best Buy on Foothill in Rancho Cucamonga would it? I passed on the deal as I've already blown way too much on gifts this holiday season, but when I was at the Rancho BB last night, I saw a BB employee grabbing all of the 360 RB2's (they were mixed w/other systems in a huge pile near the video games) and cart them to the back of the store. My first though was that they must have caught wind of the TRU deal.

Would be hilarious if you prompted this!

If you ever had to experience my Walmart you'd understand why that is.

My wife thought I was crazy when I told her last Saturday at midnight that I was going to Toys R Us.

I knew at the time I made the right decision, but reading now this thread makes me feel even better.

One of my friends hates the place, but as such, saw this as a good opportunity to "stick it to them".

That would've been my plan from the get go! Go to whatever store you hate the most and make them sell you the product at a loss based on their own policies.

Ha, that is pretty funny. No, it was at a BB in Moreno Valley.
